DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰
Thursday represents the final slate before the All-Star Break arrives (Feb. 14th - 19th) and there will be five games on the docket! We’ll have more time than usual to get our ducks in a row as the first games do not tip off until 8 o’clock ET this evening. With every team playing yesterday, that leads to all 10 teams on this slate being on the second leg of a back-to-back, which is something to keep in mind for certain guys who typically underperform in that scenario. As a reminder, there is a chart that shows “tired underperformers” in the LineStar Daily Dashboard section. As far as the current injury report goes, two teams we’ll need to keep the closest eye on are the Mavs and Timberwolves as most of the key “questionable” designations reside on those two rosters (pending further injury news). Let’s head into the ASB with a bang! Best of luck!

Main Slate Match-Ups w/ Game Totals & Point Spreads

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays
Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.
Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
PG James Harden, LAC | DK: $9.2k, FD: $9.4k | at UTA
Based on pOwn%, Harden is looking to be the go-to spend-up at guard tonight and it’s tough to argue against him. He has smashed in all three previous meetings with the Jazz this season, averaging a hefty 55.9 DKFP/53.6 FDFP in those contests. Harden has also met or exceeded salary-based expectations in 12 of his last 15 games, so he’s generally been coming through if he’s been in your lineups. Kawhi Leonard will also be out tonight, which should lead to a few more shots for Harden. This is a sizable pace-up spot for the Clippers (19th in pace) as the Jazz rank 10th in pace this season. Utah is also 28th in DEFRTG and has ranked 26th versus starting PGs this season, so it’s easy to see why Harden has had so much success against them.

SG/SF Max Christie, DAL | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.7k | vs. MIA
The Mavs are dealing with numerous injuries in the frontcourt -- A. Davis, PJ Washington, D. Gafford, and D. Lively II are all ruled out for tonight -- so that should force plenty of usage into the backcourt. The potential issue here is that both Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson are listed as questionable. Max Christie, who had been seeing strong run off of the bench since being traded over to Dallas, received his first start in a Mavs uniform last night and went on to post a solid 17/5/4 stat line across 39 minutes. Regardless of Irving and Thompson’s availability, Christie should be in the starting lineup once again tonight and could push close to 40 minutes. He just turned 22 three days ago so the back-to-back factor shouldn’t be a major concern for him, and he draws what could be a stellar individual match-up versus the Heat, who have ranked 29th versus starting SGs L5Games.
PG Jose Alvarado, NOP | DK: $5k, FD: $5k | vs. SAC
This will be the third time in which the Kings and Pelicans have played each other within the last five days, and they just played each other last night on the front end of the B2B. Alvarado has been playing as the starting point guard with Dejounte Murray (Achilles) done for the season. He put forth arguably his best performance of the season last night, supplying 18 points (on 7/15 shooting), nine assists, three rebounds, two steals, and a block across 32 minutes -- good for 42.75 DKFP/44.10 FDFP. Alvarado may see some additional usage with Zion Williamson ruled out tonight and, if he plays 30+ minutes again, that should be plenty of time for him to return value on his flat $5,000 salary on both sites as he is averaging a respectable 0.93 FPPM as a starter this season.
Other Guards to Consider
PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC at MIN
PG/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. OKC (Currently questionable)
PG Kyrie Irving, DAL vs. MIA (Currently questionable)
PG Steph Curry, GSW at HOU
SG/SF Zach LaVine, SAC at NOP
SG Jalen Green, HOU vs. GSW
PG Keyonte George, UTA vs. LAC
SG/SF Luguentz Dort, OKC at MIN
SG/SF Svi Mykhailiuk, UTA vs. LAC (Preferred if starting)
PG/SG Keon Ellis, SAC at NOP
PG/SG Kris Dunn, LAC at UTA (Currently questionable - preferred if starting)
PG/SG Alec Burks, MIA at DAL
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
SF/SG Trey Murphy III, NOP | DK: $8.2k, FD: $8.3k | vs. SAC
Murphy is coming off of a slight dud in last night’s game versus the Kings but, it’s worth noting, that Zion Williamson was rolling, making 13 of his 18 shots and scoring 33 points on a team-high 34.0% USG%. With Zion out tonight, Murphy is a good bet to lead the team in usage. Prior to last night’s game, Murphy had averaged 31.2 PPG and 1.39 FPPM over his previous six starts. He has seen a significant +5.52% USG% increase with Brandon Ingram (traded), Dejounte Murray, and Brandon Boston Jr. off the floor this season. The Kings have also allowed THE most FPPG to starting SFs over their last 20 games so I believe we’ll see a solid bounce-back performance out of Murphy this evening.
PF/C Naz Reid, MIN | DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.4k | vs. OKC
Reid has started all seven games for the Timberwolves this month as Julius Randle has been out during that stretch while dealing with a groin injury. Aside from a bit of a dud in a blowout loss to the Cavs on Monday, Reid has supplied at least 40.5 DKFP/37.6 FDFP in his other five previous games. The Timberwolves do have some other notable names on the injury report with Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Mike Conley all listed as questionable. While any combination of those players, and Edwards in particular, sitting out could lead some some major usage for Reid, it would also increase the blowout concerns versus the Thunder, who lead the NBA with a 44-9 record. OKC is already a nine-point road favorite as it stands. However you look at it, this is going to be a tough match-up for Reid (OKC is 1st in DEFRTG) but, when given the minutes, he has excelled in similarly tough spots before.

