DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A loaded Monday slate is on tap, with seven games on DraftKings and all nine on FanDuel thanks to the two late 10 p.m. ET matchups. There are plenty of intriguing spots to target, but we’ll also need to be mindful of potential blowouts -- four games currently carry double-digit spreads. While it’s not an overly hectic injury report, there are still enough moving parts to make monitoring news and last-minute lineup changes essential. Let’s dive in and see if we can piece it together tonight. Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Jalen Brunson, NYK | DK: $8.8k, FD: $8.6k | vs. WAS

Brunson has been on a quality run, averaging 32.8 PPG and 1.41 FPPM over his last five starts. He’s picking up quite a bit of offensive slack that KAT is leaving out there with some poor shooting performances, and Brunson is also currently attempting a career-high 8.5 3PA/gm. This is one of those games that we’ll have to be wary of a blowout (NYK -12.5), but if the Wizards keep things fairly close and force the Knicks’ starters into playing full minutes, it’s a smash spot for JB. The Wizards, who are 28th in overall DEFRTG, have ranked 29th versus starting PGs this season and are allowing a huge 1.55 FPPM average to the position.

PG D’Angelo Russell, DAL | DK: $5.7k, FD: $5.5k | at HOU

DLo is a volatile option, as he has been for pretty much his entire career, but he is also a sensible pivot away from the Ryan Rollins (DK: $5.8k, FD: $6.7k) chalk if you’re looking to go a different direction around this price range. The Mavs will be without their best player, Anthony Davis (calf/out), for at least one more game as he deals with a low-grade calf strain. With AD sidelined in the Mavs’ last game on Saturday, Russell went on to put up 31 points, seven rebounds, and three assists across 30 minutes, resulting in 45.75 DKFP/39.90 FDFP. Russell’s usage rate has gone from 26.8% with Anthony Davis on the floor to a team-leading 33.6% USG% with AD off the floor. The Mavs are sizable 12.5-point underdogs in this game, but, since Russell plays off the bench, his minutes should be less impacted by a potential blowout. And, while the matchup is a bit tougher, with the Rockets ranking 12th in DEFRTG and playing at the 3rd-slowest pace in the NBA, Houston has ranked a subpar 23rd versus bench PGs, so it’s not a bad individual matchup for Russell.

PG/SG Quenton Jackson, IND | DK: $4.7k, FD: $5k | vs. MIL

Jackson will be a very popular value option today, but it’s tough to look past him after his huge game against the Warriors on Saturday night when he put up a 25/6/10 stat line (with three steals) in 31 minutes and scored 56.5 DKFP/56.2 FDFP to help give the Pacers their first win of the season. That was Jackson’s second consecutive start for the banged-up Pacers, and he put up a solid 29.5 DKFP/28.8 FDFP in just 22 minutes as a starter against the Hawks last Friday. Jackson is now shooting 57.6% from the field, including 54.5% from three-point range, and it’s safe to say that he’s earned himself a significant temporary role for a Pacers team that is desperate for scoring options in the backcourt. Jackson is up to 1.61 FPPM as a starter, and, while that is unsustainable per-minute production, we don’t need him to be playing like an All-Star to get excellent value out of him tonight.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Cade Cunningham, DET at MEM

PG/SG Keyonte George, UTA at BOS

SG Kyshawn George, WAS at NYK (Boost if Middleton is out)

SG Mikal Bridges, NYK vs. WAS

PG/SG Payton Pritchard, BOS vs. UTA

PG/SF Russell Westbrook, SAC at DEN (Boost if LaVine and/or Schroder are out)

PG Ryan Rollins, MIL at IND

PG Mike Conley, MIN at BKN

PG/SG Reed Sheppard, HOU vs. DAL

SG/SF Tyrese Martin, BKN vs. MIN (Preferred if starting again)

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PG Luka Doncic, LAL at POR

PG/SG James Harden, LAC vs. MIA

PG Jrue Holiday, POR vs. LAL

PG/SG Marcus Smart, LAL at POR

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF Julius Randle, MIN | DK: $8.7k, FD: $8.5k | at BKN

Randle has displayed an excellent floor in the early season, scoring at least 42.75 DKFP/41.30 FDFP in all six games. He’s had to take on a more significant offensive role while star guard Anthony Edwards remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. In 113 minutes with Edwards off the floor this season, Randle has posted a team-leading 27.7% USG% and 36.1 points per 100 possessions. Overall, he is averaging 27.2 PPG with some quality peripherals (6.5 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.5 STL+BLK/gm). Much of Randle’s excellent scoring has been thanks to some efficient three-point shooting. He has made 47.1% of his 3PAs this season, while attempting 5.7 3PA/gm. Randle is a career 33.6% three-point shooter, so we can expect his current 3P% to begin declining. However, that may not happen just yet as the Nets rank dead last, by a significant margin, in opponent 3P% (43.3%).

