DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰
The NBA In-Season Tournament continues tonight, and we’ll have a not-so-crazy-but-still-sizable nine-game slate on the docket! Just like last Friday (the first night of In-Season Tournament games), we should approach this slate like any other. Some starters may see a slight uptick in their minutes, but it’s certainly nothing to either count on or strategize around. Plenty of great games on the board today, so let’s dive into the action! Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
SG/SF Anthony Edwards, MIN | DK: $9k, FD: $9k | @ SAS
At a flat $9,000 on both sites, I believe we’re going to want some exposure to Anthony Edwards, who has poured in at least 49.75 DKFP/45.5 FDFP in four of his last five games. Edwards owns a team-high 32.4% USG%, and he’s averaging 27.9 PPG while shooting 43.2% from three-point range. His peripherals have also been strong -- 6.1 RPG, 5.3 APG, and 1.4 STL+BLK/gm. Edwards and the Timberwolves draw an excellent match-up against the Spurs, who have recently moved to dead last in defensive rating while allowing 125.9 PPG. It’s also a strong pace-up spot for the T-Wolves (23rd in pace) as the Spurs have played at the 9th fastest pace this season. Barring a blowout, should push for another 50+ FP night. It’s also worth noting that point differential does matter as a tiebreaker in this in-season tournament, so starters may continue to log big minutes even in the event of a blowout.
PG Tyrese Maxey, PHI | DK: $8.1k, FD: $8.8k | @ DET
It’s somewhat surprising to see Maxey’s DFS salaries remain in the $8k range. Through seven games this season, he has scored below 46.25 DKFP/42 FDFP just once and he’s gone for at least 50.75 DKFP/51.3 FDFP on three occasions. He’s of course going to fall second in line in the 76ers’ usage pecking order behind Joel Embiid, but he’s still getting it done with 25.4 PPG while contributing 7.0 APG, 5.1 RPG, and 1.6 STL+BLK/gm. The 76ers are also pushing the tempo early on this season. After ranking 27th in pace a season ago, they’re up to 12th in pace this season. Philadelphia (-9.5) is the second-heaviest favorite on the slate but, as mentioned in Edwards’ spotlight, so long as teams are taking this in-season tourney somewhat seriously, they’ll be less likely to pull their starters early (in a blowout) due to the tournament’s point differential tiebreaker playing a factor.
PG/SG Derrick White, BOS | DK: $5.7k, FD: $6.3k | vs. BKN
White is coming off of another strong performance against the 76ers on Wednesday where he racked up 38.0 DKFP/38.3 FDFP while playing a season-high 38 minutes. He did miss the two games prior to Wednesday’s action, but it was due to personal reasons so it’s nice to know that there is no lingering injury issue to worry about. Overall, White has been rock-solid in this Celtics lineup and he’s averaging a strong 1.08 FPPM. He also has at least three combined STL+BLKs in four of five games this season, so it’s great to know that he can contribute in those two premium stat categories that award big fantasy points. The Celtics lead the slate as -12 home favorites but (I promise, this is the last time I’ll mention it), again, point differential matters for this in-season tourney so blowouts become less of a worry in terms of starters getting pulled early. The Celtics should have no major issues handling a very short-handed Nets team that has ranked 24th in defensive rating this season.
Other Guards to Consider
PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $10.5k, FD: $11k | @ SAC
PG LaMelo Ball, CHA | DK: $10k, FD: $9.1k | @ WAS
SG Desmond Bane, MEM | DK: $8.5k, FD: $8.7k | vs. UTA
PG/SG Jrue Holiday, BOS | DK: $6.6k, FD: $7.1k | vs. BKN
SG Jalen Green, HOU | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.5k | vs. NOP
PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC | DK: $6k, FD: $5.9k | vs. OKC
SG/SF Lonnie Walker IV, BKN | DK: $5.9k, FD: $5.5k | @ BOS
SG Kevin Huerter, SAC | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.4k | vs. OKC
PG Mike Conley, MIN | DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.3k | @ SAS
PG Keyonte George, UTA | DK: $4.7k, FD: $4.3k | @ MEM (If he starts again)
SG Luke Kennard, MEM | DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.1k | vs. UTA
SG/SF Jae’Sean Tate, HOU | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4k | vs. NOP
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
PF Kyle Kuzma, WAS | DK: $8k, FD: $7.8k | vs. CHA
I expect this game between the Wizards and Hornets to be a popular target today. The two teams just met on Wednesday and combined for 242 points so, to no surprise, the immediate re-match today boasts a slate-high 240 over/under. Kuzma put up his best performance of the season against the Hornets two days ago, pouring in 33 points on 13/24 shooting and he corralled nine rebounds and dished four assists -- good for a season-high 51.25 DKFP/47.8 FDFP. Kuzma is now averaging a stout 1.43 FPPM over his last five starts. Both of these teams rank top-four in pace and bottom-three in defensive rating so there will be plenty of points, possessions, and peripheral stats to go around. At $8k/$7.8k DFS salaries, Kuzma has a similar floor/ceiling combo to many other forwards priced well above him on this slate.
