DFS Main Slate Rundown 📰

Depending on your site of choice, you’ll be looking at either a seven-game (DraftKings) or ten-game (FanDuel) Friday NBA main slate! As per usual, DraftKings is excluding the late game in the 10 o’clock ET window from their respective main slate. I’m not sure what to really say about this one… lots of double-digit spreads and plenty of injuries to monitor. Essentially it’s another run-of-the-mill chaotic late-season NBA slate! There is always an added layer of trickiness to NBA DFS this time of year but someone has to win the big bucks today, so let’s see if we can crack the code! Best of luck!

Note: I’m a little limited on time today so this will be a very quick newsletter!

Point Guards/Shooting Guards to Consider 🏀

PG/SG Donovan Mitchell, CLE | DK: $9.3k, FD: $9.4k | at SAS

Spida Mitchell has been on a tear, racking up 28.5 PPG, 7.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG over his last four starts. He’s averaging a whopping 1.62 FPPM in that span. The Cavs are looking to lock up the No. 1 seed in the East and are very close to doing so as the Celtics sit five games back. It wouldn’t be a surprise if some of Cleveland’s players receive some rest over the final week or so of the regular season, but that should not begin today. There is a strong risk of a blowout here (CLE -13) but it is an outstanding matchup. The Spurs have allowed the 3rd most FPPG to SG starters L20Games and Mitchell went for a cool 63.0 DKFP/60.6 FDFP when these teams met last Thursday.

PG/SG Shaedon Sharpe, POR | DK: $7.6k, FD: $7.8k | at CHI

It’s hard to overlook Shaedon Sharpe’s last two games where he poured on 36 points (57.75 DKFP/56.9 FDFP) against the Raptors and 23 points (56.0 DKFP/53.5 FDFP) against the Hawks. Anfernee Simons (forearm/questionable) was out for both of those games, so his status is very much worth monitoring as Sharpe’s ceiling is much higher with him out of the lineup. As usual, the Bulls represent an excellent matchup and have led the NBA in pace L10Games.

PG Chris Paul, SAS | DK: $4.3k, FD: $5.3k | vs. CLE

More of a DraftKings target here as Chris Paul’s price point has hardly budged following a pair of strong performances. The Spurs are getting some players back in the mix, who were out for their last game on Wednesday, but the De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama absences still loom large for San Antonio. Paul is up to a 0.95 FPPM L5Games and should be a good bet to play 30+ minutes tonight, barring an extremely early blowout.

Other Guards to Consider

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC at HOU

PG Josh Giddey, CHI vs. POR

PG Tyrese Haliburton, IND vs. UTA (Boost if some combo of Siakam/Mathurin/Nesmith are out)

PG Immanuel Quickley, TOR vs. DET

PG/SG Stephon Castle, SAS vs. CLE

PG Isaiah Collier, UTA at IND

PG KJ Simpson, CHA vs. SAC

PG/SG Delano Banton, POR at CHI (Only if Simons is out again + Banton starts)

SG/SF Ja’Kobe Walter, TOR vs. DET

PG/SG Cason Wallace, OKC at HOU

FanDuel Main Slate Only

PG James Harden, LAC vs. DAL

PG Steph Curry, GSW vs. DEN (Currently questionable)

SG/PG Brandin Podziemski, GSW vs. DEN (Boost if Curry is out)

PG Jose Alvarado, NOP at LAL

Small Forwards/Power Forwards to Consider 🏀

PF/C Chet Holmgren, OKC | DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.4k | at HOU

There is not a lot to love at the top end of forward pricing today so we’ll kick things off with Chet Holmgren. He’s perhaps not the “safest” option out there, but worthy of some consideration due to the upside he can provide at these $7k prices. Holmgren erupted for a 22/11/4 stat line on Wednesday against the Pistons, which included six blocks and two steals (58.25 DKFP/63.20 FDFP). The No. 1 seed has long been locked up for OKC but they’ve still been going full-speed in preparation for the playoffs. This matchup with the Rockets (currently the No. 2 seed in the West) could have a bit of a postseason vibe to it as OKC steps in as six-point road favorites. On paper, this is a difficult matchup for Holmgren but in the two games he has played against Houston this season, he has averaged a stout 1.41 FPPM.

