DFS Main Slate Rundown đź“°
It’s a busy St. Paddy’s Day in the NBA with 10 games on the board! In an unusual twist, FanDuel will be the site that is nixing the latest game of the night (LAL vs. SAS, 10:30 ET) from their main slate, while DraftKings will feature all 10 games on their respective slate. This will be a remarkably West Coast-heavy slate where five games will be tipping off in the 10 o’clock ET window. And only one game (NYK vs. MIA, 7:30 ET) is tipping off before 8 o’clock ET. I mention all this because it’s very possible that we won’t have some impactful injury news until after the slate officially gets underway at 7:30 ET. So, while it’s always crucial in NBA DFS to stay on top of news throughout the evening, that will be especially true today! There could be some critical late-swap moves to be made tonight. Also, just as a heads up, I’m writing today’s newsletter a bit earlier than usual, so the “key injuries” list below may not be fully up-to-date by the time you’re reading this as some teams, in typical annoying NBA fashion, have not released an official Monday injury report yet. Just be prepared for some chaos! Best of luck! 🍀

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays
Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.
Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
SG/SF Coby White, CHI | DK: $7.8k, FD: $7.7k | at UTA
It’s difficult to look past Coby White given his recent stranglehold on the backcourt usage. With Josh Giddey listed as doubtful, Ayo Dosunmu done for the season, Lonzo Ball still out, and Zach LaVine now with the Kings, White has taken on a hefty 31.6% USG% L5Games. In over 300 minutes played with those four aforementioned players off the floor this season, White has led the Bulls with a +7.64% USG% increase and has averaged +7.2 more FP per 32 minutes. He will draw a dream matchup versus the Jazz (29th in DEFRTG) who have allowed the most FPPG to starting SGs L20Games.

PG/SG Miles McBride, NYK | DK: $5.5k, FD: $6.3k | vs. MIA
With Jalen Brunson (ankle/out) likely sidelined for another week or two, Miles McBride will continue to take on a heavier workload while sticking in the starting rotation. McBride is receiving the typical Tom Thibodeau treatment, playing heavy minutes as a starter (36.7 Min/gm L5Starts), and he has hit a productive stride recently, scoring 33.75 DKFP/32.0 FDFP, 32.25 DKFP/35.7 FDFP, and 41.25 DKFP/41.1 FDFP over his last three games. The Knicks are also returning from a five-game road trip so this will be McBride’s first home start since Feb. 20th when he dropped 49.5 DKFP/52.7 FDFP against the Bulls. This game does own, by far, the lowest total of the day (209.5 O/U) but McBride remains an affordable option who should once again log big minutes in a fairly competitive game. The Heat have also allowed 38.9 DKFP/37.7 FDFP per game to PG starters L20Games. If McBride hits around that mark, I’d say we’d be pretty happy with that result at these current price points.
PG Scotty Pippen Jr., MEM | DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.5k | at SAC
Pippen is questionable with a wrist injury tonight, and with this being a 10 o’clock ET tipoff, we may not know his status until later in the evening. I would assume that he’ll suit up, and if so, he’s going to be an appealing value option while Ja Morant is sidelined and Santi Aldama is listed as doubtful. With both of those players out in the Grizzlies last game on Saturday, Pippen went on to supply 11 points, 11 assists, six rebounds, two steals, and a block across 29 minutes off of the bench -- a performance that secured 43.0 DKFP/42.7 FDFP. Even when Morant has been in the lineup recently, Pippen has been playing very well with the second unit and has posted a quality 1.16 FPPM L5Games across 26.8 Min/gm. He’s been snagging a slew of steals lately, and as long as he is able to play tonight, he should be a strong value target with the potential to play around 30 minutes in an expanded role.
Other Guards to Consider
PG Cade Cunningham, DET at NOP
PG Steph Curry, GSW vs. DEN (Currently questionable)
SG Desmond Bane, MEM at SAC
PG/SG Quentin Grimes, PHI at HOU
PG/SG Jalen Green, HOU vs. PHI
PG/SG Anfernee Simons, POR vs. WAS
PG Immanuel Quickley. TOR at PHX
PG Tre Jones, CHI at UTA
PG Jeff Dowtin, PHI at HOU
PG/SG Luke Kennard, MEM at SAC (Only if starting)
PG Tyus Jones, PHX vs. TOR (Preferred if starting)
SG/SF Marcus Smart, WAS at POR (Currently questionable)
SG/SF Gary Payton II, GSW vs. DEN (Boost if Curry is out)
PG/SG Collin Gillespie, PHX vs. TOR (Only if Beal and/or Allen are out)
DraftKings Main Slate Only
PG Luka Doncic, LAL vs. SAS
PG/SG Austin Reaves, LAL vs. SAS
PG/SG Stephon Castle, SAS at LAL
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
SF Jimmy Butler, GSW | DK: $7.7k, FD: $7.9k | vs. DEN
I don’t have any high-conviction plays at the top of forward pricing today so we’ll start this section off with a Jimmy Butler spotlight. While it hasn’t always resulted in big DFS results, Butler has melded exceptionally well with the Warriors, who have won 14 of 15 games with him in the lineup. Butler is coming off a couple of underwhelming performances, but one of those games was a low-scoring 97-94 victory over the Knicks and the other was a 130-104 blowout over the Kings. In the three games before those two contests, Butler was putting up some quality performances while averaging 46.3 DKFP/44.9 FDFP and 1.30 FPPM. He will also be more of an offensive focal point if Steph Curry (back/questionable) is ruled out tonight. The matchup also sets up well as this game owns a high 236.5 over/under alongside one of the closer spreads on the slate, with the Warriors being 4.5-point home favorites. The Nuggets have allowed the 3rd most FPPG to SF starters L20Games as well, so we could see a very productive game out of Butler tonight and I doubt he’ll crack beyond 10% ownership.
SF/PF OG Anunoby, NYK | DK: $7k, FD: $7.5k | vs. MIA
I normally don’t make it a point to spotlight multiple players from the lowest total game of the day, but OG Anunoby is going to make plenty of sense today. Anunoby can still put up great numbers in lower-scoring games thanks to the fact that he’s locked into massive minutes -- he just dropped 45.25 DKFP/46.8 FDFP against the Warriors on Saturday in a game that combined for just 191 points. While he doesn’t see a significant usage boost with Jalen Brunson off the court, he has averaged +5.2 more FP per 32 minutes in those splits. And he went for 53.25 DKFP/55.3 FDFP in this same matchup versus the Heat fifteen days ago. I believe both OG Anunoby and the aforementioned Jimmy Butler make for quality pivots away from the likely $7k chalk forward, Deni Avdija, today.

