DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

We close out February with a frenzied Friday slate! In total, ten games are on the schedule today. DraftKings will nix the two latest games (MIN/UTA & LAL/LAC) from their main slate, while FanDuel will feature the full menu. The injury report is loaded with impact players who are either out or “questionable” tonight, so be prepared for a waterfall of news to flow in throughout the afternoon and into the evening. This will undoubtedly be a tricky slate so let’s see if we can locate the correct pieces. Best of luck!

Main Slate Match-Ups w/ Game Totals & Point Spreads

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Tyrese Haliburton, IND | DK: $8.5k, FD: $9k | at MIA

We’ll look to strike while the iron is hot with Tyrese Haliburton here. He has seen a major uptick in his DFS production recently, averaging a monster 1.55 FPPM L5Games while posting 24.6 PPG, 10.8 APG, 2.4 RPG, and 2.8 STL+BLK/gm. Miami has also struggled mightily versus opposing PGs, allowing the 4th most FPPG to the position over their last 20 games. When these teams last met on January 2nd, Haliburton erupted for a 33/5/15 stat line and 72.25 DKFP/70.5 FDFP. That will be a tough performance to replicate, but we know the upside is there for him tonight.

PG Jose Alvarado, NOP | DK: $5.9k, FD: $6.1k | at PHX

The Pelicans will be missing a couple of key starters, with both Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum sitting out on the second leg of the back-to-back. When you look at the Pelicans’ splits in the usage matrix with those players off of the floor, along with the key players who were either traded or are out for the season (D. Murray, B. Ingram, H. Jones) we’ll find that Jose Alvarado has increased his usage rate but +5.9 percentage points and, more importantly, he has averaged a whopping +18.0 fantasy points per 32 minutes. All indications would point toward Alvarado entering the starting rotation tonight, and after playing just 20 minutes last night (where he supplied an efficient 29.75 DKFP/31.70 FDFO), the back-to-back factor isn’t going to be much of a concern with him. This is an immediate re-match from last night, and the Suns have also been a great team to target for a hot minute now. Phoenix has ranked dead last in DEFRTG over their L15Games and they have given up the 2nd most FPPG to starting PGs L20Games.

SG/SF Malik Beasley, DET | DK: $4.9k, FD: $5.3k | vs. DEN

Malik Beasley can be a streaky player as his DFS success is heavily tied purely to scoring, but he has exploded for at least 41.75 DKFP/38.9 FDFP in two of his last three games and has been a major contributor during the Pistons’ current eight-game win streak. Beasley also ranks eighth in the NBA with 9.4 three-point attempts per game and he’s sinking 42.5% of those shots. The Nuggets, who are on the second leg of a B2B, have ranked 28th versus reserve SGs L5Games, and they’ve allowed the 10th highest opponent 3P% this season, so it’s certainly a spot where Beasley could pour in the points as a major sparkplug off of the Detroit bench.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC at ATL

PG Cade Cunningham, DET vs. DEN

PG Jalen Brunson, NYK at MEM (Boost if Towns and/or Hart are out)

PG/SG Devin Booker, PHX vs. NOP

PG/SG Donovan Mitchell, CLE at BOS

PG Josh Giddey, CHI vs. TOR

SG/SF Trey Murphy III, NOP at PHX

PG/SG Dyson Daniels, ATL vs. OKC

SG/SF Christian Braun, DEN at DET

PG/SG Payton Pritchard, BOS vs. CLE (Preferred if J. Brown and/or Porzingis are out)

PG/SG Lonzo Ball, CHI vs. TOR (Preferred if Dosunmu is out)

PG Killian Hayes, BKN vs. POR (Only if starting again)

SG Jordan Hawkins, NOP at PHX

PG/SG Cason Wallace, OKC at ATL

PG Tyus Jones, PHX vs. NOP (Only if starting again)

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PG Luka Doncic, LAL vs. LAC (Currently questionable)

PG Mike Conley, MIN at UTA

SG/SF Nickeil Alexander-Walker, MIN at UTA

SG Terrance Shannon, MIN at UTA

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Chet Holmgren, OKC | DK: $7.2k, FD: $8k | at ATL

