DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰
Happy Thursday! Eight games are on the docket this evening, though, DraftKings will exclude the lone 10 o’clock ET tipoff (HOU @ GSW) bringing their main slate total down to seven games. We could be in line for a fairly high-scoring night of NBA action as four games possess totals of at least 232 points -- three of those games have spreads under five points. There will be a handful of key injuries to track but, for the most part, the big names who are dealing with various injuries have already been ruled out. Let’s get after it! Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
PG Luka Doncic, DAL | DK: $11.2k, FD: $11.7k | at WAS
We should have no major problems finding value on this slate so Luka should turn into a prime target today. Since returning from a wrist injury that held him out for five games, Doncic has gone for over 70 DKFP/69 FDFP in back-to-back contests, averaging 36.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 8.5 APG, and 4.0 STL+BLK/gm on a 31.8% USG%. Washington, a team that is 4th in pace and 29th in DEFRTG, has also ranked 28th versus starting PGs L10Games (via LineStar Team DEF tool). The Mavs also own a slate-leading 123.0 implied team total. The only hurdle to get past is whether or not the Wizards -- 14-point home underdogs -- can keep this game close deep into the fourth quarter. If they can (and it’s a big “if”), we’ll likely see another 70+ FP night out of Luka.
PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.5k | at MEM
It appears as if Malik Monk has shed his sixth-man role and will remain a member of the starting five for the foreseeable future. He’s been lights out over his last four games (two starts/two games off the bench) where he has averaged 1.33 FPPM and 47.5 DKFP/44.8 FDFP. Now that he’s more likely to handle around 35 minutes on a nightly basis, Monk should continue to churn out these 40+ FP performances. It also doesn’t hurt that the Kings (18th in pace) are getting a very positive pace differential versus the Grizzlies (3rd in pace), and this game leads the slate with its hefty 242 over/under. In his newly expanded role, FanDuel has Monk priced about where he needs to be at $7,500, and he remains firmly in play there. But $6,700 on DraftKings feels like a pretty clear bargain.
PG/SG Miles McBride, NYK | DK: $4.1k, FD: $4.6k | vs. CHA
There are some cheaper guards that I’m skipping over who are poised for strong nights, but, as usual, they will be listed below. McBride has been a nice spark off of the Knicks bench throughout the early season, and nothing has changed since he returned from a knee injury that held him out for five games. In his previous five games, McBride is averaging 12.6 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.6 APG, 1.0 STL+BLK/gm, and 1.02 FPPM across 23.4 Min/gm. I like his chances of taking on a few additional minutes tonight as the Knicks are at home, where they own a 7-2 record, and they’re the largest favorites on the slate against the Hornets who are without two of their best players (LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges). I could see things playing out in a similar fashion as the Knicks’ last game versus the Magic on Tuesday. In that game, which they won by 15 points, the Knicks had a sizable lead late, which led to Jalen Bruson sitting out the entirety of the fourth quarter while McBride played most of the 4Q minutes, resulting in a 31.25 DKFP/28.60 FDFP night. Even if that isn’t how things play out, we can look back on the last game the Knicks had against the Hornets, which was only six days ago. The Knicks barely scraped by with a 99-98 victory and McBride still logged 27 minutes and closed the game with the starters (he played the entire 4Q). So, all of that to say, keep McBride on the value radar tonight. He shouldn’t be overly high-owned (8% DK pOwn%, 2% FD pOwn%) and has a solid shot at returning 6x (or better) value.
Other Guards to Consider
PG/SG Devin Booker, PHX at NOP
PG/SG Donovan Mitchell, CLE vs. DEN
SG/SF Brandon Miller, CHA at NYK
PG Darius Garland, CLE vs. DEN
PG Chris Paul, SAS vs. CHI
PG/SG Ayo Dosunmu, CHI at SAS (Boost if J. Giddey is out)
SG Devin Vassell, SAS vs. CHI
PG Spencer Dinwiddie, DAL at WAS
PG/SG Marcus Smart, MEM vs. SAC
SG/SF Jaylen Wells, MEM vs. SAC
PG KJ Simpson, CHA at NYK
FanDuel Main Slate Only
SG Jalen Green, HOU at GSW (Preferred if F. VanVleet is out)
SG/SF Amen Thompson, HOU at GSW (Preferred if F. VanVleet is out)
SG/SF Brandin Podziemski, GSW vs. HOU
PG/SG Buddy Hield, GSW vs. HOU
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
SF/PF Josh Hart, NYK | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.4k | vs. CHA
There aren’t many star forwards on this slate so it’s going to be a good day to focus on the mid-range and value salary tiers. Josh Hart is coming off his second triple-double of the season, posting an 11/13/10 line with three steals (50.75 DKFP/46.6 FDFP) across 39 minutes versus the Magic on Tuesday. Rarely can you find a guy with triple-double upside at these price points and Josh Hart is just one of the premier guys in the NBA who isn’t afraid to do the dirty work. He isn’t going to explode for 30+ points but he will stuff the stat sheet most nights and he often plays upwards of 40 minutes even in blowouts, as this game tonight could be. Hart can be a bit volatile, just because of the low usage rate, but he went for a solid 40.0 DKFP/37.9 FDFP (13/12/5 w/ two steals) against the Hornets last week and I’d expect a similar, if not better, result tonight.
