DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

We’ll be looking at a modest five-game slate today and, if we’re being honest with ourselves, this is looking like a pretty shabby set of games. The actual match-ups are just bland as hell and there are significant blowout concerns in two or three of these games (DEN -14, MIL -13.5, PHX -8). I wouldn’t blame anyone for skipping out on this slate or playing very lightly on the old bankroll but, at the same time, the NBA grind never sleeps so we’ll be hunting for some top DFS plays and props to hone in on no matter what. Best of luck today and enjoy the March Madness as well!

Note: Keep an eye on that Pacers injury report. Some much-needed value may open up if at least a couple of those "questionable" guys are eventually ruled out.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

💫PG Fred VanVleet, TOR | DK: $8.6k, FD: $8.6k | vs. OKC | Cash & GPP

We may not have the most compelling slate on our hands today but, as far as the guard options go, there are a decent amount of quality options. We’ll begin with Fred VanVleet who is coming off of a massive performance against the Nuggets on Tuesday where he dropped 36 points and 59.25 DKFP in 38 minutes. He has had his fair share of lackluster box scores throughout the season but a couple of things are certain: VanVleet will play big minutes and he has as much 60+ FP upside as any guard on this slate. The Raptors receive the highest pace differential on this slate against a Thunder squad that ranks 3rd in pace and this game carries a fairly high 231.0 over/under with a pretty close spread (TOR -6) as well.

💫SG Mikal Bridges, BKN | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.5k | vs. SAC | Cash & GPP

Bridges has hit a nice stride with the Nets. If we exclude the game against the Bucks last Thursday in which he played just 12 minutes (to presumably preserve his ironman streak of consecutive games started), Bridges has gone for at least 43.0 DKFP in five of his last six games (and seven of his last nine). This game against the Kings (9th in pace, 26th in def. efficiency) sets up as the most DFS-friendly match-up on the slate, and that is backed up by its slate-hight 238.0 over/under and narrow spread (BKN -2.5). The Kings, who visit the Nets on the second leg of a road back-to-back, have ranked 29th versus opposing shooting guards in their last 20 games so Bridges will find himself in another great spot to return value on his mid-$8k price tags.

PG/SG Seth Curry, BKN | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4.2k | vs. SAC | DK Preferred

At the time of this writing, there is not a ton of stand-out value on the board but, on DraftKings, you could probably do much worse than rolling the dice on Seth Curry at just $3,300. He’s going to benefit from the Kings match-up discussed above with Mikal Bridges and should be able to push for around 20 minutes off of the bench. He’s averaging a palatable 0.85 FPPM in his last 20 games with the second unit. While that’s far from spectacular, today feels like one of those slates where 5x to 5.5x value will be perfectly serviceable and Seth Curry will have a decent chance to hit that value target range (on DraftKings).

Other Guards to Consider:

PG/SG Devin Booker, PHX | DK: $9.9k, FD: $10.3k | vs. ORL | GPP Preferred

💫PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $9.6k, FD: $10.6k | @ TOR | GPP Preferred

💫PG Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN | DK: $7.9k, FD: $8.7k | vs. SAC | DK Preferred

PG Killian Hayes, DET | DK: $6.7k, FD: $6.9k | vs. DEN | GPP Preferred

💫PG TJ McConnell, IND | DK: $5k, FD: $5.6k | @ MIL | Cash & GPP (Depending on further Pacers injury news)

SG Malik Monk, SAC | DK: $4.5k, FD: $5.2k | @ BKN | GPP Preferred

SG/SF Joe Ingles, MIL | DK: $4.2k, FD: $5.1k | vs. IND | DK Preferred

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

💫PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL | DK: $12k, FD: $12k | vs. IND | Cash & GPP

The Pacers have several key players listed with questionable tags at the time of this writing and even if some/all of those guys suit up, there is still going to be an uncomfortable amount of blowout concerns to be had in this game. With that said, we’re working with a small slate with no shortage of dicey DFS options so it’s never a bad strategy to roll with the guy with the most upside on the board. Giannis heads into tonight’s game without an injury designation and the match-up really doesn’t get much better. The Pacers have ranked dead last versus opposing power forwards over their last 20 games and the Greek Freak dropped 41 points and 70.5 DKFP the last time these two teams met (Jan. 27th). That game featured a whopping 272 points scored in regulation en route to a 10-point Bucks victory. If the Pacers manage to keep this game competitive (they’re currently +13.5 underdogs), then Giannis likely posts another mammoth performance.

