DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

Strap in for some Monday madness! While there are a dozen games on the schedule, both DraftKings and FanDuel will be nixing the two latest games from their main slates, bringing the total down to a still-hefty 10-game slate. I am completely fine with that decision because, as has been the norm, the injury report is loaded once again so there will be a ton of news to soak in today. And all of that news, plus starting lineups, will be rolling down the pipeline in a hurry. Every game on this slate will be tipping off within a one-hour window, beginning at 7:30 ET and continuing through 8:30 ET. I can’t say for certain, but this may be the first time this season that so many games are getting underway within an hour of each other. Best of luck!

Main Slate Match-Ups w/ Game Totals & Point Spreads

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Luka Doncic, LAL | DK: $12k, FD: $12k | at BKN

Luka is currently questionable due to back soreness but, assuming he’s able to suit up, there is no doubt that he should be on the radar as a go-to spend-up. This will be the first game that Doncic has played with the Lakers where he won’t be sharing the court with LeBron James (groin/out) -- James is expected to miss 1-to-2 weeks with that groin injury, so it will be the Luka show for the immediate future. The Lakers are also down several role players -- Rui Hachimura, Jaxson Hayes, and Dorian Finney-Smith being the main ones. Doncic has only played 11 games with the Lakers, so the sample sizes are small, but just with LeBron off the floor, his usage has skyrocketed by +16.8%. If we also take Hachimura and Hayes off, we’ll see that the usage rate increases further by 21.2 percentage points. The matchup isn’t super optimal as the Nets have played at the slowest pace in the NBA this season, but they’ve also ranked 23rd in DEFRTG, so it all evens out to being a fairly neutral matchup for Luka and the Lakers.

PG Ja Morant, MEM | DK: $8.6k, FD: $8.5k | vs. PHX

There are seven games on this 10-game slate with a total of over 230 points, but this matchup between the Grizzlies and Suns sits at the top with its huge 245 over/under, and it also owns the narrowest spread on the slate (MEM -3.5). With Memphis leading the NBA in pace and the Suns ranked dead last in DEFRTG L15Games, the huge total makes plenty of sense. These teams last met a couple of weeks ago, and things turned into a thrilling trackmeet, with Memphis emerging with the 151-148 overtime victory. Like most teams today, Memphis will not be at full strength. The two most notable Grizzlies who have already been ruled out are Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama. In 150 minutes played with those two off the floor, Morant has taken on a team-leading +5.81% USG% increase. Morant is on the heels of two very strong games, and while he did play 37 minutes yesterday in the first game of a back-to-back, he carries no injury designation into this game, and the Suns are also on the second leg of their own B2B.

PG/SG Lonnie Walker IV, PHI | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4.4k | at ATL

We’ve started by highlighting two pricey guards so we need to spotlight some value as well. There is no shortage of viable cheap guard options, and that’s even before any of the key “questionable” players on this slate potentially get ruled out. For the 76ers, they’ll now be down Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Kelly Oubre Jr., along with a few other role players. That will leave them very thin on shooters. I would expect Lonnie Walker IV to enter the starting lineup tonight but, even if he continues to play off of the bench, he should see plenty of minutes and usage. He had his best game of the 2024-25 campaign yesterday against the Jazz, dropping a 25/11/5 stat line and scoring 50.25 DKFP/46.70 FDFP across 34 minutes. His 25.0% USG% also ranked second on the team. Walker is now averaging over an FPPM across his L5Games and, even in the event of a blowout (PHI +11.5), I’d be surprised if Walker doesn’t play 30+ minutes tonight.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC vs. DEN

PG/SG Devin Booker, PHX at MEM

PG Josh Giddey, CHI vs. IND

SG Desmond Bane, MEM vs. PHX

PG/SG Austin Reaves, LAL at BKN (Boost if Doncic is out)

PG/SG Quentin Grimes, PHI at ATL

PG/SG Derrick White, BOS vs. UTA (Boost if Tatum is out)

PG Immanuel Quickley, TOR vs. WAS

PG/SG Stephon Castle, SAS vs. DAL (Currently questionable)

SG/SF Christian Braun, DEN at OKC (Preferred if Jokic and/or Murray are out)

PG/SG Payton Pritchard, BOS vs. UTA (Preferred if Tatum is out)

