DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween night! The calendar flips to November and things will really begin to pick up in the coming weeks. A busy Wednesday slate lies ahead -- on DraftKings, you’re looking at a seven-game main slate, on FanDuel, you’re eyeing the nine-game main slate which will include the two late match-ups (DEN @ MIN, OKC @ POR). There are a lot of moving parts on this slate with several key players either out or listed as “questionable” for tonight’s action. Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG De’Aaron Fox, SAC | DK: $8.6k, FD: $8.8k | at ATL

There are quite a few appealing guard plays out of the mid-range and value tier so I’m thinking many of the pricier guards will fly under the radar a bit. De’Aaron Fox draws a stellar match-up today against an Atlanta team that, much like last season, plays at a fast pace (3rd in pace) and rates out poor defensively (28th in DEFRTG). The Kings own a 121.3 implied team total -- second highest on the slate -- and the 236 O/U here is the highest on the evening. We’ve only seen one big game out of Fox this season but this is as prime of a spot as any for him to pop off for 50+ FP at low ownership.

PG Jalen Suggs, ORL | DK: $5.8k, FD: $6.8k | at CLE

The Magic will be without star forward Paolo Banchero for the first time this season, and he is likely to miss at least 4-to-6 weeks due to an oblique injury. Banchero was averaging 29.0 PPG on a 31.4% USG% so the rest of the lineup is going to have plenty of slack to pick up in his stead. Jalen Suggs has already been playing outstanding, particularly over the last three games where he has scored at least 43.5 DKFP/45.5 FDFP and averaged 1.36 FPPM across 33.7 Min/gm. Suggs has always been an excellent per-minute fantasy scorer in recent seasons but receiving big minutes has been the issue. With Banchero down, he should be locked into 30+ minutes tonight. It’s a tougher match-up against a defensively sound Cavaliers team (3rd in DEFRTG), but if the Magic (+7) are to keep this game close, or potentially win it, Suggs will need to have another big night.

PG Jose Alvarado, NOP | DK: $4.6k, FD: $4.4k | vs. IND

The Pelicans have been perhaps the unluckiest team in the NBA when it has come to early injuries this season. Dejounte Murray (hand), CJ McCollum (adductor), and Herbert Jones (shoulder) are all out for multiple weeks. Trey Murphy III (hamstring) is still a week or two away, at least, from making his season debut and backup guard Jordan Hawkins (back spasms), who has provided a nice scoring boost off the bench, is questionable tonight as well. So, Jose Alvarado is getting his shot to play a key starting role for the time being. In his first start of the season on Wednesday, Alvarado logged 35 minutes and contributed in all five categories (16 pts., 5 rebs., 4 ast., 2 blk., 1 stl.) and put up a healthy 35.75 DKFP/36.0 FDFP. Alvarado is once again projected for low-to-mid 30s minutes again tonight and he’s simply too cheap at these mid-$4k salaries. Expect him to be a $6k+ player soon if he continues to hang onto this starting role for the immediate future.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Trae Young, ATL vs. SAC

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC at POR (FD Only)

PG LaMelo Ball, CHA vs. BOS

PG Cade Cunningham, DET vs. NYK

SG/SF Anthony Edwards, MIN at DEN (FD Only)

PG/SG Donovan Mitchell, CLE vs. ORL

PG Tyrese Haliburton, IND at NOP

SG/SF Cam Thomas, BKN vs. CHI

PG Josh Giddey, CHI at BKN (Boost if Z. LaVine is out)

PG/SG Dennis Schroder, BKN vs. CHI

PG/SG Jaden Ivey, DET vs. NYK

SG/SF Gradey Dick, TOR vs. LAL

PG/SG Payton Pritchard, BOS at CHA

SG/SF Kevin Huerter, SAC at ATL

PG/SG Anthony Black, ORL at CLE

SG Ziaire Williams, BKN vs. CHI

PG/SG Cameron Payne, NYK at DET (DK Punt Play)

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

SF RJ Barrett, TOR | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.9k | vs. LAL

Barrett got a late jump on the season, missing the Raptors’ first three contests due to a shoulder injury. But his return came at a good time with the Raptors down two key players -- Scottie Barnes (orbital fracture) and Immanuel Quickley (hip/doubtful). In the two games he has played, Barrett has scored 25.5 PPG while accounting for an excellent 32.0% USG%. He’s shooting 50% from three to start his 2024-25 campaign and should continue to lead the Raptors in usage for the time being. Toronto is a near-double-digit underdog at home to the Lakers but Barrett will need to go off if they’re hoping to win this game.

