Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
PG LaMelo Ball, CHA | DK: $11k, FD: $10.3k | @ MIN | GPP Preferred
The Hornets will look to get Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr. (both listed as “probable”) back in the rotation today. That may or may not impact LaMelo Ball’s DFS output but he’ll continue to own some mammoth GPP upside. Ball is nearly averaging a triple-double over his last five starts (23.2 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 10.2 APG) and this match-up features two teams that rank inside the top five in offensive pace (CHA: 4th, MIN: 5th). The Hornets are on the front end of a back-to-back and Kelly Oubre hasn’t played in nearly two months, so his minutes should be fairly limited. Meanwhile, LaMelo Ball has put up plenty of massive DFS scores while sharing the court with Terry Rozier this season, so his return from a one-game absence shouldn’t be a major strike against LaMelo tonight. You’d be paying the premium, but Ball does own the most raw upside at the guard position on this slate.
💫SG/SF Josh Okogie, PHX | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.8k | vs. OKC | Cash & GPP
Okogie has been a consistent source of value across the Suns’ last few games as they continue to deal with multiple injury absences as well as the fallout from the Kevin Durant trade. Okogie has played 36.8 Min/Gm over his last four games, starting the previous three. He has averaged right at 1.00 FPPM during this four-game stretch and as long as he remains in the starting lineup, he should be handed significant minutes. The Suns draw a plus match-up tonight against an up-tempo Thunder team that ranks 3rd in pace.
💫SG/SF Josh Christopher, HOU | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4.1k | @ GSW | Cash & GPP
The Rockets will be thin in the backcourt tonight. Kevin Porter Jr. (foot) has been sidelined since mid-January, Jalen Green is ruled out with a groin injury, and Eric Gordon was shipped to the Clippers ahead of the trade deadline. Whether he starts or comes off of the bench, Josh Christopher should be in line for some meaningful minutes tonight. When KPJ, Green, and Gordon have been off the court this season, Christopher has handled a +5.38% usage bump and a +13.13 per 48-minute fantasy point increase. This game features the fastest combined pace on the slate and, though the Rockets are significant +10.5-point underdogs, Christopher feels pretty “blowout proof” and should play significant minutes regardless of the score.
Other Guards to Consider:
PG Jrue Holiday, MIL | DK: $8.9k, FD: $8k | vs. MIA | FD Preferred
💫PG Jalen Brunson, NYK | DK: $8.8k, FD: $8.4k | @ WAS | GPP Preferred
PG/SG Jordan Poole, GSW | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.3k | vs. HOU | GPP Preferred
💫PG/SG Josh Giddey, OKC | DK: $7.5k, FD: $7.5k | @ PHX | Cash & GPP (If SGA is out)
PG/SG Tyler Herro, MIA | DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.6k | @ MIL | GPP Preferred
SG/SF Josh Hart, NYK | DK: $5.8k, FD: $5.8k | @ WAS | GPP Preferred
PG/SG Immanuel Quickley, NYK | DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.9k | @ WAS | DK Preferred
💫PG TyTy Washington Jr., HOU | DK: $3k, FD: $4k | @ GSW | Cash & GPP (Preferred if starting)
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
💫PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE | DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.4k | @ ATL | Cash & GPP
Mobley has been more involved in the offense in recent weeks and he came out of the All-Star Break with a bang, scoring 31 points and 48.25 DKFP against the Nuggets last night. In relation to his mid-$7k salaries, Mobley is going to bring a strong floor to lineups on a near-nightly basis and he clearly has ample upside to return the 6x-7x type of value needed to take down GPPs. We do have to be mindful of the back-to-back situation since Mobley did log 38 minutes last night. But the recent week-long All-Star Break should mitigate most fatigue concerns as well. This is a terrific match-up against the Hawks who allow the 5th most points in the paint per game and have ranked dead last versus opposing power forwards over their last 20 games.