PG Russell Westbrook, DEN at OKC (Preferred if starting)

PG Tre Jones, CHI vs. IND

PG Brandon Williams, DAL at SAS (Currently questionable)

PG/SG Jared Butler, PHI at ATL (Boost if starting)

PG Scotty Pippen Jr., MEM vs. PHX

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

SF/SG Jaylen Brown, BOS | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.5k | at UTA

At the top of pricing, there aren’t as many standout forward plays as there are at guard -- more so just a lot of “good, not great” looking options. Jaylen Brown looks to be as strong of a play as any when we’re talking forward-eligible players, out of this general price range. The Celtics get a cakewalk matchup at home versus the Jazz, who continue to rank dead last in DEFRTG and have allowed the 3rd most FPPG to SF starters L20Games. Brown has been very consistent in the games he has suited up in recently and he leads the team with a +3.0% USG% increase with Kristaps Porzingis (illness/doubtful) off the floor. That goes up to a team-leading +5.5% USG% boost, as well as a +7.01 FP per 32 minutes increase, with Porzingis AND Jayson Tatum (knee/questionable) off the floor -- and +6.9% USG%/+11.5 FP per 32/min with Al Horford (toe/questionable) also off the floor. The Celtics, who are currently 17-point favorites, certainly do not need Tatum’s or Horford’s services to win this game, so it would not be a surprise if one or both of those guys take the night off.

SF/PF Naji Marshall, DAL | DK: $6.8k, FD: $7.2k | at SAS

The injury situation in Dallas continues to be very grim and they could be down to the league minimum of eight active players if Brandon Williams and Jaden Hardy (both questionable) are unable to play tonight. Naji Marshall has, by necessity, been thrust into a major role for the current version of the Mavs, and he’s coming off of a monster 34/9/10 (w/ two steals) stat line in yesterdays game versus the Suns, resulting in 66.25 DKFP/63.80 FDFP across 41 minutes. The back-to-back is a concern but Marshall will likely need to handle heavy minutes once again, and he has averaged a stout 1.43 FPPM over his last four games for the depleted Mavs. Dallas (+6.5) isn’t a major underdog here and it is a strong individual matchup for Marshall as the Spurs have allowed the most FPPG to PF starters over their L20Games.

SF/SG Dalton Knecht, LAL | DK: $4.4k, FD: $4.6k | at BKN

There will most certainly be more value options to choose from once some of the “questionable” guys start dropping leading up to tipoff, but Knecht looks like an interesting cheap play as it stands now. His playing time has already been trending upward lately, with 21+ minutes in four consecutive games, and now the absences of LeBron James and Dorian Finney-Smith (and potentially Luka Doncic), should only solidify those minutes. He’s averaging a respectable 0.93 FPPM L5Games and his usage should receive a notable bump as well. We saw Knecht pop for some big games earlier in his rookie season and, if he gets the hot hand, he can easily return big value on these mid-$4k salaries.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. UTA (Currently questionable)

SF/PF Kevin Durant, PHX at MEM

SF/PF Jalen Williams, OKC vs. DEN

PF Miles Bridges, CHA at MIA

PF Pascal Siakam, IND at CHI

SF/SG Klay Thompson, DAL at SAS

PF Tari Eason, HOU vs. ORL

SF/SG Caris LeVert, ATL vs. PHI

SF Bennedict Mathurin, IND at CHI (Boost if Haliburton remains out)

PF Jarred Vanderbilt, LAL at BKN

PF/C Brandon Clarke, MEM vs. PHX (Currently questionable)

SF/PF Justin Edwards, PHI at ATL

PF/C Kessler Edwards, DAL at SAS

SF/PF Ricky Council IV, PHI at ATL

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Onyeka Okongwu, ATL | DK: $6.8k, FD: $7.5k | vs. PHI

There aren’t many centers that jump off of the page today, especially if the Joker gets ruled out, but Onyeka Okongwu will once again pique my interest. He had a bit of a dud the last time I threw him a spotlight (last Tuesday vs. MIL), but he has put up at least 39.0 DKFP/38.4 FDFP in four of his last five games while averaging an excellent 1.29 FPPM in that span. As long as he continues to play 32+ minutes, as he has done in five of his last six games, then he sets up well versus a shorthanded 76ers frontcourt that has ranked 29th versus centers over their L5Games.

