DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

Happy Friday! For the second day in a row, tonight’s main slate will differ depending on your DFS site of choice -- although, just by one game this go around. DraftKings will feature a six-game slate -- and also keep in mind that the DK slate will not have the late swap feature today. The FanDuel main slate will consist of five games as they are excluding the latest game of the evening between the Hawks and Jazz. As usual, only players from the five mutually shared games will be discussed in-depth in this newsletter. There won’t be a ton of injury news to monitor, since most players on the injury report below have already been ruled out this evening. But keep your eyes peeled for any last-minute injury additions that may arise later this afternoon while also tracking the availability of the few meaningful “questionable” players -- mainly, Cade Cunningham, James Harden, Jalen Johnson (DK Only), and Bogdan Bogdanovic (DK Only). Best of luck!

Top Point Guards/Shooting Guards 🏀

PG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $8.1k, FD: $8.6k | @ SAS

Murray’s five-game hot streak came to a close on Wednesday with a disappointing 27.0 DKFP/26.9 FDFP performance, but we’ll see if he has a bounce-back game in him tonight. The Denver Nuggets (27th in pace) will get a significant pace-up boost tonight (SAS: 3rd in pace), and Murray has averaged +42% more FPPG in pace-up match-ups. He’ll be taking on a Spurs defense that ranks 23rd in DEFRTG and has allowed 1.36 FPPM to point guards over their last five games. The Nuggets lead today’s slate with a 117.0 implied team total and Murray’s poor showing in his last start also led to a price drop on both sites. I’d have no problem going back to him for a chance at snagging a potential 50+ FP result.

PG/SG Bradley Beal, PHX | DK: $6.9k, FD: $7.8k | @ CHA

I’m a little hesitant to pull the trigger on Beal now that the Suns have their “big three” of Durant, Booker, and Beal all healthy at the same time, but he’s been posting some nice results lately. Over his last six games, Beal has posted no fewer than 36.5 DKFP/36.2 FDFP while averaging 23.0 PPG, 5.8 APG, and 2.2 STL+BLK/gm across 35.4 minutes/gm. The Suns are on the second leg of a back-to-back, and getting Eric Gordon (knee/probable) back in the mix could take some opportunities away from Beal, but Phoenix is in an all-around strong spot against Charlotte and their 26th-ranked defense.

SG/SF Duncan Robinson, MIA | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.2k | @ DET

If James Harden is ruled out again today, the easiest value play on the slate is going to be Bones Hyland (DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.1k). Hyland started last night’s game, poured in a whopping 50.75 DKFP/50.5 FDFP, and his DFS salaries have barely budged. But another favorable cheap guard option would be Duncan Robinson out of the low-$5k range on both sites. Robinson is a fairly scoring-dependent play, but he’s an affordable starter who plays 30+ minutes most nights and can provide 6x upside at his current price points. The Pistons rank 28th in DEFRTG and when these teams faced one another ten days ago, Robinson emerged with a healthy 33.75 DKFP/33.6 FDFP result in 36 minutes. If he can get going from three-point range (DET: 9th highest opp 3P%) then Robinson could easily come away with a similar fantasy score tonight.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Dejounte Murray, ATL | DK: $9.5k, FD: N/A | @ UTA (DK Main Slate Only)

PG Immanuel Quickley, TOR | DK: $8.6k, FD: $8.5k | vs. ORL

SG Collin Sexton, UTA | DK: $7.3k, FD: N/A | vs. ATL (DK Main Slate Only)

PG Keyonte George, UTA | DK: $6.6k, FD: N/A | vs. ATL (DK Main Slate Only)

PG/SG Jaden Ivey, DET | DK: $6.2k, FD: $6.8k | vs. MIA (Boost if Cunningham is out)

PG Vasilije Micic, CHA | DK: $6k, FD: $6k | vs. PHX

SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, DEN | DK: $4.4k, FD: $4.9k | @ SAS

PG Bones Hyland, LAC | DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.1k | @ NOP (Preferred if Harden is out + Hyland starts)

SG/SF Talen Horton-Tucker, UTA | DK: $3.9k, FD: N/A | vs. ATL (DK Main Slate Only)

PG/SG Marcus Sasser, DET | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4.3k | vs. MIA (Preferred if Cunningham is out)

Top Small Forwards/Power Forwards 🏀

PF Zion Williamson, NOP | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.9k | vs. LAC

Zion is not immune to the occasional dud performance but he’s been ballin’ for the better part of the last month-and-a-half. Dating back to Feb. 2nd, Zion has produced at least 45.0 DKFP/44.3 FDFP in 11 of 16 games. Across his last four starts, he’s averaging an excellent 1.48 FPPM. Zion tends to be a more efficient scorer at home and he has come away with at least 46.25 DKFP/46.6 FDFP in two of the three match-ups with the Clippers this season (Zion played just 19 minutes in the other game). The Clippers are fairly average defensively, ranking 14th in DEFRTG, and they check in at 25th versus power forwards over their last 10 games. Fatigue could be a factor for the Clippers after most of their starters played mid-30s minutes last night in Chicago.