We’ll have to monitor Chet Holmgren’s availability as he is officially “questionable” due to a right calf contusion. I’m no doctor but a calf bruise doesn’t seem like it’d be serious enough to sideline him tonight, but we shall see. He provided a strong reminder of what sort of upside he can bring to the table in the Thunder’s last game on Wednesday against the Nets. Holmgren would go on to drop a 22/17/4 stat line with three blocks and two steals across 32 minutes -- good for a whopping 61.75 DKFP/63.40 FDFP. Holmgren’s minutes have been trending up since returning from a hip injury that had kept him sidelined for nearly three months. So, assuming he does shed that questionable designation, Holmgren should be in line for around 30 minutes and he would have a promising matchup in front of him -- the Hawks have ranked 21st versus starting PFs L10Games and are 2nd in pace. This game also leads the slate with a huge 246 over/under and the Thunder top the slate with a 128.5 implied team total.

PF Santi Aldama, MEM | DK: $5.3k, FD: $5.8k | vs. NYK

Aldama has been a mainstay in these newsletters lately, and he continues to pay dividends with some excellent production off of the Grizzlies bench. Across his last five games, Aldama is averaging a healthy 1.18 FPPM across 28.1 Min/gm with 13.0 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 4.0 APG, and 2.0 STL+BLK/gm. That has led to 33.2 DKFP/33.2 FDFP per game in that stretch. His DFS salaries remain very affordable out of the $5k range and it’s a sneaky-good matchup versus a Knicks team that has faltered defensively of late, ranking 29th in DEFRTG L10Games. The Grizzlies are also second on the slate with a 124.0 implied team total. Aldama’s contributions could be needed more if SG Desmond Bane (groin/questionable) is unable to suit up.

PF/C Karlo Matkovic, NOP | DK: $4.5k, FD: $4.6k | at PHX

Matkovic was given a spotlight yesterday and he ended up returning some nice value while receiving a spot start in place of the injured Kelly Olynyk. It was arguably his best game as a professional as Matkovic supplied a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double across 36 minutes while procuring 34.0 DKFP/30.5 FDFP. Olynyk is expected back today, and will likely reclaim his starting gig, but Matkovic could now be the guy who starts in place of the resting Zion Williamson. The last time Zion was out (Feb. 13th vs. SAC), Matkovic played 27 minutes off of the bench and posted 31.75 DKFP/35.0 FDFP. There is a good chance he’ll stick in the starting lineup today but the minutes should be there regardless. And, as mentioned, this Suns team has been awful defensively the last few weeks, so there are no real matchup concerns as these teams prepare to face each other for the second time in as many days.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. CLE (Preferred if J. Brown and/or Porzingis are out)

PF/C Kevin Durant, PHX vs. NOP

SF/PF Josh Hart, NYK at MEM (Currently questionable)

SF/PF Jalen Williams, OKC at ATL

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN at DET

SF/PF Ausar Thompson, DET vs. DEN

PF Bol Bol, PHX vs. NOP (Only if starting again)

PF/C Al Horford, BOS vs. CLE (Only if starting again)

SF/SG Aaron Nesmith, IND at MIA

SF/PG Terance Mann, ATL vs. OKC

FanDuel Main Slate Only

SF/PF LeBron James, LAL vs. LAC (Boost if Doncic is out)

PF/C Naz Reid, MIN at UTA

SF/PF Jaden McDaniels, MIN at UTA

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Myles Turner, IND | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.8k | at MIA

As usual, Nikola Jokic (DK: $12.2k, FD: $12.8k) is always an option at the top of pricing. But there are also plenty of more affordable centers that stand out as appealing plays. Myles Turner is one of those guys out of the mid-range. Since returning from a neck injury that held him out for three games, Turner has averaged an excellent 1.26 FPPM over his last four contests, resulting in 41.25 DKFP/41.9 FDFP per game. Miami has also been a decent matchup for centers as they have allowed the 10th most FPPG to the position L20Games. Turner has also put up a couple of strong showings against the Heat this season, headlined by a 52.75 DKFP/51.30 FDFP performance back in November.

