DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A modest four-game slate hits the schedule on Tuesday. After a chaotic nine-gamer yesterday, this sort of small slate is very much welcomed if you ask me. We won’t have too much injury news to track for this slate so that’ll be one less headache to contend with. These games also set up as competitive match-ups with three of the four games holding a spread of three points or less. This will be a fairly abbreviated newsletter today so we’re wasting no time and jumping right into it. Best of luck!

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Top Point Guards/Shooting Guards 🏀

PG Luka Doncic, DAL | DK: $12.7k, FD: $12.8k | @ SAC

Not to be repetitive, but it seems like another day where sliding Luka Doncic into your lineups feels like a wise choice. He’s coming off of another productive 29/12/13 triple-double in last night’s contest and he cracked the optimal lineup on DraftKings as well. As discussed yesterday, factoring in playoff implications can be a solid edge at this point in the season. The Mavs and Kings are both locked in at 42-29 records heading into tonight’s game and a win for either team tonight will go a long way in securing a guaranteed playoff seed -- SAC currently holds the No. 6 seed while the Mavs are right behind at No. 7. I never worry too much about the back-to-back factor when it comes to Luka and it doesn’t hurt that the Kings are also on the second leg of their own B2B. This game also sports a slate-high 233.5 over/under and a narrow one-point spread. Doncic is averaging an eye-popping 77.7 DKFP/73.3 FDFP in close games this season, and this should be a closely contested showdown to cap off the night.

Update: Doncic has been added to the injury report and is now questionable. Be sure to monitor his availability this evening.

PG D’Angelo Russell, LAL | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.5k | @ MIL

Russell missed Sunday’s game due to an illness but he’s off the injury report heading into tonight and should be all systems go. The results for Russell have been extremely volatile lately but he’s showing off the slate-breaking upside you need in order to snag a takedown. You could argue that his best game of the season, certainly from a fantasy perspective, came against this same Bucks team back on March 8th. In that game, Russell delivered 44 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and a block -- good for 70.5 DKFP/65.7 FDFP. LeBron James (ankle/out) was sidelined for that game and it just so happens that he’ll be sitting out for the first time since that last match-up with Milwaukee. Russell has played a team-leading 538 minutes with LeBron off the floor this season and, in that time, his usage rate has increased by +2.8 percentage points and he has averaged +5.6 fantasy points per 32 minutes. He’s certainly not immune to a dud performance but Russell provides ample 50+ FP potential out of the $7k range today.

PG/SG Patty Mills, MIA | DK: $3.5k, FD: $4k | vs. GSW

It’s slim pickings when it comes to viable guard value on this slate but Patty Mills is one cheap option worth considering. He has started in place of the injured Duncan Robinson in each of the last two games, and he should be in line for another spot start tonight. There’s no telling just how many minutes Mills will be in line for this evening but the Heat have a few other “questionable” designations on their injury report, so the minutes and usage could be there for the taking.

Other Guards to Consider

PG/SG Kyrie Irving, DAL | DK: $9.3k, FD: $9.5k | @ SAC (Preferred if Doncic is out)

PG Damian Lillard, MIL | DK: $8.9k, FD: $9k | vs. LAL

PG De’Aaron Fox, SAC | DK: $8.8k, FD: $9.6k | vs. DAL (DK Preferred)

SG/SF Trey Murphy III, NOP | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.7k | vs. OKC

SG/SF Klay Thompson, GSW | DK: $5.7k, FD: $6.1k | @ MIA

PG/SG Keon Ellis, SAC | DK: $4.5k, FD: $5k | vs. DAL

SG/SF Pat Connaughton, MIL | DK: $3.3k, FD: $3.9k | vs. LAL

Top Small Forwards/Power Forwards 🏀

PF/C Anthony Davis, LAL | DK: $10.3k, FD: $11.5k | @ MIL

Somewhat surprisingly, Anthony Davis has only received a moderate +2.99 percentage point increase to his usage rate with LeBron James (ankle/out) off the floor this season. But that’s a boost nonetheless and AD is entering tonight’s contest on the heels of three consecutive impressive outings where he has averaged 27.0 PPG, 16.7 RPG, 4.3 APG, and 3.3 STL+BLK/gm. The Lakers (+9.5) are the largest underdogs on the night and they’re going to need a superstar performance from Davis if they hope to pull out the road upset this evening.

