DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A solid eight-game main slate lands on the Wednesday schedule! A couple of teams are very shorthanded on this slate and, in the case of the Pelicans, it’d probably be easier to list off their healthy players than the injured ones. Value should not be tough to come by today so we’ll have plenty of ways to attack this one. Let’s get to it! Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Steph Curry, GSW | DK: $9.1k, FD: $8.7k | vs. ATL

Curry is dealing with a bit of knee inflammation but it’s not an issue that is expected to hinder him much, if at all, considering he is tagged with a “probable” designation today. He has popped for several huge vintage Steph Curry games this season and will land in a strong spot versus the Hawks tonight. Both teams in this game are top-five in pace (GSW: 5th, ATL: 3rd) so there should be ample possessions tonight and it’s not a shock to see a massive 238.5 O/U pinned here. The Hawks are also 22nd in DEFRTG and have rated out at 23rd versus starting PGs on the season. Curry has posted an excellent 30.3% USG% while providing great peripherals for a guard -- 6.4 APG, 5.3 RPG, 2.4 STL+BLK/gm. He’s shooting a typical Curry-esque 42.7% from three while attempting 9.6 3PA/gm. This will only be Curry’s fourth home game played this season but he has been more effective on his home court, averaging 1.60 FPPM (vs. 1.49 FPPM on the road) and sinking 46.2% of his threes. We’ll see if he can channel some of the same energy he had the last time he faced the Hawks (Feb. 3rd last season) where he dropped SIXTY points and 79.5 DKFP/74.2 FDFP.

PG Fred VanVleet, HOU | DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.8k | vs. IND

VanVleet has been a mainstay in these newsletters lately and for good reason. He’s finally seeing some positive regression in his three-point shooting and has just been more involved offensively in general. In FVV’s L5Games, he’s up to a 23.6% USG% (vs. 19.2% USG% on the season) and has averaged 18.8 PPG on 17.0 FGA/gm to go along with stellar peripherals -- 6.8 APG, 6.4 RPG, and 2.8 STL+BLK/gm. Overall, it has led to 43.6 DKFP/43.9 FDFP per game. His DFS salaries are creeping up in response to the elevated performances, but I believe there’s still meat on the bone at his current price points. It’s another strong match-up for him as the Pacers are above average in pace, 23rd in DEFRTG, and have ranked 24th versus starting PGs this season. One Rockets injury impact to watch is Jalen Green’s (illness/questionable) availability. If Green sits out tonight (would be his first missed game of the season), that would only increase VanVleet’s upside. In 165 minutes with Jalen Green off the court this season, FVV has seen a +3.7 percentage point boost to his USG% and has averaged +4.9 fantasy points per 32 minutes.

PG Ty Jerome, CLE | DK: $4.5k, FD: $4.7k | vs. NOP

With the Pelicans rolling out a G-League-looking lineup tonight, the Cavaliers, who are on the second leg of a back-to-back following their first loss of the season, are taking this time to rest some guys who are a little banged up. Some guys would likely be out regardless but, overall, the Cavs’ backcourt will be without Darius Garland, Caris LeVert, Sam Merill, and Isaac Okoro. Darius Garland’s absence is the most important one since that should open up a spot in the startling lineup for Ty Jerome tonight. Jerome has averaged a terrific 1.18 FPPM this season but his minutes can be unpredictable off of the bench. But in his lone start, which came against the Hornets this past Sunday when Donovan Mitchell was out for rest purposes, Jerome logged 32 minutes and posted a 24/8/2 stat line while owning a 23.5% USG% -- good for 39.5 DKFP/36.4 FDFP. The Cavs (-13) should have no trouble winning against the depleted Pelicans but, assuming he plays around 30 minutes, Ty Jerome is going to stand out as one of the best values on the slate.

Other Guards to Consider

PG James Harden, LAC vs. ORL

PG/SG Donovan Mitchell, CLE vs. NOP

PG Damian Lillard, MIL vs. CHI

PG/SG Dyson Daniels, ATL at GSW

PG/SG Coby White, CHI at MIL

SG/SF Bennedict Mathurin, IND at HOU

PG/SG Brandon Boston Jr., NOP at CLE

PG/SG Jared McCain, PHI at MEM (Preferred if T. Maxey remains out)

PG Josh Giddey, CHI at MIL

PG Tyus Jones, PHX vs. NYK

PG/SG Shaedon Sharpe, POR at OKC (Boost if A. Simons is out)

SG/SF Amen Thompson, HOU vs. IND (Boost if Ja. Green is out)

PG/SG Delano Banton, POR at OKC

PG TJ McConnell, IND at HOU

PG/SG Kris Dunn, LAC vs. ORL

PG Kevin Porter Jr., LAC vs. ORL

SG Lindy Waters III, GSW vs. ATL (Only if starting again)