C Zach Collins, CHI | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6.3k | vs. TOR

Backup center Jalen Smith is expected back following a concussion, and is listed as probable, but starting center Nikola Vucevic (calf/doubtful) is likely to miss his third game in a row. As a result, Zach Collins should pick up another spot start, and he exploded for 57.75 DKFP/54.9 FDFP against the Clippers on Wednesday while playing 38 minutes. He’s now averaging 1.26 FPPM as a starter and, while Collins likely isn’t going to play 35+ minutes again with Jalen Smith back in the mix, he does seem poised to play roughly 30 minutes as the starter, which would still be plenty of time to return value. The Raptors have also ranked 26th versus starting centers L10Games and they’re 24th on the season in DEFRTG so there are no real matchup concerns here.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN at DET

C Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK at MEM (Currently questionable - boost if J. Hart is out)

C Jalen Duren, DET vs. DEN

C Nic Claxton, BKN vs. POR

C Onyeka Okongwu, ATL vs. OKC

C Yves Missi, NOP at PHX

C Nick Richards, PHX vs. NOP

C Jalen Smith, CHI vs. TOR

C Isaiah Stewart, DET vs. DEN

FanDuel Main Slate Only

C Ivica Zubac, LAC at LAL

C Walker Kessler, UTA vs. MIN

DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

Eleven games reside on the Wednesday schedule -- DraftKings will exclude the two late games (PHX/OKC and ORL/SAC) from their main slate while FanDuel will feature the full menu. The injury report is also a complete fiasco so keep those eyes and ears peeled for all the news that drops throughout the afternoon and evening! Let’s jump into the chaos!

PG/SG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $7.7k, FD: $8.3k | vs. NOP

The Nuggets lead the slate with a lofty 124.8 implied team total so the Denver studs will make plenty of sense today. Jamal Murray has been playing very well of late, averaging 1.21 FPPM L5Games and scoring at least 42.0 DKFP/44.0 FDFP in four of those last five games. He has secured 40+ FP in all three previous meetings with the Pelicans this season and, given their 29th-ranked DEFRTG and 29th-ranked DvP versus starting PGs L20Games, Murray’s expectations should be high once again this evening.

PG/SG Isaiah Collier, UTA | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.2k | vs. GSW

Perhaps not the most exciting DFS play, but Isaiah Collier has provided some quality value in recent weeks, routinely returning 6x value at these low-$5k price points. Collier’s minutes and role should be more secure with Collin Sexton (ankle/out) expected to be sidelined for at least a week -- with Sexton only playing three minutes in Monday’s game, Collier went on to supply a point/assist double-double in 32 minutes versus the Pacers. Collier has also shot it significantly better at home this season with a 48.5% FG% versus a 32.6% FG% on the road. This may not be the best match-up but Collier did post a quality 12/6/9 stat line and 31.0 DKFP/28.7 FDFP against the Warriors just last Tuesday, and that was with Sexton active and putting up 30 points of his own.

SG Gradey Dick, TOR | DK: $4.2k, FD: $4.6k | vs. MEM

The Raptors will be shorthanded today with RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl, and Immanuel Quickley ruled out. Gradey Dick has seen a notable +4.5% USG% boost with those three players off the court this season along with a +5.8 FP per 32 minutes increase. Both teams in this game rank top 10 in pace, with Memphis ranking 1st in the NBA, so there will be plenty of possessions to go around. If the Raptors (+10.5) hope to pull off the upset, Gradey Dick will likely need to be heavily involved in the scoring.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Cade Cunningham, DET vs. CLE

PG Tyrese Maxey, PHI vs. MIA

PG/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. CHI

SG/SF Trey Murphy III, NOP at DEN

PG Darius Garland, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)

PG/SG Dyson Daniels, ATL vs. SAS

PG Josh Giddey, CHI at MIN

PG Jordan Poole, WAS at BKN

PG Keyonte George, UTA vs. GSW

SG/SF Bilal Coulibaly, WAS at BKN

SG/SF Christian Braun, DEN vs. NOP

PG/SG Keon Johnson, BKN vs. WAS

PG Ty Jerome, CLE at DET (Preferred if D. Mitchell is out)

