NCAA Sweet 16 Betting Guide | Thursday Night Games
The NCAA Tournament gets back in action tonight with four Sweet 16 games, with the West (Chase Center, San Francisco CA) and South (AT&T Center, San Antonio TX) regions punching their tickets to the Elite 8.
#1 seeds Gonzaga and Arizona have survived the first two rounds and are in action tonight, and each time #2 Duke takes the court will be historic here on out as it could be the last coaching appearance for Mike Krzyzewski.
Can #11 Michigan keep their impressive run going against #5 Villanova? Let's find out.
🏀Top 5 Sweet 16 Player Props 3/24 🏀
LineStar has a new Player Prop tab that lets you search for the best individual props through apps such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and PointsBet. Here are some of the best bets for tonight:
🏀Drew Timme, Gonzaga (Over 20.5 points) -If Jaylin Williams is matched up on Chet Holmgren, that leaves Timme with a huge height advantage. Nobody has been able to stop Timme anyways going for 32 and 25 in two games last weekend.
🏀Collin Gillespie, Villanova (Over 2.5 three pointers made) -He's taken 9 three-point attempts in each of the first two tournament games, and those were in a 20 and a 10 point win. The Michigan game should be pretty close, and the 5th year senior is going to be launching.
🏀Bryson Williams (Over 14.5 points) - Last weekend he scored 20 points in just 17 minutes in round one, and then had only 14 in 23 minutes while battling foul trouble against Notre Dame. He's averaging 12 shots in 20 minutes this tournament and should be on the court much longer vs. Duke (barring foul trouble).
🏀Christian Koloko (Over 8.5 rebounds) - Koloko has grabbed 25 rebounds in two games this tournament, and Houston only has one player over 6'8" tall.
NCAA 2nd Round Betting Picks
#4 Arkansas vs. #1 Gonzaga (-10) O/U 154.5 7:09 ET
#1 overall seed Gonzaga went 0-2 ATS over the first weekend of the tournament, up just 2 at the half against #16 Georgia State and being down 12 to Memphis before rallying for a 4-point win. Arkansas had the best draw of the first weekend and still barely got here with a 75-71 win over #13 Vermont and then beat #12 seed New Mexico State 53-48.
Everybody knows about Gonzaga's 7'0 Chet Holmgren and 6'10" Drew Timme, two players who have been dominating the first two rounds. Arkansas' 6'10" Jaylin Williams is a tough matchup though, and the Razorbacks have some horses in the backcourt with JD Notae averaging 17.5 ppg this tournament, Stanley Umode scoring 21 points in the first round and Au'Diese Toney having 18+ points in 3 of the last 5. Some of those stats were due to the quality of competition, but the line moving up 1.5 points to 10 is too many. Pick: Arkansas +10
Jaylin Williams out of Arkansas will have his hands full tonight as he’ll be battling against two high level bigs in Chet Holmgren and Drew Timme for Gonzaga. Some scouts think Williams is a first round talent and this game could potentially make others think the same.

#11 Michigan vs #2 Villanova (-5), O/U 135 7:29 ET
Villanova just got done eliminating one Big Ten adversary in a 71-61 win over Ohio State in the round of 32, and now they try to do the same to OSU's rival Michigan. A lot of people had the Wolverines on 🚨Upset Alert 🚨 in round 1 against Colorado State, but UM took care of them as well as #3 Tennessee to get to the Sweet 16 for a 2nd straight season.
The Wolverines have revenge on their minds tonight, losing the 2018 National Championship game to Villanova. Hunter Dickinson and Eli Brooks are going to be a tough duo for the Wildcats to overcome tonight after they averaged 43.5 ppg last weekend. Dickinson should dominate against an undersized Nova squad and 5th year Sr. Eli Brooks is a nice counter for the Wildcats' experienced Connor Gillespie. Pick: Michigan +5
Hunter Dickinson has the most points by a @umichbball player through the first two games of an NCAA tournament since Juwan Howard in 1994 ♨️

⭐ Second round ‣ 27 PTS, 11 REB, 8-13 FG— ESPN (@espn)

#3 Texas Tech vs. #2 Duke (PK) , OU 137 9:39 ET
Texas Tech has plans to throw a retirement party tonight if they can take out Mike Krzyzewski and Duke. The Red Raiders' top ranked defense was on display in the opening weekend, beating Montana State 97-62 and a fatigued Notre Dame team 59-53. The Blue Devils are a different challenge though with the #4 adjusted offensive efficiency in the country.
Duke has the type of deep offense that can finally exploit TTU's #1 defensive efficiency unit. 6'10 Paolo Banchero is a matchup nightmare (especially combined with 7-footer Mark Williams) that has scored 17+ in four straight games. It's offense vs. defense, but do you go Coach K for the X-Factor? 58% of the betting public is: Pick: Duke PK
“We might be talking here hours before Mike Krzyzewski's career is over.”

#5 Houston vs # 1 Arizona (-1.5), O/U 145.5 9:59 ET
This is the matchup most people expected as #4 Illinois was a fraud as Houston pointed out 68-53 on Sunday. The Cougars have won 11 of 12 which makes you think they probably should have been seeded higher. Arizona meanwhile was lucky to get away from #9 TCU 85-80 in OT on Sunday. Does that have the Wildcats vulnerable?
61% of the betting public is on Arizona, a team that has just incredible depth. Pac-12 POY Bennedict Mathurin had 30 points in the win over TCU while Christian Koloko averaged 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds last weekend. One big thing the last week has done is allow Arizona PG Kerr Kriisa more time to rest the ankle he injured in the Pac-12 Opener. He played 27 points but showed some rest going1-10 from the floor vs. TCU. He'll be better tonight: Pick: Arizona -1.5
Kerr Kriisa was 1/10 BUT while he was on the court Arizona was +24. He orchestrates the offense. He gets it up the court and often makes the pass to the player who gets the assist.
