Today's Slate

We have a 6 game slate tonight with 4 games having a total of over 230. The BKN @ IND game has a monstrous 244 total. There are also several key injuries giving us some really good value pieces however they will likely be super high owned. The game theory of tonight's slate will be what differentiates people. If the chalk comes through you may need 400+ points to win tonight.

Make sure you pay attention to if Bitadze is in or out. He is viable if he plays and if he doesn't play then Brissett and Sampson are both decent plays again

Tonight's Point Guard /Shooting Guard Notables

Jalen Brunson DK $4.5 k | FD $4.7 k

Trey Burke DK $3.1 k | FD $4.2 k

Donic is likely going to be out, which opens up ball-handling duties. Jalen Brunson is going to be super high-owned, but for good reason, as he has crushed several times this season with Doncic on the bench. However, most of those times Trey Burke was not healthy. If you want to fade Brunson, Burke is a good pivot or you can play both of these guys together if you want. One thing that is interesting to me is that Burke has played 28 and 30 minutes in the 2 games since he has returned while Brunson only played 18 minutes each of those games. There is absolutely the chance that the field is wrong and Burke is the guy who is the better play tonight.

Killian Hayes DK $4.4 k | FD $4.2 k

Frank Jackson DK $4.4 k | FD $4.2 k

Josh Jackson DK $4.4 k | FD $4.2 k

Another way to get different is to go after the guards on the other side of the same game. Hayes, Jackson, and Jackson all look good for their price. Their ceiling isn't as high as Brunson's but if Brunson has a bad game there's decent leverage in using these guys. Without a lot of starters, all 3 of these guys get a big minute and usage bumps.

Andrew Wiggins DK $7k | FD $6.7k

This is probably my favorite game, both teams cant play defense. With the injuries to GSW forwards (Paschall, Oubre) I expect Wiggins to play as many minutes as he can handle. Lots of minutes + a good matchup= a good play. He doesn't have a huge ceiling but he does have a solid floor

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Kris Middleton DK $7.6 k | FD $7.5k

Hou is absolutely inept at defense, MIL will be able to score however and whenever they want. One of Middleton, Giannis, and Holiday will go nuts in this game that is likely a huge blowout. Middleton's price has fallen a little so I will take some stabs with him.

Kevin Durant DK $8.5 k | FD $9.3k

KD is going to be super chalk today. This is a game theory spot. Do you fade him or play him? On DK at 8.5k it's really hard for me to fade him without Kyrie or Harden. His minutes are a question mark but this game has a huge total, and he will have extra usage. I can't fade that, I'd rather fade a chalk cheap guy to get different.

Jeff Green DK $4.8k | FD $6k

Green is too expensive on FD, but on DK I want a lot of him. He has been playing a bunch of minutes (over 33 in 4 of 5) and has been producing with those minutes. In this high total of a game, I like it.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Karl Anthony-Town DK $10.1 k | FD $9.7k

He is my favorite stud to pay up for tonight. He is in my favorite game, against a team who cannot stop a dominant center. GSW's only hope is that he gets into foul trouble. There is also some ownership leverage here because Giannis and Curry are both likely much higher owned than KAT.

Willy Hernangomez DK $4.1 k | FD $4.9k

4.1k is criminally cheap with Adams out. At 4.9 he is still in play, but I have a hard time playing him on FD when I am missing out on Jokic or Towns. The extra raw points mean a lot.

Value Options

Here are some other value options that I didn't mention above

Kent Bazemore DK $3.9 k | FD $5.3k (a bit expensive on FD)

Khem Birch DK $5 k | FD $5.9k - He is too expensive for this section but I needed to mention him at some point. Without Boucher, Trent Jr, and Vanvleet I like him.

Malachi Flynn DK $4k | FD $4.8 k- no FVV or Vanvleet

Tim Hardaway Jr DK 4.7k | FD $4.2k - You kinda have to play him on FD.

My Strategy

This is a very interesting slate, as of now the ownership on Durant, Brunson, Bazemore (on DK), and Hernangomez all look super high. Due to ownership, I will keep it to a max of 2 of those guys in any lineup. If you want to get different you can go with a balanced lineup tonight. I think most lineups tonight will be stud/dud lineups tonight.

For me, I will have some stud/dud but will likely end up somewhat balanced. I say somewhat because there are guys close to the minimum price I like, and I have a hard time totally fading them. Most of my lineups will end up having one top-end priced guy instead of 2.