SF/PF Kessler Edwards, DAL | DK: $3.8k, FD: $3.8k | vs. MIA
Until some injury situations are clarified, there isn’t a ton of value that sticks out at forward on this slate. One thing we do know, however, is that the Mavericks are ravaged by injuries in the frontcourt. Barring a surprise, that will lead to Kessler Edwards earning another start tonight. Edwards doesn’t supply much in the way of offense, but he had a sizable impact on defense in last night’s 111-107 win over the Warriors. He played a season-high 33 minutes and racked up three blocks and two steals to go along with six boards and assists apiece, ultimately ending with 29.5 DKFP/33.2 FDFP. He’ll inevitably put up a few shots here and there, but we’re mainly expecting peripheral and defensive stats out of him. If he is in line for 30+ minutes again tonight, which is a strong possibility, then he profiles as a low-risk investment at $3,800 on both sites.
Other Forwards to Consider
SF/PG Amen Thompson, HOU vs. GSW
PF/C Bam Adebayo, MIA at DAL (Currently questionable)
SF/PF Jimmy Butler, GSW at HOU
SF DeMar DeRozan, SAC at NOP
PF/C John Collins, UTA vs. LAC
SF/PF Naji Marshall, DAL vs. MIA
PF Keegan Murray, SAC at NOP
PF Dillon Brooks, HOU vs. GSW
PF Olivier-Maxence Prosper, DAL vs. MIA
PF/C Karlo Matkovic, NOP vs. SAC (Only if starting)
SF/PF Amir Coffey, LAC at UTA (Currently questionable)
SF/PF Haywood Highsmith, MIA at DAL (Preferred if Adebayo is out)
Centers to Consider 🏀
C Domantas Sabonis, SAC | DK: $9.5k, FD: $9.6k | at NOP
Sabonis continues to dominate the glass, leading the NBA in rebounding for a third straight season while averaging a career-high 20.4 PPG and 14.3 RPG on elite efficiency (59.9% FG%, 45.8% 3PT%). His assists are slightly down, but he still carries moderate triple-double potential, having recorded eight this season (tied for third-most in the league). This is a dream matchup, as the Pelicans rank 29th in both rebounding percentage and points allowed in the paint. Sabonis has excelled against the Pels in three previous match-ups this season, averaging 25 points and 17 boards on 63% shooting.
C Ivica Zubac, LAC | DK: $7.6k, FD: $8.1k | at UTA
I’m not loving any of the cheap center options at the moment so I won’t force one into a spotlighted segment. Instead, we’ll stick to the mid-range with Ivica Zubac. Zubac is in the midst of a career year, averaging 15.3 PPG and 12.7 RPG while maintaining steadily fair DFS price tags. The Jazz have ranked 25th versus starting centers L20Games (and 29th L5Games) and Zubac has dominated them this season, averaging 22.3 PPG and 12.5 RPG while shooting a white-hot 72.7% FG% in three meetings. With the Clippers carrying the second-highest implied total on the slate (119 implied points) and favored by nearly 10 points, this is an ideal spot to lock in Zubac, especially when factoring in Kawhi Leonard and backup center Drew Eubanks’ absences.

