NCAA 2nd Round Betting Guide | Sunday March 20th Games

The final tickets to the Sweet 16 will be punched on Sunday, and the marquee matchup tonight is two members of college basketball royalty - Tom Izzo and Mike Krzyzewski - squaring off for the final time.

We will also see what #11 Notre Dame has left in the tank when they take on Texas Tech and have a very good #5 vs #4 matchup when Houston and Illinois square off to start the day. Let's get to it:

🏀Top 5 Player Props March 20th 🏀

LineStar has a new Player Prop tab that lets you search for the best individual props through apps such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and PointsBet. Here are some of the best bets for tonight:

🏀Kofi Cockburn, Illinois (Over 18.5 points) -He only had 17 in the opener, but missed a lot of easy ones in a 6-12 shooting night. Tennessee-Chattanooga had some bodies to throw at Cockburn though and Houston has only one player over 6'8" (and Cockburn has 40 pounds on him).

🏀Gabe Brown, Michigan State (Over 9.5 points) -He scored 12 on Friday on 4-10 shooting and the Senior should put up similar numbers in what should be a high scoring game against Duke.

🏀Tyrese Hunter, Iowa State (Over 1.5 three pointers made) - Strange pricing here as he's +117 on the over after hitting 7 of 11 from beyond the arc against LSU on Friday. Pay to see it, because it's heat check time vs. Wisconsin after that first round outburst.

🏀Isaiah Wong, Miami (Over 14.5 points) - He took 12 shots in the round one win over USC but also made it to the free throw line 9 times. The 143.5 betting total against Auburn is the second highest of Sunday's slate as well.

🏀Zach Edey, Purdue (Over 10 rebounds) - The problem with the 7'4" Edey is that he only plays 19 minutes a game, but that may be all it takes to get into double digit rebounds against a Texas team that doesn't have a player over 6'9".

NCAA 2nd Round Betting Picks

#5 Houston (-3.5) vs. #4 Illinois O/U 133.5 12:10 ET

Illinois led for a mere 25 seconds in their opening round 54-53 win over Tennessee-Chattanooga - yet, here they are. Houston had a much easier time breezing past UAB 82-68. It's not a shock that the Cougars are favored in this matchup even though they are the lower seed, as UH has won 10 of their last 11. Illinois will get another big game from Kofi Cockburn, but it won't be enough. Pick: Houston -3.5

#7 Ohio State vs #2 Villanova (-5.5), O/U 132.5 2:40 ET

A lot of people had Ohio State losing to Loyola-Chicago in round one, but the Buckeyes look like a totally different team with Kyle Young back in their 54-41 win. Villanova has won 11 of their last 12 - but they don't blow people out. The Wildcats' three wins in the Big East Tournament came by a total of 10 points and although Villanova beat Delaware by 20 in round 1, OSU is a much higher caliber team. Pick: Ohio State +5.5

#7 Michigan State vs. #2 Duke (-6.5) , OU 145.5 5:15 ET

Kyzyzewski has gone 12-3 in his career against Izzo, but two of Michigan State's wins have come in the last three meetings. The Spartans barely survived Davidson 74-73 in round 1 while Duke cruised to 78-61 win over Cal-State Fullerton. The public betting is split 50/50 on this matchup so flip a coin, but it should at least be high scoring. The Blue Devils have a top 10 adjusted offensive efficiency while MSU has been consistent with at least 68 points in 8 straight games. Pick: Over 145.5

#11 Iowa State vs #3 Wisconsin (-4.5), O/U 126 6:10 ET

ISU pulled off a nice upset 59-54 in round 1, a huge offensive outburst considering the Cyclones had been held to 41 points or less in two of their last three. Tyrese Hunter was the driving force in that win hitting 7 of 11 three pointers, and he'll have a nice duel with All-American Johnny Davis. Pick: Over 126

#11 Notre Dame vs #3 Texas Tech (-8), O/U 132 7:10 ET

When does Notre Dame run out of gas? They played 2OT in the First Four on Wednesday and then had to fly from Dayton to San Diego for a Friday afternoon game. The Irish still looked energized in a 78-64 win over Alabama that was helped a lot by Crimson Tide guard Jahvon Quinerly getting injured 3 minutes into the game. The Irish won't be so lucky on Sunday against a Texas Tech defense that might be the best in the country. Pick: Texas Tech -8

#10 Miami vs #2 Auburn (-7) , O/U 143.5 7:45ET

Auburn dropped 4 of 9 heading into the NCAAs including a loss to Texas A&M in their SEC Tournament opener. The Tigers looked solid in an 80-71 win over Jacksonville State in round 1, but have a challenge in a good offensive team in Miami. Pick: Miami +7

#6 Texas vs #3 Purdue (-3.5) , OU 135 8:40 ET

This is a huge game in the East Region as the winner gets to face #15 seed Saint Peter's in the Sweet 16. Texas had lost three in a row prior to their 1st round win over Virginia Tech, but the Hokies were very fatigued after a long run to the ACC Tournament Championship last weekend. Purdue also went to the Big Ten Championship game, but they were able to cruise to a78-56 win over Yale in round 1. Purdue has a huge size advantage with 7'4" Zach Edey and 6'10" Trevion Williams against a Texas squad that doesn't have a player over 6'9". Pick: Purdue -3.5

#9 TCU vs #1 Arizona(-10), OU 143.5 9:40 ET

We saw #1 seed Gonzaga struggle a bit in the late game last night before rallying from a 10-point halftime deficit to beat Memphis, so will a similar situation play out with Arizona? TCU has wins over #3 seed Texas Tech and #1 seed Kansas to wind down the regular season, but those were also both home games. Then again the Horned Frogs beat #6 seed Texas in the Big 12 Tournament and handled Seton Hall pretty easily 69-42 in the first round. Arizona just looks too good though, and Gonzaga struggling and fellow #1 seed Baylor losing yesterday will have the Wildcats on alert. Pick: Arizona -10
