DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

A busy NBA Wednesday rolls around with nine games on the schedule! As usual, DraftKings will nix the late game (NOP at LAC) from their main slate, while FanDuel will feature the full menu. The injury report is fairly loaded today with quite a few high-impact players listed as “questionable” so it will be more vital than usual to monitor all of the news and starting lineups as they roll in. This is also looking like a day where we’ll almost certainly see several blowouts. The Hawks/Mavs matchup is the ONLY game without a double-digit spread, which is pretty wild but also on-brand for late-season NBA. Best of luck!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG Trae Young, ATL | DK: $9.8k, FD: $9.6k | at DAL

Navigating all of these potential blowouts is going to be tricky today. Some games will, of course, end up being closer than expected but, for now, this Hawks/Mavs matchup sets up as one of the “safer” game environments to target given its four-point spread and slate-leading 240.5 over/under. Trae Young happens to come in with some stellar form, having scored at least 55.5 DKFP/50.4 FDFP in three straight games. The Hawks are on the second leg of a back-to-back but, as long as Young isn’t too fatigued after playing 36 minutes last night, he sets up well versus a Mavs team that has ranked 25th versus starting PGs L20Games and has played at the 7th fastest pace L10Games.

PG/SG Stephon Castle, SAS | DK: $6.9k, FD: $7.1k | at DEN

Castle has popped off for some big games in recent weeks as the Spurs continue to close out their season without the services of Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox. They’re also going to be without Devin Vassell (back/out), Jeremy Sochan (back/out), and possibly Keldon Johnson (back/questionable)… I hope those chairs the players sit in during the game are comfortable with all of those back injuries. With all of these guys out, there isn’t really a ball-dominant player who is left to challenge Castle for usage, so I’d be mildly surprised if he doesn’t put up 20+ shots tonight. Typically, this matchup would almost certainly lead to a blowout. But there is a pretty good chance that the Nuggets will rest some key players after last night’s double-OT loss to the T-Wolves. Nikola Jokic (ankle/questionable) played a whopping 52 minutes. Neither Jamal Murray nor Michael Porter Jr. played last night but are officially questionable to suit up this evening. If Jokic plus Murray or Porter are out tonight, I believe Castle and what’s left of the Spurs can keep this game fairly competitive.

PG Chris Paul, SAS | DK: $4.3k, FD: $5.1k | at DEN

Like many of you, I’ve been at this DFS thing for quite a while now, and while I know he’s in the twilight of his career, it is still wild to see Chris Paul priced this low. He is much more of a role player these days, with his primary role being an on-court facilitator and off-court mentor for the younger Spurs, but he should need to be more involved tonight with all of those injury absences mentioned in the above Stephon Castle spotlight. Paul still has some gas in the tank and posted a quality performance last night versus the Magic with 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds, three steals, and a block across 28 minutes -- good for 34.25 DKFP/36.50 FDFP. Paul also went for 33.5 DKFP/32.10 FDFP against the Nuggets earlier this year so he is certainly capable of returning value on these current DFS price points.

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE | DK: $8.3k, FD: $8.7k | vs. NYK

There is not a lot to love at the top end of forward pricing today. Jayson Tatum (DK: $10.5k, FD: $10.4) will be intriguing, but really only if Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis (both questionable) are ruled out. So we’ll land here on Evan Mobley to start this section off. Mobley has shown plenty of 50+ FP upside throughout this season and has averaged a stout 1.36 FPPM over his last 20 starts. The matchup also sets up well as the Knicks have allowed the 7th most FPPG to PF starters L20Games.

SF/PF OG Anunoby, NYK | DK: $7.4k, FD: $7.9k | at CLE

Despite the victory, most of the Knicks’ starters struggled in what was a low-scoring environment that ended in a mild 14-point blowout over the 76ers. Anunoby still salvaged a decent day, scoring 27 points on a team-leading 37.5% USG% and 35.25 DKFP/33.0 FDFP. The matchup gets much more challenging today and Karl-Anthony Towns (knee/probable) is expected back in the rotation. But if the Knicks, who are 10-point underdogs, hope to win this game, they’ll need another big night out of Anunoby. With Brunson, Payne, McBride, and Robinson off the floor this season, Anunoby has handled a team-leading +6.12% USG% boost while averaging +8.23 FP per 32 minutes. Once again, it is a challenging spot and the Cavs have allowed the fewest FPPG to SF starters L20Games, but if the high usage is paired with strong peripherals for Anunoby this evening, he could flirt with a 50 FP night.

