LineStar® Daily Dribble - Sunday is for NBA DFS

Happy Sunday! We are back, for another version of the Daily Dribble written by LineStarTyler.

With football finished Sunday has turned into my favorite day for NBA DFS. Let's dig into the slate!

Today's Slate

Tonight we have a pretty fun 7 game slate. The last 3 games of the night are all expected to be pretty high totals, and we have 1 game with blowout risk. However, MIL has looked awful lately so there is a pretty good chance of that game staying close until the 4th quarter.

Slate Injury News

Shake Milton-Probable

Ben Simmons-Probable

Harrison Barnes-Questionable

Richaun Holmes- Questionable

Glenn Robinson-Questionable

Tyler Johnson- Questionable

Kyle Lowry- Doubtful

JaMychal Green-Out

Paul Millsap- Out

Delon Wright- Out

Jrue Holiday-Out

Kevin Durant- Out

Taurean Prince- Out

Tonight's Point Guard /Shooting Guard Notables

Dennis Smith Jr DK $4 k | FD $4.6k

I expect Dennis to get the start with Wright out. Last game it appeared that Smith took over Wrights' rotation after he left the game. He was 0/7 from the field however but saved himself with 6 steals/blocks. Smith is super athletic and was a good prospect coming out of college. He has 10x upside if he gets the minutes. It is a big IF though as we have no idea what DET will do with the rotation or if Smith will start.

James Harden DK $10.6 k | FD $10.8k

Without KD Harden has as much upside as anyone on the slate. He is also in one of the highest total games of the night, and it looks like Harden is going under-owned as of now. With BKN's inability to play D the only way they can win is by scoring which bodes well for Harden to rack up pts, assists, and rebound's. If you cant afford Harden you can pay down to Kyrie. I like both guys.

Shooting Guard is a fairly weak spot today if you don't play Kyrie or Harden on FD. I will likely cycle through some value/lower-priced players in this spot. Here are a few I like:

Donte DiVincenzo DK $5.1 k | FD $5.2k

Bruce Brown DK $4.1 k | FD $4.6k

Cam Reddish on FD $4.5 (a little too high of a price on DK)

Shake Milton DK $4 k | FD $4.4k

Monte Morris DK $4.7 k | FD $4.1k

Michael Carter-Williams on FD $4.5 (a little too high of a price on DK)

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Will Barton DK $5.2 k | FD $5.2k

Denver is without a lot of Forwards tonight. Barton will likely play 35+ minutes against a soft ATL team. He will probably start at SF too which has been beating up ATL over the last 5.

John Collins DK $6.5 k | FD $6.8k

Collins is coming off one of the worst games of his career, he will want a bounce-back game. His price is close to his season-low, and I will gladly buy low here. Plus, he will be getting a heavy dose of Michael Porter Jr's defense which is a welcome sign to fantasy points. Teams will regularly pick on Porter's defense and that is what is holding Porter back from earning major minutes with Den.

Giannis Antetokounmpo DK $11 k | FD $11.3k

It appears as if Giannis has found his stride this season. Over his last 6 games, 5 of them have been over 65 FP. The 1 game that missed was a 37 minute, 20 shot attempt, 12 rebound game. Mil has the highest over/under of the night, and they have been playing poorly. I expect the game to stay close into the 4th quarter allowing Giannis the chance to have a ceiling game vs a bad SAC defense.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Nikola Jokic DK $10.8 k | FD $10.6k

I love Jokic as well as Harden/Giannis, but if you are on Fanduel I can totally see you going Jokic here and skipping one of the other studs due to the weakness of the Center position. He is in a good spot and will likely play all the minutes he can due to the Denver injuries.

Center Value:

If I don't pay up for Embiid or Jokic, which both of them are in good spots then I will be going the cheap route and hoping Harden/Giannis outscore the stud Centers. Here are the cheap Centers I am looking at:

Brooke Lopez DK $4.3 k | FD $5k

This is a rock bottom price for a guy who has 35 FP upside on any given night if his shot is falling. SAC defense efficiency is some of the worst in the league which Lopez can take advantage of with wide-open 3's. The issue is if he gets the minutes or not. Over the last two weeks, he has ranged from 20 to 31 minutes, If we see a 28 minutes night (his most common) I think his floor is 5x with a ceiling of 8-9x.

Aaron Baynes DK $3.2 k | FD $4k

I think there is a chance Baynes goes back into the starting lineup vs Embiid. They will want his defense and bigger body to try and slow Embiid down. If so at rock bottom prices I will take my shot at 20-22 minutes and hope for 18-20 points. However, If Baynes does not start I likely won't really play him as there is no ceiling with him off the bench.

My Strategy

I am looking at a stud/dud approach tonight. I love smith as a value play and have a handful of other guys I like so I will shuffle through them and try to fit in 2 studs in most of my lineups tonight. I don't see this as being a popular lineup construction right now so that is my leverage.
