DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

After an Election Day hiatus, the NBA gets right back to action in a big way. We’ve got another behemoth of a slate on tap with 12 games on the docket. Let’s go ahead and get into all of the key injury news for today before jumping into some DFS plays & props!

Quick Scheduling Note: The Dallas @ Orlando game was moved up to 5:30 PM ET and those players will not accrue points on the DraftKings main slate. For some reason, FanDuel chose to keep that game on their main slate, so be aware that those contests will lock at 5:30 ET!

Today’s Key Injury News (as of this afternoon):

  • Trailblazers: D. Lillard - Probable, A. Simons - Probable, J. Nurkic - Questionable, J. Grant - Questionable, J. Winslow - Probable, K. Johnson - Questionable

  • Hornets: G. Hayward - OUT, C. Martin - Doubtful

  • Pacers: C. Duarte - OUT, A. Nesmith - Questionable

  • Rockets: J. Tate - OUT, B. Fernando - OUT

  • Raptors: P. Siakam - OUT, K. Birch - OUT

  • Jazz: J. Vanderbilt - Questionable

  • Hawks: T. Young - Questionable

  • Knicks: M. Robinson - OUT

  • Nets: K. Irving - OUT, Y. Watanabe - OUT

  • Pelicans: L. Nance Jr. - Questionable

  • Bulls: C. White - OUT

  • Bucks: G. Antetokounmpo - OUT, J. Holiday - OUT

  • Thunder: A. Pokusevski - Questionable

  • Suns: C. Paul - OUT, C. Johnson - OUT

  • Grizzlies: S. Adams - Questionable

  • Spurs: Z. Collins - OUT, D. McDermott - Questionable

  • Lakers: L. James - Probable, A. Davis - Probable, L. Walker IV - Questionable

  • Clippers: K. Leonard - OUT

  • Kings: M. Monk - Questionable

For a 12-game slate, it’s not the craziest day for injuries but I would say the most impactful news comes from the Bucks and Suns.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

💫PG Tyrese Haliburton, IND | DK: $8.6k, FD: $8.8k | vs. DEN | Cash & GPP

Haliburton’s DFS salaries are slowly creeping up but, at $8.6k/$8.8k, they’re still not high enough to match where his production has been this season. He currently ranks second in the NBA with 9.7 APG and he’s contributing 21.7 PPG while shooting 46.3% from three-point land. Haliburton has posted four 50+ DKFP games within his last five starts and, in his five home games this season, he’s averaging a sturdy 50.5 DKFP. Both teams in this match-up rank top 10 in pace (IND: 5th, DEN: 10th), and, as a result, the highest implied total of 235.5 points resides here. Outside of one down performance against the Nets last Monday, Haliburton has retained a floor of 41.5 DKFP/37.2 FDFP in every other game this season.

💫PG/SG Cameron Payne, PHX | DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.6k | @ MIN | Cash & GPP

Chris Paul (heel/OUT) is one of the key injuries on this slate. With Paul sidelined, Cam Payne should land in the Suns’ starting lineup tonight. He’s been a very productive player off of the bench this season, averaging 1.08 DKFPPM. At his current DFS salaries, Payne has returned 6x-7x value on multiple occasions this season while playing under 20 minutes. With his minutes now expected to potentially push into the 30-35 range, he should be a great value target on this slate. This represents a major pace-up spot for the Suns (28th in pace) as they take on the Timberwolves, who are 4th in the NBA in pace.

💫SG/SF Grayson Allen, MIL | DK: $4.6k, FD: $4.2k | @ OKC | Cash & GPP

The Bucks continue to be without Khris Middleton and now Giannis and Jrue Holiday are both going to sit out in tonight’s game. PG/SG Jevon Carter (DK: $3.9k, FD: $3.8k) is going to be a popular value option tonight as well, but if we’re looking at who may get the largest usage bump, it could be Grayson Allen. Dating back to last season, when Giannis, Holiday, and Middleton are all off the court, Allen has seen a team-high +12.1% usage boost. He carries a rather pedestrian 16.1% USG% this season, but if that bumps up to around 28%, he could put up big numbers in this game relative to his salary.

Other Guards to Consider:

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $9.1k, FD: $9.8k | vs. MIL | GPP Preferred

💫PG/SG Devin Booker, PHX | DK: $9k, FD: $8.6k | @ MIN | Cash & GPP

PG/SG Fred VanVleet, TOR | DK: $8.1k, FD: $8.5k | vs. HOU | Cash & GPP

PG Darius Garland, CLE | DK: $6.9k, FD: $8k | @ SAC | Cash & GPP/DK Preferred

💫SG/SF Buddy Hield, IND | DK: $6.4k, FD: $7.4k | vs. DEN | Cash & GPP/DK Preferred

PG/SG Jevon Carter, MIL | DK: $3.9k, FD: $3.8k | @ OKC | Cash & GPP

PG TJ McConnell, IND | DK: $3.3k, FD: $3.8k | vs. DEN | GPP Preferred

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS | DK: $10.3k, FD: $10.3k | vs. DET | Cash & GPP

There is some blowout risk here (BOS -12.5) but if Detroit can keep this thing close for most of four quarters, it’s another excellent spot for Tatum to pop off. The 24-year-old superstar leads all forwards on the slate with 37.7 Min/Gm, and with Giannis out tonight, Tatum also leads all forwards today with 31.2 PPG. He’s also averaging 9.2 3PA/Gm which, again, paces all forwards today. As far as match-up goes, it doesn’t get much better than this. Detroit has been awful against opposing frontcourts and they rank 29th in defensive efficiency. As long as Boston isn’t winning this game by 20+ at the start of the 4th quarter, then Tatum should go wild in this match-up.