PF Santi Aldama, MEM | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6.2k | vs. SAC
Aldama continues to put up quality results off of the Grizzlies’ bench and has now scored at least 32.5 DKFP/31.8 FDFP in five of his last six games. He’s averaging an excellent 1.30 FPPM in that stretch, and while he’s not a high-volume shooter, he is sinking 68.9% of his shots L5Games, including a blistering 64.3% from three-point range. Memphis is mostly healthy now, but if Aldama pushed for close to 30 minutes again tonight, I don’t see him posting a dud in this game, which, as mentioned, carries a slate-high 242 over/under.
SF Talen Horton-Tucker, CHI | DK: $3.1k, FD: $4.1k | at SAS
THT has been a consistent contributor with the Bulls’ second unit lately, and he’s looking like a nice source of value tonight, especially at his DK salary, which is just $100 above the stone minimum. Though he’s averaging just 15.6 Min/gm L5Games, Horton-Tucker has racked up an impressive 1.35 FPPM average in that stretch, resulting in a 21.1 DKFP/20.1 FDFP per game. If you need a cheapie for “stars and scrubs” builds, THT is a good value option to start with. Note: he is only SG-eligible on FanDuel.
Other Forwards to Consider
SF/PG Scottie Barnes, TOR vs. OKC
SF/PF RJ Barrett, TOR vs. OKC
PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE vs. DEN
PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM vs. SAC
PF Jeremy Sochan, SAS vs. CHI
PF Aaron Gordon, DEN at CLE
PF/C Alexandre Sarr, WAS vs. DAL
SF/PF Royce O’Neale, PHX at NOP
PF Tidjane Salaun, CHA at NYK
PF Julian Phillips, CHI at SAS (Only if starting again)
SF/PF Matas Buzelis, CHI at SAS
FanDuel Main Slate Only
SF/PF Jonathan Kuminga, GSW vs. HOU
PF Jabari Smith, HOU at GSW
Centers to Consider 🏀
C Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK | DK: $9k, FD: $9.2k | vs. CHA
KAT has cooled off in recent games, but he’s still a guy who should probably be priced closer to $10k given his penchant for 50-to-60+ FP performances. The Hornets have been surprisingly effective against starting centers this season but Towns has shown that he can feast in just about any match-up. If the Hornets (+14.5) make this into a game, KAT could very well spike for a 60+ FP night while carrying single-digit ownership.
C Yves Missi, NOP | DK: $5.1k, FD: $6.1k | vs. PHX
Missi has had a few 40+ FP spike games recently and the Suns have not been great versus the five, ranking 26th against starting centers L20Games, allowing 38.2 DKFP/38.1 FDFP per game to the position in that span. The Pelicans have gotten their backcourt healthier over the last week or so but they’re still without Zion Williamson in the frontcourt and now backup center Daniel Theis is out, so Missi’s minutes are looking pretty secure tonight. He is averaging 1.20 FPPM L5Games and should be in line for 30-35 minutes this evening.
C Zach Collins, SAS | DK: $3.5k, FD: $5.8k | vs. CHI
C Charles Bassey, SAS | DK: $3k, FD: $5.5k | vs. CHI
Just a quick hit here in case DraftKings players don’t pick up on this obvious Spurs center value. The news that Victor Wembanyama (back) would be out for tonight’s game broke yesterday around 5 o’clock ET. FanDuel reacted to this by pricing up both Zach Collins and Charles Bassey to essentially where they should be priced -- DraftKings did not. As a result, Collins and Bassey may be the two highest-owned players on the [DraftKings] slate. I expect many folks will opt to roster both centers for a combined $6,500. Considering Collins and Bassey could easily combine for 60+ FP, it’s tough to say that’s a bad idea. But you will certainly see every other viable center come in at very low ownership tonight, including studs like Jokic, KAT, Vucevic, etc.
Other Centers to Consider
C Nikola Jokic, DEN at CLE
C Nikola Vucevic, CHI at SAS
C Isaiah Hartenstein, OKC at TOR
C Jakob Poeltl, TOR vs. OKC (Currently questionable)
C Nick Richards, CHA at NYK
C Jonas Valanciunas, WAS vs. DAL
C Dereck Lively II, DAL at WAS
C Jalen Smith, CHI at SAS
C Jonathan Mogbo, TOR vs. OKC (Major boost if J. Poeltl is out + Mogbo starts)
FanDuel Main Slate Only
C Alperen Sengun, HOU at GSW
