DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

Monday will bring forth a seven-game main slate on DraftKings, and with the inclusion of the lone late game (HOU at LAL), FanDuel will feature an eight-game main slate! We should see some competitive games tonight, as five games are being pinned with a five-point spread or lower. The injury report is fairly busy, but pretty much par for the course at this point in the season. Let’s waste no time and get right to it! Best of luck!

Top DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Plays

Note: NBA position designations are never going to perfectly align between the major DFS sites. For the purposes of these newsletters, positional designations will default to DraftKings.

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC | DK: $11k, FD: $11.6k | vs. CHI

The Thunder have won 16 of their last 17 games, securing the No. 1 seed in the West, yet MVP frontrunner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to dominate. He has posted 55+ FP in back-to-back games heading into tonight, and he’s rocking a monster 38.2% USG% over his last five games, which is a notable uptick from his 32.9% USG% on the season. The Bulls have ranked as the 2nd fastest-paced team in the NBA over their last 15 games, and even in a potential blowout (OKC -14), we should continue to get a high floor out of SGA with the off-chance of a 70+ FP ceiling-type performance (if Chicago can keep things competitive).

PG Tyrese Haliburton, IND | DK: $8.6k, FD: $9.1k | vs. SAC

Tyrese Haliburton faces his former team, the Kings, in a potentially high-scoring matchup that owns a 235 over/under. He struggled in the Pacers’ last game versus the indomitable Thunder en route to a blowout loss, but OKC tends to derail plenty of players even when they’re on a hot streak. Haliburton has posted 12 points/assists double-doubles over his last 14 games and has averaged 21.4 PPG and 11.4 APG in that span. We’ll look for him to get back on track today and Haliburton should have a bit more upside than usual. Both Myles Turner and Bennedict Mathurin are out tonight. With those players off the floor this season, Haliburton has taken on a +3.3% USG% boost and has averaged +6.3 more FP per 32 minutes.

SG/SF Pelle Larsson, MIA | DK: $4k, FD: $3.9k | at WAS

Pelle Larsson garnered a spot start for the injured Andrew Wiggins (hamstring/out) on Saturday, and he played a vital role in Miami’s decisive win over the 76ers. Larsson stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks across 30 minutes, which produced 40.0 DKFP/44.20 FDFP. It’s certainly a performance that will be difficult to follow up but Larsson should land in the starting rotation once again tonight, with a good shot at playing 30+ minutes, and the matchup is clearly a great one versus the Wizards, who remain 4th in pace and 28th in DEFRTG.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Josh Giddey, CHI at OKC

PG Ja Morant, MEM vs. BOS

PG Derrick White, BOS at MEM (Preferred if J. Brown is out)

PG/SG Spencer Dinwiddie, DAL vs. BKN

PG/SG Keyonte George, UTA at CHA (Boost if Sexton is out)

PG Isaiah Collier, UTA at CHA (Boost if Sexton is out)

PG KJ Simpson, CHA vs. UTA

PG Davion Mitchell, MIA at WAS

PG Anthony Black, ORL vs. LAC (Preferred if C. Anthony remains out)

PG/SG Cason Wallace, OKC vs. CHI (Preferred if starting)

PG/SG Alec Burks, MIA at WAS

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PG Luka Doncic, LAL vs. HOU

SG Jalen Green, HOU at LAL

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS | DK: $10.2k, FD: $10.2k | at MEM

While he has been a frustrating DFS option in recent months, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics should benefit from having the largest positive pace differential on the slate versus the Grizzlies. While Boston is likely to end the season as the No. 2 seed in the East, they still have a slim shot at the number one overall seed, currently 4.5 games back from the Cavs with eight games to play. Tatum heads in averaging 1.49 FPPM L5Games and nearly dropped a triple-double against the Spurs on Saturday (29/10/8 stat line). When these teams met in early December, a combined 248 points were scored, so we may see a similar shootout tonight. Also, if Jaylen Brown (knee/questionable), Tatum’s upside rises further as he has taken on a +4.4% USG% increase with Brown off the floor this season.