PF/C Obi Toppin, IND | DK: $3.6k, FD: $4.4k | at MIN
One piece of chalk I don’t see myself going away from today is Obi Toppin. After playing in all 66 games for the Pacers, Pascal Siakam (personal/out) will be missing his first game of the season tonight (center Myles Turner is also questionable). While it’s no guarantee he starts this evening, Obi Toppin would be the most sensible option to enter the starting rotation at power forward in place of Siakam. Either way, he is in line for increased minutes one way or the other. Toppin has averaged over an FPPM this season and when he gets rolling, he can exceed far beyond that per-minute average. I imagine he will play, at minimum, 25 minutes tonight, and even in a less-than-ideal matchup (MIN: 6th in DEFRTG, 24th in pace), Toppin is too productive to pass on at these low-end salaries.
Other Forwards to Consider
PF/C Kevin Durant, PHX vs. TOR
PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM at SAC
SF/PF Josh Hart, NYK vs. MIA
SF/PF Deni Avdija, POR vs. WAS
PF Tari Eason, HOU vs. PHI (Preferred if starting)
PF/C Draymond Green, GSW vs. DEN
PF Tobias Harris, DET at NOP
SF/PF Justin Champagnie, WAS at POR
SF/SG Kevin Huerter, CHI at UTA
PF Aaron Gordon, DEN at GSW (Currently questionable)
SF/PF Ricky Council IV, PHI at HOU (Boost if Yabusele is out)
SF/PF Moses Moody, GSE vs. DEN
PF/C Oshae Brissett, PHI at HOU (Boost if Yabusele is out)
SF/PF Ryan Dunn, PHX vs. TOR (Only if starting again)
SF/SG Johnny Juzang, UTA vs. CHI (Pending UTA injury report)
DraftKings Main Slate Only
SF/SG Devin Vassell, SAS at LAL
SF/PF Keldon Johnson, SAS at LAL
Centers to Consider 🏀
C Walker Kessler, UTA | DK: $7.5k, FD: $7.7k | vs. CHI
The Jazz have been extremely annoying with their lineups the last couple of months and they are playing on the second leg of a back-to-back. But, at the time of this writing (roughly 3 ET), Kessler, who has been in and out of the lineup lately, is not on the injury report after playing 31 minutes yesterday. When he has been in the lineup in recent weeks, Kessler has displayed a huge ceiling and within his last seven starts, he has three games where he has posted monster DFS scores of 49.0 DKFP/55.3 FDFP (at MEM), 64.75 DKFP/68.0 FDFP (at TOR), and 55.5 DKFP/55.3 FDFP (vs. SAC). He has averaged a stout 1.39 FPPM L5Games and ranks 3rd in the NBA with 2.4 blocks/gm this season. The matchup also doesn’t get better as the Bulls have ranked dead last versus starting centers L20Games.
Update: A ton of Jazz injury info was released as I was writing this (updated in the injury report above) and Kessler, so far, has not been mentioned. So, at least for now, it looks like he’s good to go on the B2B.