SF Zaccharie Risacher, ATL | DK: $4.5k, FD: $4.8k | vs. SAC

The Hawks are another team being plagued by some early season injuries so this year’s No. 1 overall pick, Zaccharie Risacher, has been thrust into a more prominent role sooner than expected. He should receive his fourth consecutive start tonight and is coming off of the best game of his very young career on Wednesday against the Wizards where he supplied 17 points and produced 33.0 DKFP/33.2 FDFP across 35 minutes of action. This sets up as another fantasy-friendly environment for Risacher to pay off his modest salaries with relative ease.

PF/C Jonathan Isaac, ORL | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4.3k | at CLE

The Magic tend to be very careful with Isaac’s minutes due to his extensive injury history, but they may have no choice but to play him 20+ minutes on a regular basis while Banchero remains sidelined. Isaac has only appeared in two games this season, playing a total of 25 minutes, but he has averaged a very strong 1.27 FPPM. If Orlando lets him handle 20-25 minutes tonight, he’d be a great bet to return 6x-8x value. “Will he get those minutes?” is the main question.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS at CHA

PF/C Zion Williamson, NOP vs. IND

PF Jalen Johnson, ATL vs. SAC

SF/SG Brandon Ingram, NOP vs. IND

PF Pascal Siakam, IND at NOP

PF Julius Randle, MIN at DEN (FD Only)

SF Franz Wagner, ORL at CLE

SF/SG Mikal Bridges, NYK at DET

SF/PF Josh Hart, NYK at DET

SF/SG Christian Braun, DEN at MIN (FD Only)

SF/PF Rui Hachimura, LAL at TOR

SF/SG Jordan Hawkins, NOP vs. IND (Currently questionable)

PF/C Jonathan Mogbo, TOR vs. LAL (Only if starting again)

SF David Roddy, ATL vs. SAC (Preferred if starting again)

PF/C Jericho Sims, NYK at DET (Only if K. Towns is out)

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Nikola Vucevic, CHI | DK: $7.7k, FD: $7.9k | at BKN

Vucevic just continues to “get it done” at a consistent level, averaging 20.2 PPG and 11.0 RPG and scoring no fewer than 37.75 DKFP/34.7 FDFP in any of his five games this season. He’s also one of those big men who puts up a handful of three-pointers per game, and for good reason -- Vuc is currently sinking 45.8% of his 3PA. Should Zach LaVine (shoulder/questionable) miss this contest, Vuc would also see a notable usage boost. The Nets have been a bottom-10 rebounding team and currently rank 25th versus starting centers (via LineStar’s Team DEF tool). In a game that features the closest spread of the night (CHI +2), I don’t think you can go wrong with a sub-$8k Vucevic.

C Luke Kornet, BOS | DK: $3.4k, FD: $3.9k | at CHA

With Kristaps Porzingis (foot) still weeks away from making his season debut and Al Horford (load management) getting his first game off, Luke Kornet becomes a pretty clear and obvious value pick as he should slot into the Celtics’ starting center role. Kornet started several games last season and rarely disappointed at his low-end salaries. He has averaged 1.18 FPPM his last five games as a starter and, while Boston does have guys like Xavier Tillman and Neemias Queta who can eat up some center minutes, Kornet should be given the lion’s share -- likely around 24-28 minutes tonight.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. MIN (FD Only)

C Anthony Davis, LAL at TOR

C Domantas Sabonis, SAC at ATL

C Chet Holmgren, OKC at POR (FD Only)

C Jakob Poeltl, TOR vs. LAL

C Nick Richards, CHA vs. BOS

PF/C Moritz Wagner, ORL at CLE

C Yves Messi, NOP vs. IND (Currently questionable -- Boost if D. Theis is out)

C Daniel Theis, NOP vs. IND (Currently questionable -- Boost if Y. Missi is out)
