Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
💫PG Damian Lillard, POR | DK: $10.1k, FD: $10.2k | vs. SAS | Cash & GPP
The man keeps cooking so we have to love Dame once again tonight. He has averaged 1.58 FPPM and 33.8 PPG over his last five games and has also posted three points/assists double-doubles in that span. Lillard and the Trailblazers draw a premium match-up against the Spurs who continue to allow a league-high 121.4 PPG and rank dead last in defensive efficiency. As mentioned in the intro, tonight’s slate features very high over/unders across the board and Portland leads the way with a slate-high 124.8 implied total. Lillard did play 40 minutes last night but he has been perfectly fine on the second legs of back-to-backs this season.
PG Mike Conley, UTA | DK: $5.3k, FD: $5.7k | vs. CHA | Cash & GPP
When searching for a cheaper guard play out of the mid-range, Mike Conley stands out as a strong candidate tonight given his current salaries. He has put up at least 30.25 DKFP in four consecutive games and he garners a plus match-up against a Hornets team that ranks 10th in pace and 27th in defensive efficiency. Conley has averaged +24% more FPPG in up-pace games and +24% more FPPG when well-rested (Jazz have not played since Friday). The Jazz rank 2nd on the slate with a 124.3 implied total and, while he’s never an exciting play, Conley brings plenty of potential 6x-7x value to DFS lineups tonight.
💫PG Payton Pritchard, BOS | DK: $3.3k, FD: $3.9k | @ ORL | Cash & GPP
The Celtics will be without Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon this evening. Derrick White makes sense as well, given his more secure minutes workload, but Pritchard carries plenty of appeal as well given his near-minimum DFS salaries. Pritchard projects for mid-20s minutes off of the bench tonight and he has averaged a fairly respectable 0.79 FPPM this season. The Celtics are fairly heavy eight-point favorites so there is some potential for Pritchard to see some extra fourth-quarter run in the event of a blowout.
Other Guards to Consider:
PG Trae Young, ATL | DK: $9.5k, FD: $9.7k | @ CHI | GPP Preferred
PG/SG Terry Rozier, CHA | DK: $8k, FD: $8.1k | @ UTA | GPP Preferred (Boost if L. Ball is out)
💫SG Desmond Bane, MEM | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.8k | @ SAC | Cash & GPP
PG/SG Jaden Ivey, DET | DK: $6k, FD: $6.1k | vs. MIL | GPP Preferred (Boost if K. Hayes is out)
SG/SF Kevin Huerter, SAC | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6.1k | vs. MEM | GPP Preferred
💫PG/SG Derrick White, BOS | DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.5k | @ ORL | Cash & GPP
PG/SG Collin Sexton, UTA | DK: $4.4k, FD: $5k | vs. CHA | GPP Preferred
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
💫SF/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN | DK: $9.3k, FD: $8.9k | @ HOU | Cash & GPP
Big usage, big minutes, big DFS upside. That’s Anthony Edwards’ in a nutshell. He has not been overly consistent this season but his DFS ceiling is undeniable. He’s coming off of a game against this same Rockets team where he stuffed the stat sheet with 44 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks -- good for a cool 71.0 DKFP. He has earned the largest usage boost with the injured Karl-Anthony Towns off the court this season and on any given night he could chuck up 25+ shots. Edwards is also a solid source of steals and blocks and the Rockets happen to lead the NBA in both opponent steals (8.8) and opponent blocks (6.1) allowed per game.
💫SF Gordon Hayward, CHA | DK: $5.3k, FD: $5.2k | @ UTA | GPP Preferred
I wouldn’t recommend going here in cash lineups but Hayward makes for an intriguing low-owned GPP play on this slate. He returned to the starting lineup on Saturday following an eight-game absence and went on to put up nine points, five boards, five assists, two blocks, and a steal in 25 minutes. Nothing eye-popping but it was a performance that earned him 28.25 DKFP. Hayward has had two other stretches this season where he missed either eight or nine games. In his second game back from those absences, he ended up playing 37 minutes (11/20 @ WAS) and 35 minutes (12/18 @ DEN) while putting up 34.25 DKFP and 35.0 DKFP. If Hayward handles his normal mid-30s minutes tonight, he likely goes on to easily return great value on his $5.3k/$5.2k DK/FD salaries.
