Top NBA DFS Plays & Prop Bets 4/21 | Three More Game Threes to Sink Our Teeth Into Tonight!

Written By: Ryan Humphries on Twitter & LineStar chat @Ryan_Humphries

DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

We get back on the wagon with another set of game threes tonight! The Celtics and Nuggets have jumped out to 2-0 series leads over the Hawks and T-Wolves, respectively, while the Cavaliers/Knicks series is split 1-1 heading into Madison Square Garden. There are very few impact injuries to speak of on this slate so finding some worthwhile value may be a little extra tricky tonight. Regardless, we’ll see what kind of game plan we can put together! Best of luck!

Today’s Key Injuries:

Celtics: None

Hawks: None

Cavaliers: C. Osman - Questionable

Knicks: J. Sims - OUT

Nuggets: N. Jokic - Probable

Timberwolves: R. Gobert - Questionable, J. Nowell - Questionable

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

💫PG Trae Young, ATL | DK: $8.4k, FD: $9.1k | vs. BOS

It’s another day where the slate will be deepest at the guard positions so this is where you can look to hone in on many different options. Trae Young has not had his best performances in the first two games of this series, but here’s to hoping that will suppress his ownership tonight. The series moves to Atlanta where Young has averaged +13.3% more FPPG and 1.42 FPPM. Young had a huge 35-point, 60.25 DKFP performance the last time he faced the Celtics at home and, despite losing by double-digits in the last two games, the Hawks are only +5.5 underdogs in game three. Young has only shot 35% from the field in this series but I believe we can expect some positive regression out of him, at least for tonight. The Celtics have also been vulnerable against opposing point guards, ranking 22nd against them over their last 20 contests.

💫PG Mike Conley, MIN | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6k | vs. DEN

There are several stud guards we’ll have the luxury of spending up on but several options will stand out in the mid-range as well. Game two of this MIN/DEN series was much more competitive than game one where the T-Wolves were blown out by 29 points. In turn, Mike Conley was on the floor for 38 minutes on Wednesday. While his 14 points and 26.25 DKFP score were nothing to write home about, if he’s going to receive high-30s minutes, his 0.94 FPPM average on the season should translate into some nice value. The T-Wolves are slight +2.5 home underdogs tonight and barring another unforeseen blowout, Conley is going to feel like a really safe, but unexciting, DFS play for tonight’s slate.

SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, DEN | DK: $4.2k, FD: $5.4k | @ MIN

If we’re going to jam in superstars like Jayson Tatum or Nikola Jokic, we’ll need some cheap plays to come through as well. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is much more of a role player but he’ll be guaranteed big minutes in any competitive playoff match-up. He was on the floor for 31 minutes in the game one blowout and logged 39 minutes in the more competitive game two on Wednesday. Despite being the lowest usage player in the Nuggets' starting lineup, he has still hoisted double-digit shot attempts in both games of this series and he’s always a candidate to corral some steals and blocks (2.0 STL+BLK/Gm L20Gms).

Other Guards to Consider:

💫PG/SG Donovan Mitchell, CLE | DK: $9.3k, FD: $10.2k | @ NYK

💫PG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $8k, FD: $9k | @ MIN

PG Jalen Brunson, NYK | DK: $7.6k, FD: $8.5k | vs. CLE

💫PG/SG Derrick White, BOS | DK: $6.1k, FD: $7.6k | @ ATL

💫PG Malcolm Brogdon, BOS | DK: $5.2k, FD: | @ ATL

SG Caris LeVert, CLE | DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.8k | @ NYK

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

💫SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS | DK: $9.9k, FD: $10.8k | @ ATL

The BOS/ATL match-up owns the highest combined pace and largest total (228.5 O/U) on tonight’s slate so plenty of favorable plays will be found here. Jayson Tatum has performed as expected so far in this series, putting up 54 points, 21 rebounds, eight assists, a block, and a steal. He’s averaged 52.9 FPPG in four match-ups with the Hawks and went off for 67.25 DKFP the last time he played in Atlanta on March 11th. The Hawks have ranked 29th (L20Gms) versus starting power forwards and we can expect Tatum to continue to shine in game three.

SF/SG Josh Hart, NYK | DK: $5.3k, FD: $5.7k | vs. CLE

An ankle injury seemed to hamper Hart in game two when he failed to contribute much across his 27 minutes. He was a key contributor off of the bench in the Knicks’ game one victory, posting a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double and supplying 35.5 DKFP in 33 minutes of work. Hart is not on the injury report ahead of tonight’s game so we’ll look for him to be that same guy from game one where he flies around the court and does a bunch of dirty work, crashing the boards and playing some feisty defense.

SF/PF Taurean Prince, MIN | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4k | vs. DEN (Preferred if he’s starting)

Prince played off the bench in game one of this series but got the starting nod on Wednesday. He only played 18 minutes but that was enough time for him to put up a respectable 18.75 DKFP score. He may benefit from extra minutes and usage should Rudy Gobert (back/questionable) eventually be ruled out. Regardless of Gobert’s status, as long as he stays in the starting lineup, Prince will be a worthy value target on a slate that is in short supply of viable cheap options.

Other Forwards to Consider:

SF/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN | DK: $8.5k, FD: $9.6k | vs. DEN

💫SF/SG Jaylen Brown, BOS | DK: $8.3k, FD: $9.2k | @ ATL

💫PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE | DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.5k | @ NYK

SF/SG Bogdan Bogdanovic, ATL | DK: $5.1k, FD: $6k | vs. BOS

SF/PG Bruce Brown, DEN | DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.2k | @ MIN

PF/C Jeff Green, DEN | DK: $3.5k, FD: $3.8k | @ MIN

Centers to Consider 🏀

💫C Nikola Jokic, DEN | DK: $10.7k, FD: $11.5k | @ MIN

Jokic was a bit banged up toward the end of the regular season and wrist and calf injuries have landed him on the injury report in each of the first two playoff games against Minnesota. He’s officially probable to play tonight and we should look for the Joker to have his best performance up to this point in the series. Jokic had games of 67.0 DKFP and 69.25 DKFP against Minnesota in the regular season and, despite having the twin towers of KAT and Gobert down low, the T-Wolves have ranked 29th versus starting centers in their last 20 games. It’s far from a lock, but this just feels like a night where we’ll see a vintage Jokic triple-double game.

💫C Onyeka Okongwu, ATL | DK: $4.1k, FD: $5.5k | vs. BOS

Okongwu often ends up receiving around half of the Hawks’ center minutes while playing off of the bench. He’s been excellent on a per-minute basis, averaging 1.25 FPPM across his last 20 games. Okongwu’s eight points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and one assist in 24 minutes added up to 24.75 DKFP in game two of this series and he’ll be a low-end double-double candidate again tonight if he’s going to play another 24-ish minutes. He’s probably a bit too expensive on FanDuel, but DraftKings players can feel good about his $4,100 price point when combing the slate for value today.

Other Centers to Consider:

💫PF/C Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN | DK: $7.5k, FD: | vs. DEN

💫C Jarrett Allen, CLE | DK: $6.7k, FD: $8.4k | @ NYK

PF/C Al Horford, BOS | DK: $5.6k, FD: $7.7k | @ ATL

C Isaiah Hartenstein, NYK | DK: $3.8k, FD: $4.4k | vs. CLE