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.7k | @ SAS

MPJ can be a bit of a DFS enigma but he has been a bit more consistent recently, producing at least 31.5 DKFP/29.4 FDFP in six of his last seven games. Of course, at this mid-$6k salaries, we’ll want more than ~30 fantasy points, but he has certainly shown some slate-breaking upside in recent weeks. On Feb. 29th, Porter landed in the perfect lineup with a 58.75 DKFP/57.7 FDFP score against the Heat, then followed that up with a 51.0 DKFP/48.0 FDFP result in the very next game against the Lakers. Outside of Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs do not possess a single other player who ranks inside the top 125 of DEFWS (defensive win shares) in the NBA, and Porter posted a 25/7/2 stat line, along with 39.25 DKFP/36.4 FDFP, when the Nuggets faced the Spurs earlier this season. I believe we can get a 40+ FP score out of MPJ this evening, especially if this game stays fairly close deep into the fourth quarter.

PF/C Jonathan Isaac, ORL | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4.6k | @ TOR (DK Preferred)

There is not a ton of value on the board this evening, pending further injury news, but Jonathan Isaac remains an enticing play on DraftKings, where he’s just $3,700. As usual, he’s very unlikely to play more than 20 minutes but, spanning his last four games, Isaac is averaging 22.8 DKFP/gm and a healthy 1.25 FPPM. If he continues to play to those averages, Isaac can return some easy 6x value (on DraftKings). This is a great match-up for Isaac and the Magic as well. Since the beginning of February, the Raptors have owned the second-worst defensive rating in the NBA, and, across their last 20 games, they’ve ranked 29th versus power forwards and centers.

Other Forwards to Consider

PF Paolo Banchero, ORL | DK: $8.9k, FD: $8.4k | @ TOR

SF Jimmy Butler, MIA | DK: $8.4k, FD: $8.7k | @ DET

PF/C John Collins, UTA | DK: $7.1k, FD: N/A | vs. ATL (DK Main Slate Only)

SF/PF De’Andre Hunter, ATL | DK: $5.6k, FD: N/A | @ UTA (DK Main Slate Only)

SF/PF Simone Fontecchio, DET | DK: $5.3k, FD: $5.9k | vs. MIA

SF Brice Sensabaugh, UTA | DK: $4.8k, FD: N/A | vs. ATL (DK Main Slate Only)

PF/C Aleksej Pokusevski, CHA | DK: $3.8k, FD: $4.3k | vs. PHX

PF/C Peyton Watson, DEN | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4.6k | @ SAS (DK Preferred)

Top Centers to Consider 🏀

C Victor Wembanyama, SAS | DK: $10.5k, FD: $11.2k | vs. DEN

The Jokic/Wembanyama rematch should be a fun one to watch tonight and both guys will clearly land on the DFS radar. These teams first met back on Nov. 26th in Denver, a notoriously tough environment for opposing bigs to play in, and Wemby posted one of his best performances as an NBA player up to that point. Despite playing just 25 minutes in that first meeting against the Joker, he poured in 22 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, four blocks, and six steals -- good for 59.75 DKFP/65.2 FDFP. Wembanyama is now playing closer to 30-32 minutes most nights and he’s averaging an absurd 1.80 FPPM across his last 20 games. The Nuggets have ranked 24th versus starting centers L20Games so it’s far from a scary match-up. Wembanyama also tends to play his best at home where he averages +9.3% more FPPG.

C Wendell Carter Jr., ORL | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6k | @ TOR

His floor is not always the safest, but WCJ brings some realistic 40+ FP upside to the table tonight and is modestly priced on both sites. Across his last five starts, Carter is averaging a strong 1.17 FPPM and is just shy of averaging a double-double in that span -- 13.2 PPG/9.8 RPG. Toronto ranks 27th versus starting centers L20Games and they are allowing 40.1 DKFP/40.5 FDFP to starting centers in that span. If you’re not looking to spend up at the position, WCJ makes for an appealing cheap center option tonight.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN | DK: $11.8k, FD: $12k | @ SAS

C Bam Adebayo, MIA | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8.5k | @ DET

C Jusuf Nurkic, PHX | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.1k | @ CHA

C Clint Capela, ATL | DK: $6.3k, FD: N/A | @ UTA (DK Main Slate Only)

C Jonas Valanciunas, NOP | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.8k | vs. LAC (DK Preferred)

C Jontay Porter, TOR | DK: $4.5k, FD: $5k | vs. ORL
