DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A doozy of a slate hits the board this Monday with a dozen games on the schedule. FanDuel will feature every game on their main slate while DraftKings has elected to trim the two latest games (MIL at UTA, LAC at PHX) from theirs, resulting in a still-sizable 10-game slate. There is no shortage of ways in which we can choose to attack this one so let’s lock in and get right into it! Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Jalen Brunson, NYK | DK: $8.8k, FD: $9.1k | vs. MEM

Brunson has been on a nice roll lately, netting at least 46.25 DKFP/43.7 FDFP in five of his last seven games. His usage rate has been at an elite 31.1% of that span and he has averaged 1.26 FPPM. The Knicks (25th in pace) will receive the largest positive pace differential on the slate as they take on the Grizzlies (1st in pace). It will also be worth monitoring Josh Hart’s (knee/questionable) status. With Hart off the floor this season, Brunson has handled a team-leading +4.6% USG% boost and has averaged +6.8 more FP per 32 minutes.

PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC | DK: $7k, FD: $7.9k | at BKN

Aside from a slight dud against the Nuggets last week, Malik Monk has been a reliable option out of the $7k range over these past few weeks. He’s averaging over 44 FP and 1.25 FPPM over his L10Games and will draw a strong match-up versus the Nets, who rank 29th versus starting guards L10Games. The Kings have increased their pace drastically under interim head coach Doug Christie and if the Nets (+12.5) keep this game close, Monk should be a good bet to surpass the 40 FP threshold once again.

PG Keaton Wallace, ATL | DK: $3.8k, FD: $3.9k | at MIN

The Hawks will be without their top two players today with Trae Young and Jalen Johnson both ruled out. We’ll have to wait and see the confirmed lineup to be sure, but Keaton Wallace would be a leading candidate to pick up a spot start this evening. The last time Young was sidelined (Jan. 15th at CHI), Wallace got the start and erupted for 27 points and 53.0 DKFP/54.2 FDFP. The shorthanded Hawks (+10.5) will have an uphill battle as double-digit underdogs on the road, but Wallace still represents some major potential value… as long as he is in that starting lineup!

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF Zion Williamson, NOP | DK: $8.7k, FD: $8.9k | at TOR

Deploying Zion in DFS is still going to have some inherent risk since he is likely to be limited to under 30 minutes. There is no real reason for the 12-34 Pelicans to gamble on their oft-injured star’s health. Nonetheless, he has been a monster on a per-minute basis, averaging a colossal 1.78 FPPM over his L5Games, which ranks second only to Nikola Jokic (2.11 FPPM L5Games) on this slate. He likely won’t garner much ownership tonight and, even with the limited minutes, Zion brings ample 50+ FP upside to the table. The Raptors also represent a quality match-up as they’re top 10 in pace, 27th in DEFRTG, and have ranked 26th versus starting PFs L20Games.

SF/PG Amen Thompson, HOU | DK: $7.9k, FD: $8.7k | at BOS

Amen Thompson has been a strong addition to the Rockets’ starting lineup in place of the injured Jabari Smith Jr. As a starter, Thompson is averaging a double-double with 17.3 PPG and 11.0 RPG. He has also racked up a ton of steals and blocks -- 3.9 combined steals/blocks per game (as a starter). From a pure basketball standpoint, this could end up being one of the best games of the night as Houston and Boston are both ranked 2nd in their respective conferences. Look for Thompson to be very involved on both sides of the ball tonight as the Rockets look to pull off the slight upset.

PF/C Chris Boucher, TOR | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4.3k | vs. NOP

Boucher has always been a strong FPPM scorer, and he heads in averaging a stout 1.23 FPPM over his L20Games. However, minutes have always been an issue. The Raptors have been giving Boucher more run off of the bench lately -- he has cracked at least 20 minutes in four of his last eight games. Toronto could also be without a couple of bigs today (Jakob Poeltl and Kelly Olynyk are both questionable), which could boost Boucher’s minutes a bit further. The Pelicans also check in at 26th versus reserve players L20Games so, as long as he can get up to around 20 minutes, Boucher should turn in a quality performance at low price points.

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Anthony Davis, LAL | DK: $10.4k, FD: $11.4k | at CHA

If you’re not rolling with the Nikola Jokic chalk, AD could make for a worthy pivot. Davis has poured in 25.4 PPG, 11.6 RPG, and 4.2 STL+BLK/gm L5Games while averaging 1.57 FPPM in that span. This is also going to set up as a strong individual match-up. The Hornets have ranked dead last versus starting centers L20Games and, while we can’t count on results from previous seasons carrying over, Davis has historically dominated the Hornets in the past. The Lakers are only five-point road favorites tonight so, in a close game, Davis could flirt with 70 FP this evening and he’s being pinned with sub-5% projected ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

C Daniel Gafford, DAL | DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.5k | vs. WAS

This play isn’t going to sneak up on anyone but I felt compelled to spotlight Gafford anyway. Gafford has been manning the paint for the Mavs while Dereck Lively II has been sidelined. He has started each of the last six games and is averaging a hefty 1.48 FPPM in that stretch. Gafford should be in line for around 30 minutes tonight and, to state the obvious, the match-up doesn’t get much better. The Wizards are dead last in DEFRTG, they have allowed the 4th most points in the paint per game, they have the second-lowest rebounding%, and they’ve given up the 2nd most FPPG to starting centers L20Games.
