DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

The late-season chaos gets dialed back a bit with just five games on tap this evening. That doesn’t mean we’ll be able to escape a hectic “injury” report, as you’ll see below. 22 teams have just two games remaining on their regular season schedule with the other eight teams having three games to play. Note: I’ll be doing away with the “Cash & GPP” and “GPP Preferred” designations for the remainder of the season. At this point, it largely comes down to a pure guessing game as to who could be considered a “cash-safe” play.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $10.2k, FD: $10.6k | @ UTA

The number of meaningful games remaining on the regular season schedule is rapidly shrinking, but this is one game that the Thunder will desperately want to win. OKC and Dallas both have 38-42 records with two games to play but the Thunder own the tiebreaker which allows them to currently possess the final play-in tournament seed in the West. SGA is dropping 30+ points and pushing for 50+ FP nearly every night he steps on the court and the Utah Jazz represent a very friendly match-up. On a slate where there is plenty of value but not many studs to spend up on, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will stand out as a go-to play. This game carries far and away the highest total on the slate with a 239.5 over/under and the shorthanded Jazz (+7) are not significant underdogs. Utah is still mathematically alive in the postseason hunt, so we can expect them to not take this game lightly either.

SG/SF Talen Horton-Tucker, UTA | DK: $8.1k, FD: $8.4k | vs. OKC (THT is currently probable to play)

Speaking of the Jazz, they will be without some core players tonight, including Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and Collin Sexton. Talen Horton-Tucker is on the injury report due to left ankle soreness, but he is expected to play. As mentioned in the SGA spotlight, the Jazz still have a very slight chance of earning a play-in tournament seed, but tonight’s game would have to be a must-win. THT has averaged +10.28 FP (per 48 min.) when Markkanen, Kessler, Clarkson, and Sexton have been off the court this season. He’s been red-hot as of late, averaging 1.41 FPPM and 47.10 FPPG over his last five starts. Horton-Tucker will likely need to be the centerpiece of the offense tonight so he’ll check in as a worthy DFS play out of the $8k range on both sites.

PG Ricky Rubio, CLE | DK: $3.1k, FD: $4.5k | @ ORL

The Cavaliers will provide a massive amount of value on this slate. They are locked into the #4 seed in the East so they are electing to sit all of their key players. Ricky Rubio is projected to start and he should be able to push for around 30 minutes in tonight’s game. He has yet to start any game this season but has averaged 0.89 FPPM off of the bench. The major increase in minutes will allow Rubio to coast to easy value.