C Jakob Poeltl, TOR | DK: $6k, FD: $7.2k | at PHX
Very similar situation with Poeltl here as with the aforementioned Kessler. The Toronto lineup has seen quite a bit of turnover lately, particularly in the frontcourt, and they’re also on the back end of a B2B. Poeltl currently doesn’t have an injury designation but, with this being a 10 ET tipoff, the Raptors’ injury report will likely be updated any moment now. If he suits up, Poeltl will at least be an intriguing mid-range option. He hasn’t been playing big minutes lately (23.2 Min/gm L5Games) but he has been outstanding on a per-minute basis, averaging 1.49 FPPM in that five-game span. The Suns have been terrible defensively, ranking 29th in DEFRTG L15Games, and they’ve allowed the 4th most FPPG to starting centers L20Games. Poeltl’s price point is more appealing on DraftKings at a flat $6,000 so he’s a preferred option there. If Poeltl ends up being ruled out, Orlando Robinson (DK: $5k, FD: $5.4k) would immediately become one of the most appealing values at the position -- he has crushed value in each of the last two games with Poeltl out of the lineup.
Update: I probably should’ve seen it coming, but Poeltl was just ruled out. Orlando Robinson becomes my preferred center out of this general price range.
Other Centers to Consider
C Nikola Jokic, DEN at GSW (Currently questionable)
C Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. MEM
C Jalen Duren, DET at NOP
C Alexandre Sarr, WAS at POR
C Rudy Gobert, MIN vs. IND
C Donovan Clingan, POR vs. WAS
C Orlando Robinson, TOR at PHX
C Isaiah Stewart, DET at NOP

C Jaxson Hayes, LAL vs. SAS

DFS Main Slate Rundown đź“°
It’s another busy day in the NBA. Eleven games reside on the Wednesday schedule -- DraftKings will exclude the two late games (PHX/OKC and ORL/SAC) from their main slate while FanDuel will feature the full menu. Trades continue to go down with the biggest move today involving the Bucks and Wizards trading Khris Middleton for Kyle Kuzma. The injury report is also a complete fiasco so keep those eyes and ears peeled for all the news that drops throughout the afternoon and evening! Let’s jump into the chaos! Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀
PG/SG Jamal Murray, DEN | DK: $7.7k, FD: $8.3k | vs. NOP
The Nuggets lead the slate with a lofty 124.8 implied team total so the Denver studs will make plenty of sense today. Jamal Murray has been playing very well of late, averaging 1.21 FPPM L5Games and scoring at least 42.0 DKFP/44.0 FDFP in four of those last five games. He has secured 40+ FP in all three previous meetings with the Pelicans this season and, given their 29th-ranked DEFRTG and 29th-ranked DvP versus starting PGs L20Games, Murray’s expectations should be high once again this evening.
PG/SG Isaiah Collier, UTA | DK: $5.2k, FD: $5.2k | vs. GSW
Perhaps not the most exciting DFS play, but Isaiah Collier has provided some quality value in recent weeks, routinely returning 6x value at these low-$5k price points. Collier’s minutes and role should be more secure with Collin Sexton (ankle/out) expected to be sidelined for at least a week -- with Sexton only playing three minutes in Monday’s game, Collier went on to supply a point/assist double-double in 32 minutes versus the Pacers. Collier has also shot it significantly better at home this season with a 48.5% FG% versus a 32.6% FG% on the road. This may not be the best match-up but Collier did post a quality 12/6/9 stat line and 31.0 DKFP/28.7 FDFP against the Warriors just last Tuesday, and that was with Sexton active and putting up 30 points of his own.

SG Gradey Dick, TOR | DK: $4.2k, FD: $4.6k | vs. MEM
The Raptors will be shorthanded today with RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl, and Immanuel Quickley ruled out. Gradey Dick has seen a notable +4.5% USG% boost with those three players off the court this season along with a +5.8 FP per 32 minutes increase. Both teams in this game rank top 10 in pace, with Memphis ranking 1st in the NBA, so there will be plenty of possessions to go around. If the Raptors (+10.5) hope to pull off the upset, Gradey Dick will likely need to be heavily involved in the scoring.
Other Guards to Consider
PG Cade Cunningham, DET vs. CLE
PG Tyrese Maxey, PHI vs. MIA
PG/SG Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. CHI
SG/SF Trey Murphy III, NOP at DEN
PG Darius Garland, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)
PG/SG Dyson Daniels, ATL vs. SAS
PG Josh Giddey, CHI at MIN
PG Jordan Poole, WAS at BKN
PG Keyonte George, UTA vs. GSW
SG/SF Bilal Coulibaly, WAS at BKN
SG/SF Christian Braun, DEN vs. NOP
PG/SG Keon Johnson, BKN vs. WAS
PG Ty Jerome, CLE at DET (Preferred if D. Mitchell is out)
PG Jamal Shead, TOR vs. MEM
FanDuel Main Slate Only
SG/SF Devin Booker, PHX at OKC
PG/SG Malik Monk, SAC vs. ORL
PG/SG Cole Anthony, ORL at SAC
Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀
PF/C Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.7k | at TOR
Over the last two games, JJJ has led the Grizzlies in scoring, with 31 and 37 points, as well as usage rate, with 31.8% USG% and 43.8% USG%. One of those games was without Ja Morant, but the other was without Desmond Bane, who will be out once again tonight. For a big man, Jackson is not a very prolific rebounder, but he can rack up multiple blocks and steals on any given night and he’ll draw a strong individual match-up. The Raptors have ranked 27th versus starting PFs L20Games and when these teams met in late December, Jackson dropped 50.25 DKFP/49.2 FDFP. I believe we can get a similar result out of him this evening.