PG Craig Porter Jr., CLE vs. NOP

SG/SF Antonio Reeves, NOP at CLE

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL | DK: $11.5k, FD: $11.7k | vs. CHI

Value is not hard to come by today but there also aren’t a ton of appealing studs to spend the savings on. As such, Giannis is going to be a popular target, as he often is. But it’s a great spot at home versus the Bulls -- the fastest-paced team in the NBA with a poor 24th DEFRTG. Giannis has been at his best at home where he’s averaging 35.4 PPG and 64.0 DKFP/gm (versus 26.7 PPG and 55.1 DKFP/gm on the road). Giannis, who is averaging 12.4 RPG, is also a near lock for a double-double versus a Bulls team that is 22nd in Rebounding%. Overall, this game tops the slate with a 239.0 O/U and, as 8.5-point favorites, the Bucks own a slate-leading 123.8 implied team total. It’s not tough to assume that Giannis will do a lot of damage tonight.

SF/PF Tari Eason, HOU | DK: $5.6k, FD: $6.4k | vs. IND

Eason almost always flies under the radar since he plays off of the bench and doesn’t necessarily have the safest minutes floor. But he has played at least 25 minutes in seven of the last 10 games and he has averaged an outstanding 1.20 FPPM on the season. Eason has cleared 29.5 DKFP/33.2 FDFP in five of his last six games with a ceiling of 42.0 DKFP/47.3 FDFP in that span. The Rockets have won five of their last six games, with the lone loss being by one point to the Bucks on Monday, and Eason being a huge spark off the bench is a big reason for the recent success. As long as he’s out there for 25+ minutes again tonight, I doubt he’ll disappoint.

PF/C Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, NOP | DK: $4.7k, FD: $4.5k | at CLE

The Pelicans may be running as low as an eight-man rotation tonight due to the boatload of injuries they’re experiencing. JRE has averaged just 0.77 FPPM on the season but he should be in line for a sizable uptick in usage and minutes this evening. Even in the event of a blowout, he may be out there for 35+ minutes regardless while operating as a top-three offensive option. There are perhaps more tantalizing value plays out there today, but at least one or two of these Pelicans will have a strong chance to be optimal plays tonight.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Franz Wagner, ORL at LAC

PF Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM vs. PHI

PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE vs. NOP

SF/SG Zach LaVine, CHI at MIL

PF/C Draymond Green, GSW vs. ATL

SF/SG Luguentz Dort, OKC vs. POR

PF Javonte Green, NOP at CLE

PF/C Obi Toppin, IND at HOU (Preferred if M. Turner is out again)

SF Dillon Brooks, HOU vs. IND

PF/C Oso Ighodaro, PHX vs. NYK (Preferred if starting again)

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK | DK: $9.4k, FD: $9.3k | at PHX

KAT was on track for another monster night versus the hapless Wizards on Monday but the blowout factor limited him to just 25 minutes. His 46.5 DKFP/42.9 FDFP result was far from bad, but it could’ve been much, much better had he played closer to his season average of 32.9 Min/gm. After a couple of sluggish starts to begin the season, KAT’s success with the Knicks since the calendar flipped to November has been well-documented. He’s simply playing at an elite level while averaging 1.57 FPPM and he likely deserves to be a $10k player by now. On the match-up side of things, there are no major issues. The Suns have ranked 19th versus starting centers this season and if Jusuf Nurkic (ankle/questionable) is forced to miss another game, thus giving Mason Plumlee another spot start, then the match-up likely improved even more for Towns.

PF/C Robert Williams, POR | DK: $4.4k, FD: $5.4k | at OKC

On-court production has never been the issue for Robert Williams but a slew of injuries have plagued him the last few years. Williams returned to action on Nov. 8th and has since played in four games while averaging a studly 1.44 FPPM. Williams has played 25 minutes off of the bench in his last two games, which coincides with starting center Deandre Ayton (finger/doubtful) being sidelined. With Ayton likely out again tonight, Williams should once again play quality minutes off of the bench behind presumed starting center Donovan Clingan (DK: $4.5k, FD: $5.2k), who is also shaping up as an appealing value center option.

Other Centers to Consider

C Jalen Williams, OKC vs. POR

C Alperen Sengun, HOU vs. IND

C Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. ORL

C Brook Lopez, MIL vs. CHI

C Goga Bitadze, ORL at LAC

C Mason Plumlee, PHX vs. NYK (Only if Nurkic is out again)

C Donovan Clingan, POR at OKC

C Brandon Clarke, MEM vs. PHI (Only if starting again)

C Jalen Smith, CHI at MIL
