DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A seven-game Hump Day main slate rolls around! There are nine games in total on the NBA schedule today but both DraftKings and FanDuel will be excluding the two late games from their respective main slates. The injury report isn’t too chaotic today but there will be some news to monitor today -- specifically when it comes to the Raptors and Grizzlies news. The largest spread on this slate is just seven points so here’s to plenty of entertaining, competitive games tonight! Best of luck!

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $8.4k, FD: $8.8k | @ MIA

Murray’s hot streak continued on Monday, and he is now up to 26.8 PPG, 9.4 APG, 5.4 RPG, and 1.6 STL+BLK/gm over his last five starts while averaging 1.33 FPPM and 38.7 minutes/gm. Murray has averaged 31.6 minutes/gm across 49 games played this season, so it’s great to see him pushing for 40 minutes over the last couple of weeks. This will also be a sneaky good match-up versus a Heat team that has allowed 1.36 FPPM to point guards L5Games, which is the worst mark on the slate. Murray’s DFS salaries are on the rise, but I like his chances of supplying another 50+ FP tonight, which would be a great outcome for a player priced in the $8k range.

PG/SG Ayo Dosunmu, CHI | DK: $6.1k, FD: $6.3k | @ IND

Dosunmu is not an overly exciting play but you kinda know what you’re getting out of him on a nightly basis -- roughly a 30 FP floor with some moderate 40+ FP upside. In any competitive game, as this one should be (CHI: +4), Dosunmu is going to play 35-40 minutes. Chicago ranks 29th in pace this season so this will also be a significant pace-up spot against Indiana, the second-fastest-paced team in the NBA. Finally, the 1.12 FPPM that the Pacers have allowed to shooting guards over their last five games is the highest mark on the slate.

PG/SF Bruce Brown, TOR | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.1k | @ DET (Preferred if Quickley and/or Trent are out)

The value guard options are limited at the time of this writing, and when it comes to Bruce Brown, it would be preferred if both Immanuel Quickley and Gary Trent Jr. (both questionable) are ruled out tonight. Brown slid into the starting lineup with those players out on Monday, and he supplied 31.0 DKFP/27.5 FDFP while playing 38 minutes. It wasn’t a spectacular game, but the high-30s minutes were what was most encouraging. There’s also a strong chance that Brown would remain in the starting lineup even if both Quickley and Trent suit up. The Pistons rank 28th in DEFRTG and this game features one of the most fantasy-friendly environments on the slate thanks to a strong 232.5 over/under and close spread (TOR: +3.5).

Other Guards to Consider

PG Luka Doncic, DAL | DK: $12.8k, FD: $12.8k | vs. GSW

PG Tyrese Haliburton, IND | DK: $9.4k, FD: $9.1k | vs. CHI

PG Cade Cunningham, DET | DK: $8.6k, FD: $8.6k | vs. TOR

SG/SF Brandon Ingram, NOP | DK: $7.9k, FD: $8.1k | vs. CLE

PG Chris Paul, GSW | DK: $6.9k, FD: $7.8k | @ DAL

PG/SG Dennis Schroder, BKN | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.7k | @ ORL

PG/SG Jaden Ivey, DET | DK: $6.1k, FD: $6.6k | vs. TOR

SG/SF Gradey Dick, TOR | DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.2k | @ DET (Preferred if Quickley and/or Trent are out)

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF Zion Williamson, NOP | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.6k | vs. CLE

Zion has been on a heater recently, averaging 1.53 FPPM over his last three starts, and he has secured at least 45.0 DKFP/44.3 FDFP in seven of his last 10 games. He’s shooting 59.8% at home this season (55.8% FG% away) and draws a quality individual match-up against a Cavs team that has ranked 24th versus power forwards L10Games.