💫SF Khris Middleton, MIL | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6k | vs. MIA | Cash & GPP (If Giannis is out)
We’ll need to monitor Giannis Antetokounmpo’s availability heading into this game. Giannis was listed as “doubtful” for most of the day with a wrist injury, but he was recently upgraded to “questionable.” My prediction is that Giannis ultimately sits, but time will tell. If he is out for this game, there should be plenty of DFS interest surrounding Khris Middleton. Middleton has not played more than 25 minutes in a game since returning from his most recent injury stint 10 games ago and he’s also been playing off of the bench, but he has been excellent on a fantasy point-per-minute basis. Over his last six games (22 Min/Gm), Middleton is averaging a stellar 1.46 FPPM and he has scored at least 34.75 DKFP in three of his last four. Middleton has not played in 10 days so perhaps the Bucks coaching staff will feel more comfortable playing him for closer to 30 minutes this evening. If that is the case, as long as Giannis sits, Middleton could crush these $6.3k/$6k DFS salaries.
💫SF/PF Kyle Anderson, MIN | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.5k | vs. CHA | Cash & GPP
Anderson can be a fairly volatile DFS asset but he has also shown some legitimate 8x-10x upside at his current DFS salaries. He’s averaging just over an FPPM over his last 20 games and, as a starter, we should expect him to play 30+ minutes. He gets an awesome match-up against a Hornets team that has failed to defend opposing frontcourts with any real success all season. Starting SFs have averaged 34.93 FPPG against the Hornets over their last 20 games and that is the general fantasy point outcome I would expect out of Kyle Anderson this evening.
Other Forwards to Consider:
PF Julius Randle, NYK | DK: $9.8k, FD: $9.3k | @ WAS | GPP Preferred
SF/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN | DK: $9.1k, FD: $9.4k | vs. CHA | GPP Preferred
💫PF Jabari Smith Jr., HOU | DK: $5.8k, FD: $5.6k | @ GSW | Cash & GPP
💫SF/PF Cameron Johnson, BKN | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.4k | @ CHI | Cash & GPP
SF/PF Tari Eason, HOU | DK: $3.9k, FD: $5.1k | @ GSW | DK Preferred
Centers to Consider 🏀
💫C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.9k | vs. CHA | Cash & GPP
After being listed as questionable with a groin injury for what feels like the last month-plus, Gobert is finally off of the injury report altogether in the T-Wolves’ first game out of the All-Star Break. He’s coming off of back-to-back 40+ DKFP performances and he receives a premium match-up against a Charlotte Hornets team that has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing centers this season. The Timberwolves recently traded for Gobert’s former Utah Jazz teammate, PG Mike Conley. That may be a move that pays dividends moving forward given how much on-court chemistry Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert share.
💫C Mason Plumlee, LAC | DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.8k | vs. SAC | Cash & GPP
Ivica Zubac will miss Friday night’s game due to a right calf strain which opens up the pathway for Mason Plumlee to make his first start since being traded over to the Clippers from Charlotte. Plumlee is a guy who has averaged a strong 1.13 FPPM this season but, through two games played with Los Angeles, he has logged just 17 and 18 minutes, respectively. Zubac’s absence will open up the potential for Plumlee to play closer to 28-32 minutes, in which case he stands out as a strong DFS bargain play tonight. The Clippers will also have PG Russell Westbrook available to make his team debut, so there are plenty of unknowns to factor in with this team tonight, but Plumlee’s affordable DFS salaries make him an enticing target.
Other Centers to Consider:
💫C Bam Adebayo, MIA | DK: $9.3k, FD: $9.1k | @ MIL | Cash & GPP
C Aleperen Sengun, HOU | DK: $7.5k, FD: $7.5k | @ GSW | GPP Preferred
C Mark Williams, CHA | DK: $6k, FD: $5.7k | @ MIN | GPP Preferred
💫C Clint Capela, ATL | DK: $5.9k, FD: $7.2k | vs. CLE | DK Preferred
C Kevon Looney, GSW | DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.7k | vs. HOU | DK Preferred
💫C Jaylin Williams, OKC | DK: $3.4k, FD: $4.7k | @ PHX | DK Preferred
