Today's Slate

I'm not going to lie, this slate is a complete mess. We have a 6 game slate, but we have multiple games that could blow out. NY is missing all their guards, WAS might be without Westbrook (some reports say he's out, but it hasn't been confirmed by the team yet), and almost the entire ORL team is questionable.

For this article, I am thinking that Westbrook is out, Capela is in, and most of ORL plays but on a min limit.

Tonight's Point Guard /Shooting Guard Notables

Bradley Beal DK $9.1 k | FD $9.5 k

If Westbrook is out then I love Beal today. It will almost certainly be a blowout but hopefully, the field stays away from him because of it. Beal gets an 8% usage bump without Westy.

Alec Burks DK $4.9 k | FD $4.5 k

This game is going to move at a snail's pace with NY being the slowest team in the league and ORL then 19th slowest. However, due to injuries, I like NYK. Thibodeau is not scared to run his players as many minutes as they can handle and he will need to do that tonight. Ntillinka could get the start and he could be an interesting piece but I see Alec as being the better play between the two.

Talen Horton-Tucker DK $3.9 k | FD $3.7k

THT!!!! Everyone's pre-season darling is getting minutes and making the most of them. In the last two games, Talen has played 26 and 28 minutes, with the extra run he put up 30+ fantasy points in both games. I like him in a value spot again tonight

UPDATE: Caruso is available, I won't have as much THT now as his minutes may come down a little.

Value options I like at Guard tonight are:

Raul Neto DK $3.8 k | FD $3.5k (if Westbrook is out)

Nickeil Alexander-Walker DK $4.2 k | FD $4.5k

Frank Ntililkina DK $3 k | FD $3.5k

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Joe Ingles DK $5.2 k | FD $4.4k

On FD he is almost a lock at 4.4 vs WAS on DK I like him but he doesn't have a very high ceiling at the price of 5.2k. I expect him to start with Conley out and will likely play around 29-32 minutes. When he has started he regularly scores in the low 30's.

RJ Barrett DK $6.4 k | FD $5.9 k

Barrett is underpriced with NY being so low on guards. Especially on FD where he is sub 6k. Barrett has played over 35 minutes in the last 3 games and now will have to shoulder more of the ball-handling duties and with that a big bump up in his usage.

Rui Hachimura DK $5.6 k | FD $5k

In the last few games, Rui has looked like a different player. Putting up 3 30+ fantasy point games in a row. He has also played 38,37 and 38 minutes in those games. With Westbrook out and Wizards needing scoring, I don't see why that would change tonight. Let's keep riding the extra minutes tonight.

Brandon Ingram DK $8.1 k | FD $7.8k

NO vs POR is the highest scoring vegas total. I want a piece of this game. I like Zion and Lonzo as well, but Ingram is fitting into my lineups a little easier due to so much value at G and SF/PF eligibility for DK. On FD I would pay up for Zion if I have the extra money.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Rudy Gobert DK $8.2 k | FD $8.7 k

I don't like Center that much tonight. Due to that, I will roll with the hot hands in Gobert/Harrell. WAS cant stop a C and Gobert has been on a rebound and block hot streak, averaging 14.2 rebounds and 4 blocks a game over the last 5 games. However, he is a little expensive on FD.

Montrezl Harrell DK $6.4 k | FD $6.7k

Trez has been averaging 40 fantasy points a game with Gasol out. His price is cheap enough and has a decent matchup vs CHA.

My Strategy

As of now (1 PM PST)My core will be all about that BBB, but not the Big Baller Brand. My core of Beal, Barrett, and Burks will push my lineups to be more of a balanced build.

However, the news is extremely important tonight as there are a few places that could totally change my strategy and the slate as a whole. If Westbrook is in, I will have a lot less Beal. If Capela is out I will get some Gallo, Collins, and Knight. Then who knows what happens in ORL. MCW is out but we are still waiting on Fournier, Ross, and Gordon news. If some more of those 1 or two of those guys are out then Vucevic is interesting too.

The moral of the story is to make sure you pay attention to the news before lock today, a lot can and will change.