SF Khris Middleton, MIL | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.3k | vs. LAL

K-Midd has put up excellent numbers in the three games he has played since returning from a lengthy absence due to an ankle injury. In those three recent games, he is averaging 18.3 PPG, 7.7 APG, 6.3 RPG, and 1.4 STL+BLK/gm to go alongside a 1.45 FPPM average. He’s likely still going to have his minutes monitored tonight, and for the foreseeable future, but he has shown the ability to return excellent value at these price points even while playing around 28 minutes. Middleton will also draw a promising match-up against a Lakers team that has ranked 24th versus starting small forwards L20Games.

SF/PF Naji Marshall, NOP | DK: $4.3k, FD: $5k | vs. OKC

With Brandon Ingram (knee/out) missing the last two games, Trey Murphy III has slid into the starting lineup while Naji Marshall has picked up some additional minutes/usage off of the Pelicans’ bench. Marshall supplied 30.0 DKFP/27.1 FDFP in 24 minutes against the Pistons on Sunday and 25.75 DKFP/25.9 FDFP in 23 minutes against the Heat last Friday. Marshall has the third-most minutes played with Ingram off the court this season and he should continue to be in line for an increased role with the Pelicans’ second unit this evening.

Other Forwards to Consider

PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL | DK: $11.3k, FD: $11.7k | vs. LAL

PF Zion Williamson, NOP | DK: $9k, FD: $9.4k | vs. OKC

PF Keegan Murray, SAC | DK: $5.9k, FD: $6.4k | vs. DAL

SF/PF Andrew Wiggins, GSW | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.3k | @ MIA

SF/PF Taurean Prince, LAL | DK: $4k, FD: $4.2k | @ MIL (Preferred if starting)

Top Centers to Consider 🏀

C Bam Adebayo, MIA | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.4k | vs. GSW

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen a slate-breaking sort of performance out of Adebayo, but he’s seen a moderate drop off in his DFS salaries and he has secured at least 43.75 DKFP/40.6 FDFP in six of his last seven starts. He’ll take on a Warriors team that has allowed a slate-worst 1.27 FPPM to centers over their last 10 games. Adebayo also averages +12.6% more FPPG in close games, and this projects to be a competitive affair with the Heat checking in as three-point home underdogs. If you need a reliable floor at the center position but can’t quite get up to Domantas Sabonis’ price tag, then Adebayo will check in as a reliable option.

C Daniel Gafford, DAL | DK: $6k, FD: $6.9k | @ SAC

Gafford continues to post excellent fantasy results despite a lack of massive playing time. He had arguably his best performance in a Mavericks’ uniform last night where he put up 13 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, five blocks, and two steals in 27 minutes -- good for 49.75 DKFP/54.7 FDFP. Seven blocks/steals isn’t something we can rely upon against tonight, and the match-up won’t be as juicy against the Kings… but it’s not horrible. The Kings have ranked 19th versus starting centers L20Games and Gafford has averaged an excellent 1.42 FPPM across his last five starts. He’s a fairly decent bet to post somewhere in the vicinity of 35-to-40 FP in this game, which we’ll be content with for a guy priced in the $6k range.

Other Centers to Consider

C Domantas Sabonis, SAC | DK: $10.5k, FD: $10.9k | vs. DAL

C Chet Holmgren, OKC | DK: $7.5k, FD: $8.1k | @ NOP

C Brook Lopez, MIL | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.9k | vs. LAL

C Larry Nance Jr., NOP | DK: $4.2k, FD: $4.8k | vs. OKC
