Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Cade Cunningham, DET | DK: $9.3k, FD: $9.4k | vs. CHI

Cunningham continued his high level of play against the Wizards last night where he poured in a 21/10/10 triple-double with five steals and a block in just 31 minutes. He now has four triple-doubles in his last eight games and is averaging nearly 1.50 FPPM in that span. Next on deck is a positive match-up versus the Bulls who are the fastest-paced team in the NBA. Chicago also checks in at a poor 25th in DEFRTG and has ranked dead last versus starting PGs (via LineStar Team DEF tool).

PG Fred VanVleet, HOU | DK: $6.8k, FD: $7.1k | at MIL

We knew it was only a matter of time before VanVleet turned up the production and he now has back-to-back performances of at least 48.25 DKFP/45.4 FDFP. He’s still checking in at a modest 10% pOwn% (DK)/6% pOwn% (FD) so he shouldn’t be overly popular on this slate. It’s not a bad match-up as the Rockets are +4.5 road underdogs and the Bucks have ranked at a subpar 21st versus starting PGs. As long as he continues to improve his three-point shooting (31.5% 3P% on 7.1 3PA/gm this season versus 37.4% 3P% for his career), then he’ll often pop for those 45+ FP games.

PG/SG Jared McCain, PHI | DK: $5.8k, FD: $6.1k | at MIA

Rookie Jared McCain will be one of the highest-owned players on the slate but he’s been one of the few bright spots for this 2-10 76ers team. Tyrese Maxey (hamstring/out) is still a little ways away from making his return and now Joel Embiid (illness/doubtful) isn’t looking likely to suit up tonight. That should make McCain a top-two scoring option, alongside Paul George. McCain posted a massive 37.7% USG% in his first start of the season last Wednesday (no Embiid, Maxey, or George that game) and then followed it up with a rock-solid 27.8% USG% on Friday -- worth noting, both Embiid and George were playing that game but Maxey was, of course, still sidelined. Per the Team DEF tool, the Heat are 21st versus starting SGs this season and they’re coming in on the back end of a back-to-back while the 76ers should be fresh on three days rest. Even without Embiid and Maxey, this is a winnable game as the 76ers are only three-point underdogs, but they’ll need another big game out of McCain to pull off the slight upset.

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Pascal Siakam, IND | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.3k | at TOR

Siakam hasn’t been consistently strong from a DFS perspective lately, but we know he can pop off for the occasional 50+ FP and, at these low-$7k price points, he should be a reliable option in this match-up tonight as the Raptors are 21st versus starting power forwards this season. Siakam is also shooting an excellent 46.7% from three-point range and he has also been better on the road this season where he has averaged 1.18 FPPM (versus 0.96 FPPM at home). Siakam’s floor and ceiling could also rise if Myles Turner (calf/questionable) is ruled out. In 83 minutes with Turner, along with the other injured Pacers, off the court this season, Siakam has seen a +7.1 fantasy point per 32-minute boost along with a slight usage bump. Siakam could also have a little extra motivation tonight as he returns to his old stomping grounds in Toronto, where he spent the first nine years of his NBA career.

SF/PF Jarace Walker, IND | DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.6k | at TOR

We’ll stay on the Pacers and put a spotlight on an affordable Jarace Walker, who could be in line to make his first start of the season. The Pacers are a bit shorthanded at the moment due to injuries so, even if he isn’t starting, Walker should receive solid minutes off of the bench tonight… but, of course, we’ll like him much better if he does indeed start. Walker has averaged just over a fantasy point per minute this season and the Pacers have one of the highest projected totals (118.5) on the slate versus this Raptors team that is 28th in DEFRTG.

PF Nikola Jovic, MIA | DK: $3.7k, FD $4.9k | vs. PHI

Due to pricing discrepancies, Jovic profiles as a much better value on DraftKings where he is just $3,700. Jovic started the first eight games of the season but has since been moved to a bench role. Jovic’s new role with the second unit seems to be working out as he has posted at least 22.5 DKFP in three of his four games off of the bench, and he played at least 30 minutes in his last two games. So, if you need a cheap forward with plenty of 6x potential (on DraftKings), keep Jovic on the radar.

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK | DK: $9k, FD: $9.2k | vs. WAS

KAT continues to put up some monster numbers and, unlike the rest of his fellow starting teammates, he didn’t log massive minutes last night (30 minutes played) so the back-to-back factor shouldn’t be a major concern. KAT has put up at least 51.75 DKFP/49.6 FDFP in seven of his last nine games and he is sinking 50% of his three-pointers this season while bringing in 12.4 rebounds per game. The match-up also doesn’t get much better as the Wizards are 2nd in pace, dead last in DEFRTG, and rank 29th versus starting centers. Towns is going to be major chalk tonight but the simple fact is that he just isn’t priced where he needs to be (should be $10k by now) and he is in a smash spot at home.

C Mason Plumlee, PHX | DK: $4.8k, FD: $4.2k | vs. ORL

Jusuf Nurkic (ankle/out) will be missing his second game of the season so the Suns, who are already without Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, will be handing Mason Plumlee another start. Plumlee actually started alongside Nurkic yesterday but struggled a bit in his 29 minutes before fouling out. However, in the game that Nurkic missed entirely, Plumlee posted a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double while tacking on two assists and a block -- good for 39.0 DKFP/37.8 FDFP. Orlando (2nd in DEFRTG, 2nd versus starting centers) does represent a tough match-up but Plumlee could still easily hit value at these sub-$5k price points.
