DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A tidy six-game NBA main slate hits the docket on Monday! A moderate amount of injuries will impact this slate, with the biggest conundrum coming in the nightcap game between the Celtics and Trailblazers. At the time of this writing, the entire Celtics starting five is either out (Porzingis) or questionable (Tatum, Brown, White, Holiday). The Celtics are on the front end of a back-to-back, and we’ve seen Boston sit multiple starters in the past in this same scenario -- particularly when they’re going up against a low-level opponent like the one they’re facing tonight. If you place any of those four “questionable” Celtics starters in your lineups, make sure you have a late swap plan in place in case their availability, or lack thereof, isn’t announced until after the rest of the games have locked. Let’s begin the new week with a bang! Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8.4k | vs. TOR

The Nuggets head into Monday’s slate with a slate-leading 123.0 implied team total. Jamal Murray has been in excellent form as of late and, excluding a Feb. 29th game against the Heat where he left the contest due to tweaking his ankle and playing just 14 minutes, he has scored at least 38.0 DKFP/35.3 FDFP in his previous seven healthy games. In three of his last four games, he has exploded for at least 51.0 DKFP/48.7 FDFP. Another recent positive is that, after averaging 31.5 minutes/gm in 48 games played this season, Murray has logged at least 37 minutes in four consecutive games. The Nuggets are hefty 14.5-point favorites at home tonight, so a blowout is on the table, but Murray is fully capable of returning value even if his minutes are cut short in the fourth quarter. Murray has averaged 46.8 DKFP/46.0 FDFP in “big favorite” games and the Raptors have ranked 25th versus point guards over their last 20 games.

PG Chris Paul, GSW | DK: $6.9k, FD: $7k | @ SAS

Steph Curry has been ruled out for a second consecutive game due to an ankle injury, which should lead to another start for Chris Paul. These two teams just faced each other on Saturday, and Paul posted a respectable 35.5 DKFP/37.3 FDFP across 29 minutes, falling one assist shy of a double-double. Since returning from a 21-game absence due to a non-shooting hand injury, Paul has been rock-solid on a per-minute basis, averaging 1.22 FPPM across his last seven games. He’ll have an excellent chance at 40+ FP this evening in what should be a competitive game (GSW: -4.5) -- the Spurs have allowed 1.27 FPPM to point guards over their last 10 games and it wouldn’t be a major surprise if Paul plays closer to 35 minutes tonight (played 29 minutes in the 13-point loss on Saturday).

PG Vasilije Micic, CHA | DK: $5.8k, FD: $5.9k | @ DET

This is the sort of game only a DFS degen could love. The Hornets and Pistons sport a combined 26-101 record and both teams sport some of the worst defensive play in the NBA (CHA: 28th in DEFRTG, DET: 29th in DEFRTG). Vasilije Micic has started each of the previous four games and, with Tre Mann listed as doubtful, along with several members of the Hornets’ backcourt already being ruled out, he’ll have another chance to operate as the Hornets’ starting point guard tonight. Micic supplied his first career double-double in Saturday’s win over the Nets and he has sported a strong 25.9% USG% across these last four games as a starter. Detroit is allowing 1.26 FPPM to PGs L10Games and, assuming Micic plays 30+ minutes in a competitive game, he’s a strong bet to return value at these sub-$6k salaries on both sites.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Luka Doncic, DAL | DK: $12.4k, FD: $12.8k | @ CHI

PG Cade Cunningham, DET | DK: $8.4k, FD: $8.6k | vs. CHA

PG Coby White, CHI | DK: $7.9k, FD: $8k | vs. DAL

PG/SG Devin Vassell, SAS | DK: $7.6k, FD: $8k | vs. GSW

PG/SG Bradley Beal, PHX | DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.7k | @ CLE

SG/SF Caris LeVert, CLE | DK: $6.7k, FD: $6.8k | vs. PHX

PG/SG Brandon Podziemski, GSW | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.1k | @ SAS

PG/SG Ayo Dosunmu, CHI | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.2k | vs. DAL

PG/SG Delano Blanton, POR | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.4k | vs. BOS

PG Payton Pritchard, BOS | DK: $3.8k, FD: $4.3k | @ POR (Pending BOS injury news)

SG/SF Sam Hauser, BOS | DK: $3.6k, FD: $3.9k | @ POR (Pending BOS injury news)

PG/SG Javon Freeman-Liberty, TOR | DK: $3.5k, FD: $3.7k | @ DEN (Preferred if Quickley is out)

PG Craig Porter Jr., CLE | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4.6k | vs. PHX

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

SF/PF DeMar DeRozan, CHI | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8.5k | vs. DAL

Prolonged consistency is a rare thing in NBA DFS but DeMar DeRozan has posted a strong floor for essentially two consecutive months. He’s been particularly effective over his last four games where he has averaged 48.4 DKFP/46.9 FDFP per game. DeRozan is also a lock for massive minutes on a nightly basis and he has logged at least 36 minutes in 27 of his last 29 games. This game between the Bulls and Mavs owns a slate-high 232.5 over/under and the closes spread of the day (CHI: +4). The Mavs have ranked 26th versus PF starters L20Games. He may not always be the most glamorous DFS play, but DeRozan sets up as a very reliable option out of the $8k range on both sites tonight.