💫SF/PF Cameron Johnson, BKN | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.3k | vs. SAC | Cash & GPP

We’ll go back to the Nets yet again and give Cameron Johnson some consideration out of the mid-range today. Johnson has mostly been a solid floor play but he has also displayed a strong 40+ DKFP ceiling on a routine basis in recent weeks. Across his last nine starts, he has put up at least 39.75 DKFP in three games and at least 27.0 DKFP on seven occasions. And, once again, a big draw with Johnson stems from his match-up with the Kings, who have rated out at 28th in the NBA versus opposing small forwards across their last 20 games.

PF/C Trey Lyles, SAC | DK: $4k, FD: $5.1k | @ BKN | DK Preferred

For the highlighted value play at forward today, it’ll be another “DraftKings preferred” target with Trey Lyles. Lyles sat out the Kings game last night while serving a one-game suspension as a result of an altercation with Brook Lopez in the closing minutes of Monday’s game. That’s worth mentioning since he wasn’t sidelined with any sort of injury. Given his current $4,000 DK salary, he’s been a strong value option over his last six games. In that stretch, he is averaging 24.4 FPPG and 1.14 FPPM while playing around 22 Min/Gm. Lyles is not a terrible play on FanDuel at $5,100, but he certainly sets up as one of the better forward values on DraftKings tonight.

Other Forwards to Consider:

SF Khris Middleton, MIL | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8k | vs. IND | GPP Preferred

PF Jalen Williams, OKC | DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.7k | @ TOR | GPP Preferred

SF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6k, FD: $6.1k | @ DET | GPP Preferred

💫SF/SG Kevin Huerter, SAC | DK: $5.7k, FD: $6.2k | @ BKN | GPP Preferred

SF/PF Jae Crowder, MIL | DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.6k | vs. IND | GPP Preferred

Centers to Consider 🏀

💫C Domantas Sabonis, SAC | DK: $10.1k, FD: $10.2k | @ BKN | Cash & GPP

We’ll have to worry about back-to-back concerns with Sabonis, who played 40 minutes in Chicago last night. But there is no reason to suspect any sort of limitations on him tonight and he’s been “fine” in back-to-backs this season. Sabonis is running hot after scoring 57.25 DKFP and 71.25 DKFP in his last two games along with at least 50.0 DKFP in seven of his last eight. He’s been a double-double machine this season with an NBA-leading 55 double-doubles in 66 games played. He’s also averaging a triple-double over his last five games with 19.4 PPG, 13.2 RPG, and 10.0 APG. It’s been mentioned ad nauseam but this Nets/Kings match-up is one we’ll want some serious exposure to on this slate and Brooklyn has been particularly vulnerable against centers (29th vs. Cs L20Gms).

💫C Jakob Poeltl, TOR | DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.5k | vs. OKC | Cash & GPP

Poeltl has meshed well with his new Toronto squad and going back through his last 11 games, he has put up at least 38.25 DKFP on seven occasions along with a trio of 56.0+ DKFP outings. Unlike most Raptors’ starters, Poeltl doesn’t typically handle high-30s minutes but thanks to his 1.25 FPPM average (L20Gms), he is fully capable of returning DFS value in 28-32 minutes on the floor. Oklahoma City is allowing the 11th most points in the paint this season and opposing starting centers are also averaging 9.5 RPG, 3.5 APG, and 2.1 BLK+STL/Gm across their last 20 contests as well. If you’re not spending up on the likes of Nikola Jokic or Domantas Sabonis, Jakob Poeltl stands out as a worthy center option out of the $7k range on both sites.

Other Centers to Consider:

C Nikola Jokic, DEN | DK: $11.6k, FD: $12.2k | @ DET | GPP Preferred (Blowout concerns)

C Deandre Ayton, PHX | DK: $7.4k, FD: $8.5k | vs. ORL | DK Preferred

💫C Nic Claxton, BKN | DK: $6.6k, FD: $7.7k | vs. SAC | DK Preferred

C Isaiah Jackson, IND | DK: $5.4k, FD: $6k | @ MIL | Cash & GPP (If M. Turner is out)

C Jalen Duren, DET | DK: $5.2k, FD: $6.5k | vs. DEN | DK Preferred