SF Jake LaRavia, MEM | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.6k | vs. CHA

The Grizzlies continue to be extremely shorthanded and it looks like they’ll be without both Jaren Jackson Jr. and Vince Williams Jr. (both doubtful) tonight. Jake LaRavia has been providing a nice spark off of the bench and he has averaged a strong 1.16 FPPM over his last five games. This game has an ugly 202.5 over/under, however, the 1.5-point spread is the closest on the entire slate. Whether or not LaRavia starts or continues to play off of the bench, he sets up as a quality option out of the $5k range. The Hornets have ranked 27th versus reserve units L20Games and rank 27th in overall DEFRTG this season.

PF/C Jonathan Isaac, ORL | DK: $3.5k, FD: $4.6k | vs. BKN (DK Preferred)

Jonathan Isaac isn’t a great value option on FanDuel but he sets up as a quality cheap play at his $3,500 DraftKings tag. He’s unlikely to play more than around 18 minutes off of the Magic bench, but Isaac is capable of stuffing the stat sheet in a hurry. Isaac has averaged just 17.7 minutes/gm over his last three contests but he has come away with DKFP scores of 22.75, 25.0, and 23.0 -- that works out to a 1.33 FPPM average in that span. If you want to be able to afford a stud like Luka Doncic or Nikola Jokic, you’ll need some cheap ‘filler’ players with 6x (or better) upside, and Jonathan Isaac fits the bill on DraftKings tonight.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Miles Bridges, CHA | DK: $8.8k, FD: $8.7k | @ MEM

SF/PF DeMar DeRozan, CHI | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8.4k | @ IND

SF/SG Brandon Miller, CHA | DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.2k | @ MEM

SF/PF Pascal Siakam, IND | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.8k | vs. CHI

PF Jonathan Kuminga, GSW | DK: $7k, FD: $7.3k | @ DAL

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.9k | @ MIA

PF Aaron Gordon, DEN | DK: $6k, FD: $6.5k | @ MIA

SF/PF Simone Fontecchio, DET | DK: $5.1k, FD: $6.1k | vs. TOR

PF/C Jalen Smith, IND | DK: $4k, FD: $4.3k | vs. CHI

SF/PF Jalen McDaniels, TOR | DK: $3.4k, FD: $4.6k | @ DET (DK Preferred)

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Jalen Duren, DET | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.4k | vs. TOR

Centers against the Raptors has been a strong play as of late. Nikola Jokic just dismantled them on Monday with a 35/17/12 stat line (along with eight steals/blocks) and, over their last five games, Toronto is allowing 1.55 FPPM to the center position. We can’t compare Jalen Duren to a player like Jokic, but he did post a strong 18-point, 17-rebound performance the last time he faced Toronto, resulting in 43.25 DKFP/40.2 FDFP. Detroit ranks second on the slate with a 117.8 implied team total and Duren could have a realistic shot at a 20+ point, 10+ rebound double-double this evening.

C Trey Jemison, MEM | DK: $4.3k, FD: $4k | vs. CHA

Due to all of the injuries to the Grizzlies frontcourt, Trey Jemison should be in line for another spot start tonight. He had his most productive game of the season last night, posting 24 points, six rebounds, and two blocks (34.0 DKFP/34.2 FDFP) across 31 minutes. Foul trouble has been an issue for Jemison when he has received these spot starts, but if he can manage to play another 30+ minutes tonight, he’s a great candidate to return strong value. The Hornets allow the 8th most points in the paint per game and rank 28th in rebounding%.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN | DK: $12k, FD: $12.3k | @ MIA

C Nikola Vucevic, CHI | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.2k | @ IND

C Kelly Olynyk, TOR | DK: $7k, FD: $6.8k | @ DET

C Myles Turner, IND | DK: $6.2k, FD: $6.8k | vs. CHI

C Daniel Gafford, DAL | DK: $5k, FD: $6.8k | vs. GSW (DK Preferred)

C Trayce Jackson-Davis, GSW | DK: $4.9k, FD: $6.2k | @ DAL

C Larry Nance Jr., NOP | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4.6k | vs. CLE
