NCAA 2nd Round Betting Guide | Saturday March 19th Games

For all the ups and downs of the first round that featured such upsets as #15 Saint Peters beating Kentucky and #12 seeds Richmond and New Mexico State advancing, the round of 32 is where the NCAA Tournament really gets interesting.

There are 16 games on tap to get us through our Saturday, and it's kind of a shame that either Baylor/North Carolina, Michigan/Tennessee, St. Mary's/ UCLA, or even Memphis/Gonzaga are going to have their seasons end today. On the bright side, either Saint Peters or Murray State is headed to the Sweet 16, let's see if somebody like Richmond can join them.

🏀Top 5 Player Props March 19th 🏀

LineStar has a new Player Prop tab that lets you search for the best individual props through apps such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and PointsBet. Here are some of the best bets for tonight:

🏀Caleb Love, North Carolina (Over 2.5 three pointers made) -You have to like the fact that he launched 13 three-pointers (6-13) even in a 30+ point win over Marquette on Thursday. If UNC gets up, it means he's probably hit a few - if they're down to #1 Baylor that means he'll continue to fire away it's almost win-win.

🏀Hunter Dickinson, Michigan (Over 16.5 points) -Michigan coach Juwan Howard was a big man, so he should know the importance of getting the ball to his 7-footer. Dickinson has 21+ in three of his last four and although Tennessee has some size on their roster, they prefer to go small with guards being their top four scorers this season.

🏀Tevin Brown, Murray State (Over 15.5 points) - All eyes are on the Racers' KJ Williams (O/U 20.5 points) but Brown has at least 15 points in six straight games. The matchup with Saint Peter's has to be considered favorable as well, especially with Brown taking 17+ shots in 2 of his last 3.

🏀JD Notae, Arkansas (Under 17.5 points) - He's a senior and one with big game potential after having a 30, a 22, a 20, and a 19 point performance over the last 7 games. but New Mexico State has a decent scoring defense (63.2 ppg) in a contest that may be on the lower scoring side. Arkansas has the #18 defensive efficiency, so expect possessions to be at a minimum.

🏀Drew Timme, Gonzaga (Over 17.5 points) - Gonzaga has a lot of young talent, but the old-timer Timme proved this is going to be his tournament taking 21 shots en route to 32 points in the 1st round against Georgia State. That was in a 20+ point win, expect tonight's meeting with Memphis to be much closer.

NCAA 2nd Round Betting Picks

#8 North Carolina vs. #1 Baylor (-5.5) O/U 148.5 12:10 ET

What a matchup between two teams that have 30+ point wins under their belt already this tournament. BU has been in this spot before as last year's national champions but when are the injuries to LJ Cryer and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua going to catch up with them? UNC developed a legit "Big 3" in their 1st round 95-63 demolishing of Marquette, with 5th year Senior Brady Manek scoring 28, Caleb Love 23, and Armando Bacot 17/10 for his 25th double-double of the year. Pick: North Carolina +5.5

#9 Creighton vs #1 Kansas (-11.5), O/U 139.5 2:40 ET

It's unfortunate that there have already been two major injuries suffered in this tournament, with Alabama's Jahvon Quinerly and Creighton's 7-footer Ryan Kalkbrenner (Big East Defensive POY) both taking on major knee injuries. The Crimson Tide were eliminated by Notre Dame, but now Creighton has to navigate without Kalkbrenner as well as Ryan Nembhard (11.3 ppg) who was lost at the end of February. That's just too much to ask. Pick: Kansas -11.5

#11 Michigan vs #3 Tennessee (-6.5) , OU 136.5 5:15 ET

Michigan is here as a #11 seed, but it wasn't a huge upset over #6 Colorado State in the 1st round considering the Wolverines were favored. Tennessee meanwhile had almost the perfect first round, beating Longwood by 30+ points in a game that let them get comfortable with the neutral court in Indianapolis but also didn't require a lot of energy after a long stretch winning the SEC Tournament last weekend. Michigan is still a tough out though, they went to the Elite 8 last season, have a 7-footer in Hunter Dickinson, and also have an experienced 5th year senior in Eli Brooks who had 16 points in the first round. Pick: Michigan +6.5

#12 Richmond vs #4 Providence (-3), O/U 134.5 6:10 ET

Providence was on a lot of people's 🚨Upset Alert🚨 on Thursday against the #1 shooting team in the country South Dakota State. All the Friars did was go out and get a 66-57 win - yet the Big East regular season champs are just -3 point favorites against a Richmond team that upset #5 Iowa in the first round. The Spiders held one of the faster paced teams in the country to 63 points, and Providence held a great shooting team to under 60 making this one a total play. Pick: Under 134.5

#5 St. Mary's vs #4 UCLA (-3), O/U 126 7:10 ET

St. Mary's looked really good in their first-round 82-53 win over Indiana but how much of that was the Hoosiers finally wearing down after a long Big Ten Tournament run last weekend and having to play in the First Four? UCLA had a long weekend previously too losing in the Pac-12 Championship game to Arizona, and it showed as they barely got by Akron 57-53 as -13.5 point favorites. UCLA had a nice run to the Final 4 last season, but this is not the same team for whatever reason - and St. Mary's is for real with a win over Gonzaga this season.. Pick: St. Mary's +3

#15 Saint Peter's vs #7 Murray State (-8.5) , O/U 130 7:45ET

Murray State is probably glad to not be facing #2 Kentucky in this spot, and you have to wonder how content Saint Peter's is in just getting their first tournament win in program history? Murray State was 31-2 on the year, and although they needed OT to get past San Francisco 92-87 in the 1st round, that's also a very underrated Dons team. The duo of KJ Williams (18.2 ppg) and Tevin Brown (16.4 ppg) gives Saint Peter's a snapback to reality here. Pick: Murray State -8.5

#12 New Mexico State vs #4 Arkansas (-6.5) , OU 140.5 9:40 ET

The Aggies came through in another #12 vs #5 upset on Thursday, taking down UConn 70-63. New Mexico State is up against a battle tested Arkansas team that has been through this process in making the Elite 8 last season. That being said, the Hogs struggled to a 75-71 win over Vermont in the 1st round. This will be a nice showdown between two prolific scorers, with NMSU's Teddy Allen putting up 19.5 ppg and the Razorbacks' JD Notae 18.9., but these are also two solid defenses. Pick: Under 140.5

#9 Memphis vs #1 Gonzaga (-10), OU 155 9:40 ET

Gonzaga looked like they were on 🚨Upset Alert🚨 in the 1st round after leading Georgia State just 35-33 at the half, but the Bulldogs turned it on for a 93-72 win. Drew Timme went for 32 vs the Zags, but the quality of competition boosts up a bit with Memphis posting a solid 64-53 over a good defensive team in Boise State. Look for the Tigers to actually keep this one close: Pick: Memphis +10