SF/PF Tari Eason, HOU | DK: $6.2k, FD: $6.2k | vs. OKC

Going to the other side of this matchup, we’ll spotlight Tari Eason, who should be in line for another start in place of the suspended Dillon Brooks. Eason started in Houston’s last game on Wednesday, in place of the then-injured Fred VanVleet, and he posted a quality 15/9/3 stat line which included two steals and two blocks -- good for 38.25 DKFP/40.3 FDFP. He did all of that in just 24 minutes as the Rockets had no reason to play their starters in the fourth quarter due to a massive blowout game script over the Jazz. Things should be more competitive versus OKC tonight and, over his last five games as a starter, Eason has averaged a healthy 1.31 FPPM and 39.7 DKFP/40.9 FDFP, so we’ll like him at this $6,200 price point on both sites.

PF/C Sandro Mamukelashvili, SAS | DK: $3.7k, FD: $4.7k | vs. CLE

As mentioned, the Spurs are going to be healthier than they were on Wednesday heading into tonight’s matchup, but Jeremy Sochan (back) will still be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. That makes Sandro Mamukelashvili a candidate to pick up some additional minutes off of the bench. Mamukelashvili is a bit volatile but, when given around 20 minutes, he is capable of massively paying off these DFS prices. He has averaged 1.26 FPPM L20Games and had a productive game on Wednesday, posting a 16-point/10-rebound double-double in just 23 minutes off the bench.

Other Forwards to Consider

SF/PF Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. PHX (Preferred if J. Brown is out)

SF/PF Deni Avdija, POR at CHI (Beware of his often poor performances on back-to-backs)

PF/C Evan Mobley, CLE at SAS

SF DeMar DeRozan, SAC at CHA

PF/C Kyle Filipowski, UTA at IND

SF/PF Ausar Thompson, DET at TOR

PF/C Jabari Smith Jr., HOU vs. OKC

SF/SG Tim Hardaway Jr., DET at TOR (Preferred if Cunningham is out again)

PF/C Obi Toppin, IND vs. UTA (Preferred if Siakam is out)

SF/SG Julian Champagnie, SAS vs. CLE

SF/PF De’Andre Hunter, CLE at SAS

PF/C Jonathan Mogbo, TOR vs. DET

SF/PF Harrison Barnes, SAS vs. CLE

SF/PF Jarace Walker, IND vs. UTA

FanDuel Main Slate Only

SF/PF LeBron James, LAL vs. NOP

SF/PF Kawhi Leonard, LAC vs. DAL

Centers to Consider 🏀

C Myles Turner, IND | DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.9k | vs. UTA

Turner should face little competition against the depleted Jazz interior that has allowed the 4th most FPPG to starting centers L20Games. Turner’s only two down games recently came in limited minutes during a 53-point blowout over the Wizards and a game where he played just 20 minutes versus OKC before getting injured. Otherwise, he has been rock-solid and he may be more involved tonight if any of those “questionable” Pacers are eventually ruled out, specifically if Pascal Siakam is unable to suit up.

C Donovan Clingan, POR | DK: $5.8k, FD: $5.7k | at CHI

Somewhat of a dice roll here as Clingan has had some less-than-ideal results in recent weeks but he also brings a high ceiling to lineups at a sub-$6k price point. Portland is still missing some bodies in their front court so Clingan should get up to around 30 minutes tonight and the Bulls have ranked 29th versus centers this season.

Other Centers to Consider

C Domantas Sabonis, SAC at CHA (Currently questionable)

C Nikola Vucevic, CHI vs. POR

C Jalen Duren, DET at TOR

C Jarrett Allen, CLE at SAS

C Jonas Valanciunas, SAC at CHA (Only if Sabonis is out)

C Paul Reed, DET at TOR

C Bismack Biyombo, SAS vs. CLE

FanDuel Main Slate Only

C Nikola Jokic, DEN at GSW

C Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. DAL

C Daniel Gafford, DAL at LAC (Preferred if A. Davis is out)