SF/PF KJ Martin, HOU | DK: $5k, FD: $5.3k | vs. MIN | Cash & GPP
Martin has started in place of the injured Kevin Porter Jr. (foot/out) in each of the last five games. He has averaged 31.9 Min/Gm in that stretch and has put up at least 25.75 DKFP in his last four. There is also a chance that Jabari Smith Jr. (ankle/questionable) misses a second consecutive game, which would further boost Martin’s potential usage and peripheral stats. Martin fell one rebound shy of a double-double against the Timberwolves on Saturday and he’ll step in as a viable forward option out of the $5k range given the same match-up tonight.
Other Forwards to Consider:
💫SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS | DK: $10.9k, FD: $11.1k | @ ORL | Cash & GPP
SF/PF DeMar DeRozan, CHI | DK: $8.9k, FD: $8k | vs. ATL | FD Preferred
SF/PF Kyle Anderson, MIN | DK: $6.3k, FD: $7.3k | @ HOU | GPP Preferred (If Gobert is out)
SF Eric Gordon, HOU | DK: $4.4k, FD: $5.2k | vs. MIN | GPP Preferred
💫PF Keegan Murray, SAC | DK: $4.4k, FD: $5.3k | vs. MEM | DK Preferred
PF Tari Eason, HOU | DK: $3.8k, FD: $4.3k | vs. MIN | GPP Preferred (Cash play if starting/J. Smith Jr. out)
SF/PF Stanley Johnson, SAS | DK: $3k, FD: $3.9k | @ POR | DK Preferred
Centers to Consider 🏀
💫C Alperen Sengun, HOU | DK: $8.4k, FD: $8.4k | vs. MIN | Cash & GPP (Preferred if Gobert is out for MIN)
Has Sengun officially been unleashed? He has handled at least 37 minutes in three consecutive games and has responded with DKFP totals of 57.5, 54.0, and 70.25 while averaging an incredible 1.61 FPPM. Whether he can keep up this production is certainly up for debate but he has had this sort of do-it-all skill set since he entered the NBA. This match-up would be even juicier if Rody Gobert (groin/questionable) misses his fourth consecutive game. Centers have been wreaking havoc on the Timberwolves with Gobert and KAT sidelined.
💫C Jalen Duren, DET | DK: $4.5k, FD: $5.7k | vs. MIL | DK Preferred
Duren recently missed five games with an ankle injury but he returned to action in last Thursday’s game against the Bulls which was played overseas in Paris. Duren came off the bench that game but he needed just 18 minutes of court time to put up a double-double and ended the evening with 34.0 DKFP. Now with Isaiah Stewart and Marvin Bagley III both ruled out for tonight’s game, Duren should be reinstalled to the starting lineup. He’s more of a GPP play on FanDuel, but at $4,500 on DraftKings, he makes plenty of sense as a value play this evening. Duren has averaged 0.97 FPPM over his last 20 starts and he should project for around 30 minutes tonight. The Bucks will get Giannis (missed the last five games) back to help man the paint tonight but, on paper, it’s not a brutal match-up for Duren (MIL ranked 26th vs. Centers over their last 20 games).
Other Centers to Consider:
C Nikola Vucevic, CHI | DK: $9.1k, $8.7k | vs. ATL | Cash & GPP
C Mason Plumlee, CHA | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.5k | @ UTA | DK Preferred
💫C Walker Kessler, UTA | DK: $5.8k, FD: $7.9k | vs. CHA | DK Preferred
C Clint Capela, ATL | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6.2k | @ CHI | GPP Preferred
C Drew Eubanks, POR | DK: $3.2k, FD: $4.5k | vs. SAS | GPP Preferred
