Main Slate Match-Ups w/ Game Totals & Point Spreads

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Trae Young, ATL | DK: $9.6k, FD: $9.9k | vs. PHX

We’ll likely want some pieces to this game between the Hawks and Suns which has a slate-high 249.5 over/under to go along with a close spread (ATL: +3.5). Trae Young has posted three strong performances since returning from a concussion, scoring at least 52.0 DKFP/45.9 FDFP in each contest. The Suns have also been allowing some big games to starting PGs lately, ranking 23rd versus the position L20Games. Under the right conditions, we know Young can go off for 60+ FP and this looks like a potential spot for him to do just that tonight.

PG/SG Jalen Green, HOU | DK: $6.8k, FD: $7.6k | vs. TOR

I have my doubts about whether Jalen Green can maintain his current red-hot form, but he has been balling out lately. Over his last five games, he’s averaging a superb 1.41 FPPM and 50.5 DKFP/48.9 FDFP per game while posting a 29.6% USG%. His minutes have also seen a noticeable uptick. Across 47 games this season, Green is averaging 30.5 Min/gm but he’s up to 35.9 Mins/gm L5Games. One of the bigger names we’ll be monitoring on the injury report today will be Rockets center Alperen Sengun (illness/questionable). If Sengun happens to be ruled out, Green may be the biggest beneficiary. In 217 minutes with Sengun off the floor this season, Green has seen a team-leading +8.7 percentage point increase in his usage rate.

PG Scotty Pippen Jr., MEM | DK: $4.9k, FD: $5.5k | vs. GSW

This play may hinge on Luke Kennard (knee/questionable) sitting out another game but if he is out again and/or Pippen remains in the starting lineup, then we can feel good about targeting him as a value guard option. The Grizzlies are on the second leg of a back-to-back but Pippen only logged 22 minutes last night, so fatigue should not be a major factor. He’s up to a solid 1.09 FPPM this season and was able to rack up 29.0 DKFP/30.8 FDFP in those 22 minutes last night. The Warriors offer a moderate pace-up boost for Memphis and they’re not particularly stout defensively (GSW: 22nd in DEFRTG) so it’s not a bad match-up by any stretch.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $10.3k, FD: $11.3k | vs. CHA

PG/SG Devin Booker, PHX | DK: $9.9k, FD: $9.8k | @ ATL

SG/SF Brandon Ingram, NOP | DK: $7.7k, FD: $8.2k | @ SAS (Boost if Z. Williamson is out)

PG Fred VanVleet, HOU | DK: $6.9k, FD: $8k | vs. TOR (DK Preferred)

PG/SG Tyler Herro, MIA | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7k | @ WAS

PG Mike Conley, MIN | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.6k | vs. ORL

SG Kevin Huerter, SAC | DK: $5.1k, FD: $6.1k | @ IND

PG/SG Amen Thompson, HOU | DK: $3.9k, FD: $5.2k | vs. TOR (DK Preferred)

PG Josh Richardson, MIA | DK: $3.5k, FD: $4.9k | @ WAS (DK Preferred)

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8.6k | vs. GSW

While it hasn’t resulted in any massive, massive fantasy scores, Jackson has handled a ridiculous 38.2% USG% over the last five games, which leads all players on the entire slate. Memphis is so shorthanded these days that Jackson almost has no choice but to take the lead offensively. The Warriors have also ranked 23rd against starting PFs L20Games and, despite making just four of 20 shots when he faced Golden State on Jan. 15th, he was still able to come away with a respectable 42.75 DKFP/45.5 FDFP. We’re still waiting on another one of those huge 60+ FP ceiling type of games out of JJJ. Given how much usage he’s handling, it’s bound to happen sooner or later so he continues to be an enticing GPP target.

SF/PF Jonathan Kuminga, GSW | DK: $6.2k, FD: $7.3k | @ MEM

Kuminga has handled at least 29 minutes in six consecutive games and his inspired play off of the Warriors’ bench has led to him re-entering the starting rotation for the last two games. Kuminga’s usage rate during that six-game span has been 26.5%, which is tied for second on the team, and he’s averaging a strong 1.23 FPPM. Kuminga is going to be a popular option today, particularly on DraftKings where he’s still underpriced, but given his current role, he’s a difficult player to overlook on this slate.

SF/PF Aaron Wiggins, OKC | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4.2k | vs. CHA

The Thunder will be without Jalen Williams and Isaiah Joe for another game, which opens up some more involvement from a guy like Aaron Wiggins. Kenrich Williams started Wednesday’s game in place of Jalen Williams, but Wiggins started the second half and ended up playing 25 minutes to Kenrich Williams’ 17 minutes. Wiggins has posted a respectable 0.91 FPPM over his last five games and if he’s in line for 25-30 minutes again tonight, he should be a good bet to return value against the NBA’s worst defensive team (CHA: 30th in DEFRTG).

Other Forwards to Consider

PF/C Victor Wembanyama, SAS | DK: $9.3k, FD: $10.5k | vs. NOP (DK Preferred)

PF Kevin Durant, PHX | DK: $9.2k, FD: $9.7k | @ ATL

SF/PF Kawhi Leonard, LAC | DK: $8.8k, FD: $9.5k | @ DET

PF/C Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.5k | vs. ORL (Boost if R. Gobert is out)

SF Jimmy Butler, MIA | DK: $7.8k, FD: $8.6k | @ WAS (DK Preferred)

PF Jalen Johnson, ATL | DK: $7.4k, FD: $8.1k | vs. PHX

PF Keegan Murray, SAC | DK: $6.1k, FD: $6.7k | @ IND

SF Aaron Nesmith, IND | DK: $5.7k, FD: $6.6k | vs. SAC

SF/PF Andrew Wiggins, GSW | DK: $5.6k, FD: $5.8k | @ MEM

SF/PF Jordan Nwora, TOR | DK: $4.4k, FD: $4.9k | @ HOU (Pending TOR injury news)

SF/PF Corey Kispert, WAS | DK: $3.4k, FD: $4.2k | vs. MIA

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Domantas Sabonis, SAC | DK: $10.4k, FD: $10.2k | @ IND

Sabonis is a constant triple-double threat and he’s coming off of a huge 19/17/13 triple-double in his last game against the Heat on Wednesday. This will be a great spot for Sabonis as the Pacers allow the most points in the paint per game and check in at 24th in rebounding%. This game also has the highest combined pace on the slate so there will be plenty of possessions to go around in this one.

C Jaylin Williams, OKC | DK: $3k, FD: $4k | vs. CHA

This is mainly a DraftKings punt play recommendation since Jaylin Williams is priced at the stone minimum of $3,000. Williams has seen steadier minutes off of the bench in recent games and he’s averaging a solid 0.95 FPPM L20Games. This game also has a sizable amount of blowout potential based on OKC being 15-point home favorites, so there’s a chance for Williams to pick up a few extra ‘garbage time’ minutes as well. However it shakes out, if he puts up just 18.0 DKFP, that’s 6x value [on DraftKings] and we’re free to load up on multiple high-end players elsewhere.

Other Centers to Consider

C Bam Adebayo, MIA | DK: $8.4k, FD: $8.7k | @ WAS

C Chet Holmgren, CHA | DK: $7.6k, FD: $8.2k | vs. CHA

C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $7k, FD: $7.8k | vs. ORL (Currently questionable)

C Jonas Valanciunas, NOP | DK: $6.4k, FD: $7.4k | @ SAS

C Jock Landale, HOU | DK: $3k, FD: $3.8k | vs. TOR (Only if Sengun is out)