💫PF/C Bobby Portis, MIL | DK: $6.8k, FD: $5.9k | @ OKC | Cash & GPP

It’s hard to look past Bobby Portis today since he’s very likely to step into the starting lineup in place of Giannis. When Giannis sat out this past Saturday against OKC, Portis got the start and went on to post a huge 21-rebound double-double in 29 minutes which earned him 43.25 DKFP/39.2 FDFP. Jrue Holiday also played that game so, now that he is also out tonight, Portis’ offensive usage should see a major bump. With Giannis and Jrue off the court this season, Portis has seen a +9.2% USG% boost. He continues to be one of the best rebounders in the NBA with a 22.1% REB% and 11.1 RPG, despite averaging 25.5 Min/Gm. Foul trouble or unforeseen injuries can always happen, but I’m not sure how you can avoid Portis on FanDuel where he is only $5,900.

PF/C Kevin Love, CLE | DK: $4.9k, FD: $5k | @ SAC | GPP Preferred

KLove is one of the most intriguing GPP plays on a nightly basis. He doesn’t play big minutes and has a season-high of just 25 minutes, which came in his last game. But when he is on the court, he is an FPPM machine. He’s averaging an absurd 1.40 DKFPPM this season and an even crazier 1.63 DKFPPM in his last five games. For some comparison, Kevin Durant averages 1.35 DKFPPM and Jayson Tatum averages 1.39 DKFPPM. Love is roughly half the DK/FD price of both of those guys but he also handles around half of the minutes. You can’t trust him in a cash lineup but definitely keep him in mind for GPPs.

Other Forwards to Consider:

PF Zion Williamson, NOP | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.3k | @ CHI | GPP Preferred

💫PF Julius Randle, NYK | DK: $7.8k, FD: $7.2k | @ BKN | GPP/FD Preferred

SF/PF Lauri Markkanen, UTA | DK: $7.6k, FD: $8k | @ ATL | GPP Preferred

SF/PF Keldon Johnson, SAS | DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.4k | vs. MEM | Cash & GPP

PF/C Obi Toppin, NYK | DK: $3.8k, FD: $3.7k | @ BKN | GPP Preferred

Centers to Consider 🏀

💫C Jarrett Allen, CLE | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.1k | @ SAC | Cash & GPP

Jarrett Allen is a walking double-double who ranks 4th in the NBA in rebounds (12.2 RPG), trailing only Rudy Gobert, Nikola Vucevic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s coming off of a 20-rebound performance on Monday and he should continue to feast in this match-up with the Kings. Sacramento ranks middle-of-the-pack in rebound% but they’ve been awful at defending the paint, where they’ve allowed 54.7 PPG (3rd most). Allen stands out as a strong floor/ceiling play on this slate.

C Myles Turner, IND | DK: $5.7k, FD: $6.6k | vs. DEN | GPP Preferred

Well, Myles Turner definitely won’t be as sneaky as he was on Monday after he put up a ridiculous 62.5 DKFP/60.9 FDFP performance. But, as mentioned on Monday, Turner does have that insanely high ceiling on a nightly basis but foul trouble and injuries have been his major hang-ups throughout his career. I do worry about foul trouble coming into play since he has to deal with The Joker tonight. However, he has had some big games against the Nuggets in the past and will remain a top GPP option.

Other Centers to Consider:

C Nikola Jokic, DEN | DK: $11.6k, FD: $10.7k | @ IND | GPP/FD Preferred

C Nikola Vucevic, CHI | DK: $8k, FD: $8.2k | vs. NOP | Cash & GPP

C Brook Lopez, MIL | DK: $5.9k, FD: $6.3k | @ OKC | GPP Preferred

💫PF/C Isaiah Stewart, DET | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.6k | @ BOS | Cash & GPP

NBA Player Props 📊

Player Prop or Bet | Odds | Unit Bet Size

Grayson Allen OVER 14.5 Points | -115 (DraftKings) | 2.0 Units

To quote what was mentioned in Grayson Allen’s player spotlight above: “Going back to last season, when Giannis, Holiday, and Middleton are all off the court, Allen has seen a team-high +12.1% usage boost. He carries a rather pedestrian 16.1% USG% this season, but if that bumps up to around 28%, he could put up big numbers in this game relative to his salary.” Allen put up 19 points on Saturday when just Giannis (and Middleton, still) was out. He should put up even more shots now that Jrue is sidelined so we can feel pretty comfortable about taking the over on 14.5 points.

Jarrett Allen to Record a Double-Double AND Team to Win: Yes | +140 (PointsBet) | 2.0 Units

Allen has logged a double-double in 7-of-10 games this season and he’s coming off of that massive 20-rebound game on Monday. As mentioned above, the Kings have been awful in the paint, where they allow the 3rd most PPG (54.7). So, this is a match-up that bodes well for Allen to log his eighth double-double of the season. We’ll parlay the 8-2 Cavs (-4.5 favorites) to win this game against the 3-6 Kings so we can boost this prop to plus-money odds.