SF/PF Gordon Hayward, CHA | DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.1k | @ WAS
We’ll stay in this same game with our second forward spotlight. In 76 minutes with Terry Rozier (groin/out) off the court this season, Hayward has picked up a team-high +5.83% usage boost while averaging +8.15 FP (per 48 minutes). At a $7,100 price tag on both sites, Hayward represents a strong floor play after posting at least 36.75 DKFP/37.9 FDFP in four consecutive games. No ceiling games yet for Hayward this season, but this would be the spot to do it against the fast pace and poor defensive play of the Wizards. Hayward is on the injury report with a hamstring issue but is listed as “probable” to play tonight so there are no major concerns there.
PF/C Trendon Watford, BKN | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4k | @ BOS
The Nets will be without Cam Thomas, Ben Simmons, and Nic Claxton tonight. It does appear as if they’ll get Cameron Johnson back for just his second game of the season, but we can probably expect Brooklyn to run a nine-man rotation as they did in their previous game on Wednesday. In that game, Watford handled a season-high 19 minutes and posted 22.75 DKFP/23 FDFP. Nothing crazy, but Watford can do quite a bit without a ton of minutes and he has averaged an impressive 1.40 FPPM in his three appearances this season. As long as he plays around 20 minutes tonight, he’s a great bet to return value on these bottom-of-the-barrel DFS salaries.
Other Forwards to Consider
PF Kevin Durant, PHX | DK: $10.2k, FD: $10.2k | vs. LAL
SF/PF LeBron James, LAL | DK: $9.6k, FD: $9.8k | @ PHX
PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.6k | vs. UTA
PF/C Chet Holmgren, OKC | DK: $7.8k, FD: $8.1k | @ SAC
SF/PF Royce O’Neale, BKN | DK: $5.6k, FD: $5.2k | @ BOS
PF Cameron Johnson, BKN | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.7k | @ BOS (DK Preferred -- Assuming little to no minutes restrictions)
SF/PF Tari Eason, HOU | DK: $3.8k, FD: $4.1k | vs. NOP
Centers to Consider 🏀
C Joel Embiid, PHI | DK: $11.2k, FD: $12.2k | @ DET
Embiid sets up as the go-to stud play once again today. He’s averaging an eye-popping 1.93 FPPM over his last five starts as a result of 32.8 PPG, 12.0 RPG, 5.4 APG, and 3.4 STL+BLK/gm in that stretch. The 76ers own a 117-implied point total against the Pistons today. In two of the three games that Philly has scored at least 117 points, Embiid has put up fantasy scores of 75.75 DKFP/75.2 FDFP (vs. WAS) and 81.25 DKFP/84.5 FDFP (vs. POR). This match-up with the Pistons isn’t quite as juicy as those previous two match-ups where Embiid went wild, but it’s still a potential 70+ FP spot for The Process.
C Bismack Biyombo, MEM | DK: $4.9k, FD: $5.2k | @ DET
Almost out of necessity, this depleted Grizzlies team signed Bismack Biyombo back on October 28th and, due to numerous injuries, Biyombo has slotted in as the starting center for the previous two games. With C Xavier Tillman (knee/out) set to miss a third straight game, Biyombo should be back in as the starting five tonight. He’s averaging just over an FPPM in his two starts thus far while averaging 27.6 Min/gm. Assuming he plays around 28-30 minutes tonight, he should provide 6x to 7x upside on both sites against a Jazz team that has allowed the 5th most points in the paint per game along with the 2nd most opponent blocks/gm (7.3) and the most opponent steals/gm (10.3). Biyombo will be fairly popular on this slate but there’s no question he provides some nice value at a low price point.
Other Centers to Consider
C Domantas Sabonis, SAC | DK: $9.9k, FD: $9.9k | vs. OKC
C Alperen Sengun, HOU | DK: $7.7k, FD: $8.3k | vs. NOP (DK Preferred -- Note: Sengun is currently questionable)
C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $6.8k, FD: $7.7k | @ SAS (DK Preferred)
C Jock Landale, HOU | DK: $3.4k, FD: $3.9k | vs. NOP (Only if Sengun is ruled out)