PF/C Kyle Filipowski, UTA | DK: $6.5k, FD: $6k | at CHA

The Jazz are more shorthanded than usual today and they’ll be particularly thin in the frontcourt with Walker Kessler, Lauri Markkanen, and John Collins all ruled out while Cody Williams is listed as questionable. They’ll also be without SG Jordan Clarkson and potentially without PG Collin Sexton (questionable). With Kessler, Markkanen, Collins, and Clarkson off the floor, Kyle Filipowski has averaged +5.4 FP per 32 minutes and his usage rate has ticked up 2.8 percentage points. He has seen his fair share of starts in recent weeks and, for the most part, he has turned out to be a great value in relation to his current DFS price points. These are two awful teams going against each other but it is a winnable game with the Jazz being 2.5-point road underdogs, so Filipowski should have a great chance at playing low-to-mid 30s minutes and he’s averaging 1.16 FPPM in his L5Games as a starter.

SF/SG Dalen Terry, CHI | DK: $3.5k, FD: $4k | at OKC

Dalen Terry has been handling some increased run off of the Bulls’ bench and he could slide into the starting rotation tonight as Chicago will be without Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, and Lonzo Ball (doubtful). Terry has logged 20+ minutes in four of the last five games and has been close to an FPPM player in that stretch. Whether he starts or continues to play off of the bench, Terry should have ample opportunity to return value on these low-end salaries, even in a difficult matchup.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Kawhi Leonard, LAC at ORL

PF/C Bam Adebayo, MIA at WAS

PF Matas Buzelis, CHI at OKC

PF/C Obi Toppin, IND vs. SAC

SF Jaylen Martin, WAS vs. MIA

SF Brice Sensabaugh, UTA at CHA

SF/PF Haywood Highsmith, MIA at WAS

PF Tidjane Salaun, CHA vs. UTA

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PF/SF LeBron James, LAL vs. HOU

SF/SG Amen Thompson, HOU at LAL

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Kel’el Ware, MIA | DK: $6.1k, FD: $6.3k | at WAS

I don’t feel compelled to spend up at center today so I won’t be forcing a spotlight onto a high-end big man. Instead, we’ll go to the $6k range and find Kel’el Ware, who continues to close out his rookie season by playing some quality ball. Ware has averaged 1.19 FPPM L5Games and has gone for at least 37.0 DKFP/35.7 FDFP in four of his last seven starts. The matchup also quite literally does not get any better as the Wizards have allowed the most FPPG to starting centers L20Games and Ware may be a bit more involved offensively with guys like Andrew Wiggins and Duncan Robinson out with injuries.

C Thomas Bryant, IND | DK: $3.2k, FD: $4.6k | vs. SAC

This is a pretty clear value target, especially on DraftKings where Bryant is only $200 above the minimum. Myles Turner will miss tonight’s action which should land Bryant back in the starting lineup. Over his last five games as a starter, Bryant is averaging 1.02 FPPM and 28.8 DKFP/28.8 FDFP while playing just over 28 minutes/gm. The $4,600 tag on FanDuel is about where he should be at, and he’s still in play there, but on DraftKings, there are very few scenarios where Bryant is going to burn you at his $3,200 price tag.

Other Centers to Consider

C Domantas Sabonis, SAC at IND

C Ivica Zubac, LAC at ORL

C Isaiah Hartenstein, OKC vs. CHI (Currently questionable - Preferred if Holmgren is out)

C Zach Edey, MEM vs. BOS (Preferred if starting)

C Jaylin Williams, OKC vs. CHI (Currently questionable - Only play if both Hartenstein and Holmgren are out)

C Oscar Tshiebwe, UTA at CHA (Assuming he starts again)

C Drew Timme, BKN at DAL

FanDuel Main Slate Only

C Alperen Sengun, HOU at LAL