PF/C Al Horford, BOS | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.6k | @ POR

As touched on in the intro, 80% of the Celtics’ starting lineup is questionable to play tonight so it’s a mystery as to who will be in the starting lineup. The lone exception is Al Horford who, pending any surprise news, will operate as the starting center in place of the injured Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring/out). Horford, who also has power forward eligibility on DraftKings, has averaged a commendable 1.06 FPPM in his last five games as a starter. He draws an excellent match-up against the Trailblazers, who have ranked dead last versus starting centers L20Games, and Horford could take on additional offensive responsibilities if any combination of those four “questionable” Celtics starters is eventually ruled out.

SF/PF Georges Niang, CLE | DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.2k | vs. PHX

The Cavaliers will continue to operate with a shorthanded lineup as Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Max Strus, and Dean Wade have all been ruled out tonight. That should lead to a fourth consecutive start for Georges Niang, who leads the team in minutes played with those four players off the court this season. Over his last three games as a starter, Niang is averaging 1.10 FPPM across 29.0 minutes/gm. He has been a more efficient shooter at home this season and, assuming he plays around 28-32 minutes, Niang should be an excellent forward option out of the value tier today.

Other Forwards to Consider

PF Kevin Durant, PHX | DK: $9.9k, FD: $10.1k | @ CLE

SF/PF Miles Bridges, CHA | DK: $8.7k, FD: $8.6k | @ DET

SF/SG Brandon Miller, CHA | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7k | @ DET

PF Jonathan Kuminga, GSW | DK: $7k, FD: $7.4k | @ SAS

PF Aaron Gordon, DEN | DK: $6.2k, FD: $6.6k | vs. TOR

SF/PF Isaac Okoro, CLE | DK: $5k, FD: $5.7k | vs. PHX

PF Davis Bertans, CHA | DK: $4.9k, FD: $4.9k | @ DET

SF/PF Simone Fontecchio, DET | DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.1k | vs. CHA

PF/C Peyton Watson, DEN | DK: $3.8k, FD: $4.8k | vs. TOR (DK Preferred)

PF Oshae Brissett, BOS | DK: $3k, FD: $3.6k | @ POR (Pending BOS injury news)

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Victor Wembanyama, SAS | DK: $10.5k, FD: $11.3k | vs. GSW

The rookie phenom is back in the fold after sitting out the Spurs’ previous two games with an ankle injury. His minutes may be monitored more closely than usual tonight, but the fact that he’s not even on the injury report is a positive sign that he’ll play his usual 28-32-ish minutes. Since the calendar flipped over to 2024, Wembanyama has been averaging an astonishing 1.88 FPPM. This also sets up as an attractive match-up since the Warriors rank 28th versus centers over their last 10 games. Wemby also averages +9.5% more FPPG at home. The lack of heavy minutes can make him a bit of a risky spend-up option, but the fact that he can explode for 70+ FP on any given night keeps him firmly on the DFS radar. Wemby is also a nice pivot off of his [presumed] counterpart in this game -- Trayce Jackson-Davis (DK: $4.4k, FD: $5.5k) is cheap and will undoubtedly be one of the highest-owned players on the slate if he receives a second consecutive start at center for the Warriors.

C Jalen Duren, DET | DK: $6.4k, FD: $7.3k | vs. CHA

Duren is another fairly volatile center option and he’s coming off of a dud in his last game where he played just 16 minutes against the Mavs en route to a blowout loss. But he’ll draw a much better match-up in a winnable game against the Hornets tonight and, on DraftKings, this is as cheap as Duren has been since Dec. 30th. The Hornets are allowing the 5th most FPPM to centers and Duren went for 44.75 DKFP when these teams first met this season. With bigger names and cheaper value options on the board at the center position, I wouldn’t expect significant ownership on Duren tonight and he brings some very real GPP-winning upside to lineups.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN | DK: $11.6k, FD: $12.1k | vs. TOR

C Nikola Vucevic, CHI | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.1k | vs. DAL

C Deandre Ayton, POR | DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.9k | vs. BOS

C Nick Richards, CHA | DK: $5.7k, FD: $5.9k | @ DET

C Daniel Gafford, DAL | DK: $5k, FD: $6.6k | @ CHI (DK Preferred)

C Trayce Jackson-Davis, GSW | DK: $4.4k, FD: $5.5k | @ SAS (Preferred if starting again)