C Orlando Robinson, TOR | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4.1k | vs. WAS

The Raptors remain thin in the frontcourt with several forwards and centers out tonight. With Jakob Poeltl sitting out for rest purposes, Orlando Robinson should get another spot start in a strong matchup. These two teams just met two days ago and Robinson secured 24.75 DKFP/27.90 FDFP in 24 minutes off of the bench and he is averaging a solid 0.91 FPPM on the season. He may not play 30+ minutes, even as a starter, but Robinson has a clear pathway to 6x value (or better) versus a Wizards team that has ranked 29th versus centers L10Games.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN at OKC (Currently questionable)

C Myles Turner, IND at CHI

C Kel’el Ware, MIA vs. CHA

C Alexandre Sarr, WAS at TOR

C Zach Edey, MEM vs. PHX

C Mason Plumlee, PHX at MEM

C Adem Bona, PHI at ATL (Boost if Drummond is out)

C Trey Jemison, LAL at BKN (Only if starting)

DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

It’s another busy day in the NBA. Eleven games reside on the Wednesday schedule -- DraftKings will exclude the two late games (PHX/OKC and ORL/SAC) from their main slate while FanDuel will feature the full menu. Trades continue to go down with the biggest move today involving the Bucks and Wizards trading Khris Middleton for Kyle Kuzma. The injury report is also a complete fiasco so keep those eyes and ears peeled for all the news that drops throughout the afternoon and evening! Let’s jump into the chaos! Best of luck!

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG/SG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $7.7k, FD: $8.3k | vs. NOP

The Nuggets lead the slate with a lofty 124.8 implied team total so the Denver studs will make plenty of sense today. Jamal Murray has been playing very well of late, averaging 1.21 FPPM L5Games and scoring at least 42.0 DKFP/44.0 FDFP in four of those last five games. He has secured 40+ FP in all three previous meetings with the Pelicans this season and, given their 29th-ranked DEFRTG and 29th-ranked DvP versus starting PGs L20Games, Murray’s expectations should be high once again this evening.

PG/SG Isaiah Collier, UTA | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.2k | vs. GSW

Perhaps not the most exciting DFS play, but Isaiah Collier has provided some quality value in recent weeks, routinely returning 6x value at these low-$5k price points. Collier’s minutes and role should be more secure with Collin Sexton (ankle/out) expected to be sidelined for at least a week -- with Sexton only playing three minutes in Monday’s game, Collier went on to supply a point/assist double-double in 32 minutes versus the Pacers. Collier has also shot it significantly better at home this season with a 48.5% FG% versus a 32.6% FG% on the road. This may not be the best match-up but Collier did post a quality 12/6/9 stat line and 31.0 DKFP/28.7 FDFP against the Warriors just last Tuesday, and that was with Sexton active and putting up 30 points of his own.

SG Gradey Dick, TOR | DK: $4.2k, FD: $4.6k | vs. MEM

The Raptors will be shorthanded today with RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl, and Immanuel Quickley ruled out. Gradey Dick has seen a notable +4.5% USG% boost with those three players off the court this season along with a +5.8 FP per 32 minutes increase. Both teams in this game rank top 10 in pace, with Memphis ranking 1st in the NBA, so there will be plenty of possessions to go around. If the Raptors (+10.5) hope to pull off the upset, Gradey Dick will likely need to be heavily involved in the scoring.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Cade Cunningham, DET vs. CLE

PG Tyrese Maxey, PHI vs. MIA

PG/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. CHI

SG/SF Trey Murphy III, NOP at DEN

PG Darius Garland, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)

PG/SG Dyson Daniels, ATL vs. SAS

PG Josh Giddey, CHI at MIN

PG Jordan Poole, WAS at BKN

PG Keyonte George, UTA vs. GSW

SG/SF Bilal Coulibaly, WAS at BKN

SG/SF Christian Braun, DEN vs. NOP

PG/SG Keon Johnson, BKN vs. WAS

PG Ty Jerome, CLE at DET (Preferred if D. Mitchell is out)

