Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

💫PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $9.9k, FD: $10.5k | vs. GSW | Cash & GPP

Gotta love this match-up that pits two of the fastest-paced teams in the NBA (GSW: 1st, OKC: 3rd) against one another and features a slate-high 242.5 over/under. The Warriors have been getting cooked by opposing point guards -- the last four PGs that have faced have put up 53.5 DKFP (F. VanVleet), 58.0 DKFP (J. Morant), 62.25 DKFP (K. Irving), and 50.5 DKFP (D. Garland). Those are some elite guards that the Warriors have gone up against recently but SGA is certainly on par, or better than, all of those guys -- at least from a DFS perspective. Gilgeous-Alexander has racked up at least 51.75 DKFP in his last four games, he has put up at least 21 shots in each of those games, and he tends to play a bit better at home. SGA has also picked up an added +6.97% usage rate and +12.86 per 48-minute fantasy point average when Luguentz Dort (hamstring/out) has been off the court this season. He makes for a prime DFS target in a game that will feature a massive amount of possessions.

💫PG Russell Westbrook, LAL | DK: $7.5k, FD: $7.8k | @ BKN | Cash & GPP

Westbrook’s fantasy output has regressed in recent games but that has also led to his DFS salaries dropping below $8,000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Tonight, the Lakers will be without their two superstars, LeBron and AD, along with Austin Reaves. When those three guys have been off the floor this season, Westbrook has handled a team-high +8.81% USG% and +13.04 per 48-minute fantasy point increase. As a result of those two marquee player absences, the Lakers will step in as +9 point underdogs but Westbrook should see a significant minutes boost off of the bench and will need to take over primary ball-handling duties. Westbrook’s triple-double potential is back on the table tonight.

💫PG/SG Alec Burks, DET | DK: $4.9k, FD: $5k | @ DAL | Cash & GPP

Burks has landed in the starting rotation in each of the last two games. In those games, he logged at least 27 minutes and put up 20+ points against the Nets and Rockets. He’s earned 1.12 FPPM as a starter this season and draws a decent match-up tonight. The Mavericks play at a very slow pace but they still check in at 24th in defensive efficiency. Assuming Burks continues to start, he’s a great value target at his $4.9k/$5k salaries. Plenty of 6x-7x upside here.

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

💫SF/PF Scottie Barnes, TOR | DK: $7.6k, FD: $8.1k | @ PHX | Cash & GPP

Today’s slate is lacking any major star-power at the forward positions but Scottie Barnes sticks out as a worthy upper-mid-range play. As is the case with all Raptors starters, Barnes is locked into huge minutes on a nightly basis -- he’s averaging 36.5 Min/Gm over his last 20 games, 38.3 Min/Gm over his last five. He’ll typically average a hair over 1.00 FPPM so, at his current DFS salaries, he’ll often provide a stable 5x-6x floor. Barnes has posted at least 42.5 DKFP in eight of his last 10 starts and he may put up a couple of extra shots and see a slight boost to his peripheral stats with OG Anunoby (wrist/out) set to miss another start. This game against the Suns holds the lowest total on the slate (221 O/U) but it also features a very close two-point spread so this could easily be one of those nights where Barnes surpasses the 40-minute threshold.

💫PF/C Rui Hachimura, LAL | DK: $4.1k, FD: $5.3k | @ BKN | DK Preferred

Hachimura is set to make his third appearance since joining the Lakers. He has played 22 and 24 minutes off of the bench with the Lakers and this will be his first game without LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing. Without those guys available, Hachimura should be expected to pick up some extra minutes. He’s averaged 0.88 FPPM this season and, whether he continues to come off the bench or earns his first Lakers start, he can likely push for 30-32 minutes against the Nets this evening. If that is the case, he’ll be playable at $5,300 on FanDuel but a much more appealing option at $4,100 on DraftKings.

💫SF Aaron Wiggins, OKC | DK: $3.4k, FD: $4.2k | vs. GSW | Cash & GPP

I don’t believe anyone is ever thrilled to slide Aaron Wiggins into their DFS lineups but he should earn another start tonight in place of Lu Dort (hamstring/out). Wiggins has averaged a fairly respectable 0.83 FPPM in his last five starts while playing at least 25 minutes in those games. He was on the court for 31 minutes against the Cavs on Friday and came away with 24.75 DKFP. The match-up is much better tonight against the fast-paced Warriors who are also much softer defensively than a team like the Cavaliers.

Centers to Consider 🏀

💫C Nicolas Claxton, LAL | DK: $8.1k, FD: $8.4k | vs. LAL | Cash & GPP

Claxton is going to be a $9k player very soon if he continues to play at the level he has been over the last couple of weeks. Dating back to January 15th (eight games), Claxton has put up seven performances that have netted him at least 41.25 DKFP and he has a couple of 50 burgers mixed in there as well. He’ll draw a dream match-up against the LeBron/Anthony Davis-less Lakers who have allowed the most FPPG to opposing centers over their last 20 games. Steals and blocks are two premium DFS stats that we always love to hunt for and Claxton is one of the premier shot-blockers in the NBA (averaging 4.1 STL+BLK L20Gms). Barring a major blowout that limits Claxton’s minutes in the fourth quarter, he should be able to cook in this match-up.

💫C Precious Achiuwa, TOR | DK: $5.1k, FD: $6.1k | @ PHX | Cash & GPP

We’ll fight the urge to make any Lord of the Rings references here and just say that the secret is out on Precious Achiuwa. Raptors’ head coach Nick Nurse is notorious for giving his starters massive minutes so Achiuwa, who is normally a reserve player that comes off the bench, rarely gets enough time on the court to shine. That has changed lately as Achiuwa has cracked the starting rotation in four of the last five games. He has played at least 36 minutes in those four starts and has posted DKFP scores of 44.25, 31.75, 36.25, and (most recently) 50.25. The OG Anunoby injury will open the pathway for Achiuwa to make another start tonight and he steps in as one of the top overall values on the slate. His ownership will be high, but the risk of fading him could be even higher.