SF/PF Michael Porter Jr., DEN | DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.6k | vs. NOP
MPJ has mostly been a solid floor play throughout this season but he erupted for 36 points and 52.75 DKFP/49.4 FDFP against this same Pelicans team on Monday. I believe the Peyton Watson (knee/out) injury is a bit underrated in regards to Porter’s role. Watson has been a key piece off of the Nuggets’ bench this season and, with Watson sidelined the last two games, Porter has played 40+ minutes in each contest. We can’t expect a repeat performance from Monday but I’d say 40+ FP is well within Porter’s wheelhouse tonight.
PF Matas Buzelis, CHI | DK: $4k, FD: $4.2k | at MIN
The Bulls took Buzelis with the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. With Zach LaVine shipped off to the Kings and none of the recently acquired players (Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, Tre Jones) ready to make their Chicago debut, Buzelis will have a chance to continue playing in an expanded role. He logged a season-high 31 minutes off of the bench in last night’s game versus the Heat and went on to score 24 points and 32.0 DKFP/31.4 FDFP. Buzelis has averaged a respectable 0.92 FPPM L5Games and, should he flirt with 30 minutes again tonight, he’ll be a great bet to return some nice value.
Other Forwards to Consider
PF/C Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at CHA
SF/PG Scottie Barnes, TOR vs. MEM
PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE at DET (Boost if D. Mitchell is out)
PF/C John Collins, UTA vs. GSW
PF/C Naz Reid, MIN vs. CHI
PF/C Guerschon Yabusele, PHI vs. MIA
SF/PF Zaccharie Risacher, ATL vs. SAS
SF/PF Justin Edwards, PHI vs. MIA
SF/SG Corey Kispert, WAS at BKN
SF/PF Gregory Jackson, MEM at TOR
SF/PF Justin Champagnie WAS at BKN (Preferred if starting)
SF/SG Ja’Kobe Walter, TOR vs. MEM (Preferred if starting)
FanDuel Main Slate Only
PF/SF Paolo Banchero, ORL at SAC
SF/SG Grayson Allen, PHX at OKC
Centers to Consider 🏀
C Rudy Gobert, MIN | DK: $6.8k, FD: $6.9k | vs. CHI
Gobert continues to play some of his best basketball of the season following a 19/13/3 (plus two blocks and a steal) stat line against the Kings on Monday. He has now scored at least 37.0 DKFP/36.5 FDFP in five of his last six games, including three games of at least 47.25 DKFP/48.1 FDFP in that span. Gobert has averaged +4.6 FP per 32 minutes with Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo (both out) off the floor this season and, as always, the Bulls represent an elite match-up for opposing centers, ranking 29th against the position this season. Gobert’s DFS salaries are on the up and up but there’s still some real upside at his sub-$7k price points.

C Kelly Olynyk, TOR | DK: $3.3k, FD: $4k | vs. MEM
There is some pretty clear value here with Kelly Olynyk expected to start in place of the injured Jakob Poeltl. In his only other start this season, which also came against the Grizzlies in late December, Olynyk averaged 1.20 FPPM and scored 27.75 DKFP/25.50 FDFP. Olynyk only played 23 minutes in that game but I believe he could get closer to 26-28 minutes as the starter tonight. Either way, he won’t have to do much to pay off these bottom-of-the-barrel salaries tonight.
Other Centers to Consider
C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. NOP
C Victor Wembanyama, SAS at ATL
C Mark Williams, CHA vs. MIL
C Jalen Duren, DET vs. CLE
C Kel’el Ware, MIA at PHI
C Zach Edey, MEM at TOR
C Kevon Looney, GSW at UTA
C Quinten Post, GSW at UTA

C/PF Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. ORL
C Isaiah Hartenstein, OKC vs. PHX