PG Jamal Shead, TOR vs. MEM

FanDuel Main Slate Only

SG/SF Devin Booker, PHX at OKC

PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC vs. ORL

PG/SG Cole Anthony, ORL at SAC

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.7k | at TOR

Over the last two games, JJJ has led the Grizzlies in scoring, with 31 and 37 points, as well as usage rate, with 31.8% USG% and 43.8% USG%. One of those games was without Ja Morant, but the other was without Desmond Bane, who will be out once again tonight. For a big man, Jackson is not a very prolific rebounder, but he can rack up multiple blocks and steals on any given night and he’ll draw a strong individual match-up. The Raptors have ranked 27th versus starting PFs L20Games and when these teams met in late December, Jackson dropped 50.25 DKFP/49.2 FDFP. I believe we can get a similar result out of him this evening.

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.6k | vs. NOP

MPJ has mostly been a solid floor play throughout this season but he erupted for 36 points and 52.75 DKFP/49.4 FDFP against this same Pelicans team on Monday. I believe the Peyton Watson (knee/out) injury is a bit underrated in regards to Porter’s role. Watson has been a key piece off of the Nuggets’ bench this season and, with Watson sidelined the last two games, Porter has played 40+ minutes in each contest. We can’t expect a repeat performance from Monday but I’d say 40+ FP is well within Porter’s wheelhouse tonight.

PF Matas Buzelis, CHI | DK: $4k, FD: $4.2k | at MIN

The Bulls took Buzelis with the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. With Zach LaVine shipped off to the Kings and none of the recently acquired players (Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, Tre Jones) ready to make their Chicago debut, Buzelis will have a chance to continue playing in an expanded role. He logged a season-high 31 minutes off of the bench in last night’s game versus the Heat and went on to score 24 points and 32.0 DKFP/31.4 FDFP. Buzelis has averaged a respectable 0.92 FPPM L5Games and, should he flirt with 30 minutes again tonight, he’ll be a great bet to return some nice value.

Other Forwards to Consider

PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at CHA

SF/PG Scottie Barnes, TOR vs. MEM

PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)

PF/C John Collins, UTA vs. GSW

PF/C Naz Reid, MIN vs. CHI

PF/C Guerschon Yabusele, PHI vs. MIA

SF/PF Zaccharie Risacher, ATL vs. SAS

SF/PF Justin Edwards, PHI vs. MIA

SF/SG Corey Kispert, WAS at BKN

SF/PF Gregory Jackson, MEM at TOR

SF/PF Justin Champagnie WAS at BKN (Preferred if starting)

SF/SG Ja’Kobe Walter, TOR vs. MEM (Preferred if starting)

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PF/SF Paolo Banchero, ORL at SAC

SF/SG Grayson Allen, PHX at OKC

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $6.8k, FD: $6.9k | vs. CHI

Gobert continues to play some of his best basketball of the season following a 19/13/3 (plus two blocks and a steal) stat line against the Kings on Monday. He has now scored at least 37.0 DKFP/36.5 FDFP in five of his last six games, including three games of at least 47.25 DKFP/48.1 FDFP in that span. Gobert has averaged +4.6 FP per 32 minutes with Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo (both out) off the floor this season and, as always, the Bulls represent an elite match-up for opposing centers, ranking 29th against the position this season. Gobert’s DFS salaries are on the up and up but there’s still some real upside at his sub-$7k price points.

C Kelly Olynyk, TOR | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4k | vs. MEM

There is some pretty clear value here with Kelly Olynyk expected to start in place of the injured Jakob Poeltl. In his only other start this season, which also came against the Grizzlies in late December, Olynyk averaged 1.20 FPPM and scored 27.75 DKFP/25.50 FDFP. Olynyk only played 23 minutes in that game but I believe he could get closer to 26-28 minutes as the starter tonight. Either way, he won’t have to do much to pay off these bottom-of-the-barrel salaries tonight.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. NOP

C Victor Wembanyama, SAS at ATL

C Mark Williams, CHA vs. MIL

C Jalen Duren, DET vs. CLE

C Kel’el Ware, MIA at PHI

C Zach Edey, MEM at TOR

C Kevon Looney, GSW at UTA

C Quinten Post, GSW at UTA

FanDuel Main Slate Only

C/PF Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. ORL

C Isaiah Hartenstein, OKC vs. PHX