PF Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK | DK: $8.5k, FD: $8.4k | vs. WAS

As mentioned in the Brunson spotlight, KAT has been awful from a shooting efficiency standpoint, making just 38% of his FGAs this season. Despite the poor shooting, he has still averaged 18.3 PPG and has posted plenty of quality DFS scores. He enters tonight’s game with at least 43.5 DKFP/41.0 FDFP in four of his last five games. Towns’ rebounding has been a big part of why he’s been able to offset some of his scoring woes, as he is currently 5th in the NBA, averaging 13.2 RPG. Towns will get his FG% back on track eventually, and he shouldn’t have many issues in tonight’s matchup. The Wizards are bottom-10 in Rebounding% and points allowed in the paint per game, so KAT is nearly a lock for another double-double this evening.

SF/PF Tari Eason, HOU | DK: $4.6k, FD: $5k | vs. DAL

Tari Eason has been thriving off the bench lately, averaging 16 points, 5.3 rebounds, and just over 30 DKFP/28 FDFP per game across his last three outings. He’s been lights-out during that stretch, shooting 60% from the field and a ridiculous 68.9% from deep. His minutes can be a little tough to predict, but we can assume he is likely to play mid-20s minutes tonight. Jabari Smith Jr. (ankle) is also listed as questionable, so keep tabs on his status leading up to lock. If he’s ruled out, Eason would likely step into the starting lineup and see a significant projections bump, making him an even stronger play tonight.

Other Forwards to Consider

PF Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at IND

SF Jaylen Brown, BOS vs. UTA

SF Lauri Markkanen, UTA at BOS

SF OG Anunoby, NYK vs. WAS

SF Jaden McDaniels, MIN at BKN

SF Ausar Thompson, DET at MEM

PF Josh Minott, BOS vs. UTA

SF Terance Mann, BKN vs. MIN

SF/PF Peyton Watson, DEN vs. SAC

SF/PF Taylor Hendricks, UTA at BOS (Only if starting again)

FanDuel Main Slate Only

SF/PF Deni Avdija, POR vs. LAL

SF Jaime Jaquez, MIA at LAC (Preferred if Powell is still out)

SF/PF Jake LaRavia, LAL at POR

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Jalen Duren, DET | DK: $7k, FD: $6.7k | at MEM

Duren is very much a boom-or-bust option, but he’s been on a roll lately with three very productive games in his last four starts, and he’s averaging a stellar 1.53 FPPM this season. He’s coming off a 33-point double-double against the Mavs in his last game, and the matchup sets up well this evening. The Grizzlies, who are on the second leg of a back-to-back, are currently 4th in pace, 22nd in DEFRTG, and have ranked 27th versus starting centers this season. If you’re willing to accept the risk of some wide variance, Duren could be a tournament winner at low ownership tonight.

C Jusuf Nurkic, UTA | DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.4k | at BOS

Unlike Duren, Nurkic will probably not be a low-owned play on this slate. With Jazz starting center Walker Kessler set to miss a second consecutive game due to a shoulder injury, Nurkic should slide into the starting lineup. He started in yesterday’s game with Kessler out, but had a poor night shooting (1-for-6) and only ended up playing 22 minutes in what went on to be a 23-point blowout loss to the Hornets. Despite little production on the scoring end, Nurkic corralled nine rebounds to go along with two steals and two assists in yesterday’s game, pointing toward double-double upside if he has a more productive night shooting the ball. And he has averaged an excellent 1.26 FPPM this season. I wouldn’t expect Nurkic to hit 30 minutes even as a starter, but if he can get to around 25 minutes tonight, he should pay off these current price tags. The Celtics have allowed 1.40 FPPM to starting centers this season and have been a bottom-10 rebounding team.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. SAC

C Alperen Sengun, HOU vs. DAL

C Myles Turner, MIL at IND

C Rudy Gobert, MIN at BKN

FanDuel Main Slate Only

C Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. MIA

C Jaxson Hayes, LAL at POR (Only if Ayton is out again)