PG Jamal Shead, TOR vs. MEM

FanDuel Main Slate Only

SG/SF Devin Booker, PHX at OKC

PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC vs. ORL

PG/SG Cole Anthony, ORL at SAC

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.7k | at TOR

Over the last two games, JJJ has led the Grizzlies in scoring, with 31 and 37 points, as well as usage rate, with 31.8% USG% and 43.8% USG%. One of those games was without Ja Morant, but the other was without Desmond Bane, who will be out once again tonight. For a big man, Jackson is not a very prolific rebounder, but he can rack up multiple blocks and steals on any given night and he’ll draw a strong individual match-up. The Raptors have ranked 27th versus starting PFs L20Games and when these teams met in late December, Jackson dropped 50.25 DKFP/49.2 FDFP. I believe we can get a similar result out of him this evening.

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.6k | vs. NOP

MPJ has mostly been a solid floor play throughout this season but he erupted for 36 points and 52.75 DKFP/49.4 FDFP against this same Pelicans team on Monday. I believe the Peyton Watson (knee/out) injury is a bit underrated in regards to Porter’s role. Watson has been a key piece off of the Nuggets’ bench this season and, with Watson sidelined the last two games, Porter has played 40+ minutes in each contest. We can’t expect a repeat performance from Monday but I’d say 40+ FP is well within Porter’s wheelhouse tonight.

PF Matas Buzelis, CHI | DK: $4k, FD: $4.2k | at MIN

The Bulls took Buzelis with the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. With Zach LaVine shipped off to the Kings and none of the recently acquired players (Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, Tre Jones) ready to make their Chicago debut, Buzelis will have a chance to continue playing in an expanded role. He logged a season-high 31 minutes off of the bench in last night’s game versus the Heat and went on to score 24 points and 32.0 DKFP/31.4 FDFP. Buzelis has averaged a respectable 0.92 FPPM L5Games and, should he flirt with 30 minutes again tonight, he’ll be a great bet to return some nice value.

Other Forwards to Consider

PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at CHA

SF/PG Scottie Barnes, TOR vs. MEM

PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)

PF/C John Collins, UTA vs. GSW

PF/C Naz Reid, MIN vs. CHI

PF/C Guerschon Yabusele, PHI vs. MIA

SF/PF Zaccharie Risacher, ATL vs. SAS

SF/PF Justin Edwards, PHI vs. MIA

SF/SG Corey Kispert, WAS at BKN

SF/PF Gregory Jackson, MEM at TOR

SF/PF Justin Champagnie WAS at BKN (Preferred if starting)

SF/SG Ja’Kobe Walter, TOR vs. MEM (Preferred if starting)

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PF/SF Paolo Banchero, ORL at SAC

SF/SG Grayson Allen, PHX at OKC

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $6.8k, FD: $6.9k | vs. CHI

Gobert continues to play some of his best basketball of the season following a 19/13/3 (plus two blocks and a steal) stat line against the Kings on Monday. He has now scored at least 37.0 DKFP/36.5 FDFP in five of his last six games, including three games of at least 47.25 DKFP/48.1 FDFP in that span. Gobert has averaged +4.6 FP per 32 minutes with Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo (both out) off the floor this season and, as always, the Bulls represent an elite match-up for opposing centers, ranking 29th against the position this season. Gobert’s DFS salaries are on the up and up but there’s still some real upside at his sub-$7k price points.

C Kelly Olynyk, TOR | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4k | vs. MEM

There is some pretty clear value here with Kelly Olynyk expected to start in place of the injured Jakob Poeltl. In his only other start this season, which also came against the Grizzlies in late December, Olynyk averaged 1.20 FPPM and scored 27.75 DKFP/25.50 FDFP. Olynyk only played 23 minutes in that game but I believe he could get closer to 26-28 minutes as the starter tonight. Either way, he won’t have to do much to pay off these bottom-of-the-barrel salaries tonight.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. NOP

C Victor Wembanyama, SAS at ATL

C Mark Williams, CHA vs. MIL

C Jalen Duren, DET vs. CLE

C Kel’el Ware, MIA at PHI

C Zach Edey, MEM at TOR

C Kevon Looney, GSW at UTA

C Quinten Post, GSW at UTA