Other Centers to Consider
C Alperen Sengun, HOU vs. GSW
C Rudy Gobert, MIN vs. OKC (Currently questionable)
C Yves Missi, NOP vs. SAC
C Kevon Looney, GSW at HOU
C Luka Garza, MIN vs. OKC (Only if Gobert is out)

DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰
It’s another busy day in the NBA. Eleven games reside on the Wednesday schedule -- DraftKings will exclude the two late games (PHX/OKC and ORL/SAC) from their main slate while FanDuel will feature the full menu. Trades continue to go down with the biggest move today involving the Bucks and Wizards trading Khris Middleton for Kyle Kuzma. The injury report is also a complete fiasco so keep those eyes and ears peeled for all the news that drops throughout the afternoon and evening! Let’s jump into the chaos! Best of luck!

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays
Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.
Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
PG/SG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $7.7k, FD: $8.3k | vs. NOP
The Nuggets lead the slate with a lofty 124.8 implied team total so the Denver studs will make plenty of sense today. Jamal Murray has been playing very well of late, averaging 1.21 FPPM L5Games and scoring at least 42.0 DKFP/44.0 FDFP in four of those last five games. He has secured 40+ FP in all three previous meetings with the Pelicans this season and, given their 29th-ranked DEFRTG and 29th-ranked DvP versus starting PGs L20Games, Murray’s expectations should be high once again this evening.
PG/SG Isaiah Collier, UTA | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.2k | vs. GSW
Perhaps not the most exciting DFS play, but Isaiah Collier has provided some quality value in recent weeks, routinely returning 6x value at these low-$5k price points. Collier’s minutes and role should be more secure with Collin Sexton (ankle/out) expected to be sidelined for at least a week -- with Sexton only playing three minutes in Monday’s game, Collier went on to supply a point/assist double-double in 32 minutes versus the Pacers. Collier has also shot it significantly better at home this season with a 48.5% FG% versus a 32.6% FG% on the road. This may not be the best match-up but Collier did post a quality 12/6/9 stat line and 31.0 DKFP/28.7 FDFP against the Warriors just last Tuesday, and that was with Sexton active and putting up 30 points of his own.

SG Gradey Dick, TOR | DK: $4.2k, FD: $4.6k | vs. MEM
The Raptors will be shorthanded today with RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl, and Immanuel Quickley ruled out. Gradey Dick has seen a notable +4.5% USG% boost with those three players off the court this season along with a +5.8 FP per 32 minutes increase. Both teams in this game rank top 10 in pace, with Memphis ranking 1st in the NBA, so there will be plenty of possessions to go around. If the Raptors (+10.5) hope to pull off the upset, Gradey Dick will likely need to be heavily involved in the scoring.
Other Guards to Consider
PG Cade Cunningham, DET vs. CLE
PG Tyrese Maxey, PHI vs. MIA
PG/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. CHI
SG/SF Trey Murphy III, NOP at DEN
PG Darius Garland, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)
PG/SG Dyson Daniels, ATL vs. SAS
PG Josh Giddey, CHI at MIN
PG Jordan Poole, WAS at BKN
PG Keyonte George, UTA vs. GSW
SG/SF Bilal Coulibaly, WAS at BKN
SG/SF Christian Braun, DEN vs. NOP
PG/SG Keon Johnson, BKN vs. WAS
PG Ty Jerome, CLE at DET (Preferred if D. Mitchell is out)
PG Jamal Shead, TOR vs. MEM
FanDuel Main Slate Only
SG/SF Devin Booker, PHX at OKC
PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC vs. ORL
PG/SG Cole Anthony, ORL at SAC
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.7k | at TOR
Over the last two games, JJJ has led the Grizzlies in scoring, with 31 and 37 points, as well as usage rate, with 31.8% USG% and 43.8% USG%. One of those games was without Ja Morant, but the other was without Desmond Bane, who will be out once again tonight. For a big man, Jackson is not a very prolific rebounder, but he can rack up multiple blocks and steals on any given night and he’ll draw a strong individual match-up. The Raptors have ranked 27th versus starting PFs L20Games and when these teams met in late December, Jackson dropped 50.25 DKFP/49.2 FDFP. I believe we can get a similar result out of him this evening.