SF/SG Julian Champagnie, SAS | DK: $3.4k, FD: $4.2k | at DEN

Back to the Spurs shorthanded roster we go for value. Julian Champagnie is a candidate to start in place of Devin Vassell tonight but, even if he continues to play off the bench, he’ll see increased minutes and usage. Champagnie has stepped up in general recently, scoring at least 16 points and 27.25 DKFP/24.9 FDFP in three of his last six games. With Wemby, Fox, Vassell, Sochan, and Bassey off the floor this season, Champagnie is third on the team with a +3.1% USG% boost. If you add Keldon Johnson (back/questionable) to the mix, that rises drastically to a team-leading +8.53% USG% boost. So, as of now, Champagnie sets up as a solid value but he could jump to an elite value if Johnson is unable to go tonight.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. MIA (Preferred if Brown and Porzingis are out)

PF Miles Bridges, CHA at IND (Currently questionable)

SF/PF Amen Thompson, HOU vs. UTA (Boost if VanVleet is out)

SF DeMar DeRozan, SAC at WAS

SF Michael Porter Jr., DEN vs. SAS (Currently questionable - Boost if Jokic and/or Murray are out)

PF/C Kyle Filipowski, UTA at HOU

SF/PF Ausar Thompson, DET at OKC

PF/C Jabari Smith Jr., HOU vs. UTA

SF/PF Keldon Johnson, SAS at DEN (Currently questionable)

SF/PF Zaccharie Risacher, ATL at DAL

SF/SG Pelle Larsson, MIA at BOS

SF/PF Harrison Barnes, SAS at DEN

PF/C Sandro Mamukelashvili, SAS at DEN (Boost if K. Johnson is out)

FanDuel Main Slate Only

SF/PF Kawhi Leonard, LAC vs. NOP

PF/C Karlo Matkovic, NOP at LAC

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Domantas Sabonis, SAC | DK: $9.5k, FD: $9.7k | at WAS

Sabonis looks to be back up to full speed after missing much of March with injuries. In the Kings’ last game on Monday, Sabonis logged a hefty 40-minute workload, scoring 25 points and grabbing 16 boards. Targeting the Wizards with opposing centers is nothing new, and they have given up the 2nd most FPPG to starting centers L20Games. In the last meeting between these two teams, Sabonis went for a loaded 29/18/4 stat line and 59.5 DKFP/54.6 FDFP while playing 32 minutes in a 23-point blowout win. The Kings are second on the slate with a 122.8 implied team total and if the Wizards keep this remotely competitive, Sabonis may flirt with another 60 FP night. However this game plays out, he should at the very least fill in as a high-floor spend-up option on a slate that has plenty of viable cheap plays.

C Paul Reed, DET | DK: $3.1k, FD: $3.8k | at OKC

Paul Reed should fill in as Detroit’s backup center with Isaiah Stewart serving a two-game suspension. Reed has played sparingly this season -- just 9.1 minutes/gm across 40 games -- but he has racked up a sturdy 1.23 FPPM when he’s been on the court. If Reed soaks up the full burden of Isaiah Stewart’s usual workload, he should be out there for about 20 minutes tonight. And that’s not factoring in the potential for a few additional minutes if this game turns into a blowout. The Pistons are likely without Cade Cunningham (calf/doubtful) for a fifth consecutive game and they’re sizable +13.5 road underdogs against the mighty Thunder, who boast an NBA-best 63-12 record heading into tonight.

Other Centers to Consider

C Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. SAS (Currently questionable)

C Mark Williams, CHA at IND

C Jalen Duren, DET at OKC

C Jarrett Allen, CLE vs. NYK

C Luke Kornet, BOS vs. MIA (Only if Porzingis + Horford are out)

C Deandre Jordan, DEN vs. SAS (Only if Jokic is out + Jordan starts)

C Thomas Bryant, IND vs. CHA (Only if M. Turner is out)

C Bismack Biyombo, SAS at DEN

FanDuel Main Slate Only

C Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. NOP