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.6k | vs. NOP
MPJ has mostly been a solid floor play throughout this season but he erupted for 36 points and 52.75 DKFP/49.4 FDFP against this same Pelicans team on Monday. I believe the Peyton Watson (knee/out) injury is a bit underrated in regards to Porter’s role. Watson has been a key piece off of the Nuggets’ bench this season and, with Watson sidelined the last two games, Porter has played 40+ minutes in each contest. We can’t expect a repeat performance from Monday but I’d say 40+ FP is well within Porter’s wheelhouse tonight.
PF Matas Buzelis, CHI | DK: $4k, FD: $4.2k | at MIN
The Bulls took Buzelis with the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. With Zach LaVine shipped off to the Kings and none of the recently acquired players (Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, Tre Jones) ready to make their Chicago debut, Buzelis will have a chance to continue playing in an expanded role. He logged a season-high 31 minutes off of the bench in last night’s game versus the Heat and went on to score 24 points and 32.0 DKFP/31.4 FDFP. Buzelis has averaged a respectable 0.92 FPPM L5Games and, should he flirt with 30 minutes again tonight, he’ll be a great bet to return some nice value.
Other Forwards to Consider
PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at CHA
SF/PG Scottie Barnes, TOR vs. MEM
PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)
PF/C John Collins, UTA vs. GSW
PF/C Naz Reid, MIN vs. CHI
PF/C Guerschon Yabusele, PHI vs. MIA
SF/PF Zaccharie Risacher, ATL vs. SAS
SF/PF Justin Edwards, PHI vs. MIA
SF/SG Corey Kispert, WAS at BKN
SF/PF Gregory Jackson, MEM at TOR
SF/PF Justin Champagnie WAS at BKN (Preferred if starting)
SF/SG Ja’Kobe Walter, TOR vs. MEM (Preferred if starting)
FanDuel Main Slate Only
PF/SF Paolo Banchero, ORL at SAC
SF/SG Grayson Allen, PHX at OKC
Centers to Consider 🏀
C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $6.8k, FD: $6.9k | vs. CHI
Gobert continues to play some of his best basketball of the season following a 19/13/3 (plus two blocks and a steal) stat line against the Kings on Monday. He has now scored at least 37.0 DKFP/36.5 FDFP in five of his last six games, including three games of at least 47.25 DKFP/48.1 FDFP in that span. Gobert has averaged +4.6 FP per 32 minutes with Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo (both out) off the floor this season and, as always, the Bulls represent an elite match-up for opposing centers, ranking 29th against the position this season. Gobert’s DFS salaries are on the up and up but there’s still some real upside at his sub-$7k price points.

C Kelly Olynyk, TOR | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4k | vs. MEM
There is some pretty clear value here with Kelly Olynyk expected to start in place of the injured Jakob Poeltl. In his only other start this season, which also came against the Grizzlies in late December, Olynyk averaged 1.20 FPPM and scored 27.75 DKFP/25.50 FDFP. Olynyk only played 23 minutes in that game but I believe he could get closer to 26-28 minutes as the starter tonight. Either way, he won’t have to do much to pay off these bottom-of-the-barrel salaries tonight.
Other Centers to Consider
C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. NOP
C Victor Wembanyama, SAS at ATL
C Mark Williams, CHA vs. MIL
C Jalen Duren, DET vs. CLE
C Kel’el Ware, MIA at PHI
C Zach Edey, MEM at TOR
C Kevon Looney, GSW at UTA
C Quinten Post, GSW at UTA
FanDuel Main Slate Only
C/PF Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. ORL
C Isaiah Hartenstein, OKC vs. PHX
