We made it to Day #2. Don't forget about NHL also going down tonight!
Guards
CJ McCollum, POR [vs NO] (DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.8k)
The Pelicans defense versus shooting guards has been soft to open the season, they allowed both Caldwell-Pope and Klay Thompson to exceed 30 fantasy points. McCollum has seen 32+ mins in both of the games this year, and this game is slated to be a close contest and one of the higher scoring of the evening.
D'Angelo Russell, BKN [@ORL] (DK: $7.8k, $7.8k)
Russell's price is still adapting to his role on his new team. He's expected to be "the guy" for the Nets, and should see his usage going up as he gains confidence in this offense. Without Payton on the other side, Russell is going to match up against backups Augustin and Mack, which bodes well for his chances tonight. This game is slated as the highest scoring of the slate by Vegas, with a 229 over under, nearly 10 points higher than any other game tonight as well.
Shelvin Mack, ORL [vs BKN] (DK: $3k, FD: $3.7k)
Elfrid Payton remains out of the lineup for the second straight game. D.J. Augustin should get the start again, and Mack will get the reserve role again, where he saw over 20 minutes last game, and is looking at at least 20 minutes again tonight. He's at near minimum pricing and has a nice matchup against the Nets, who have allowed PG backups to eclipse 22 FP each game this season.
Forwards
Anthony Davis, NO [@POR] (DK: $10.9k, FD: $12.2k)
Last year, he averaged close to 60 points a game when facing Portland last year. He's been playing close to 40 minutes per game so far, and there isn't much reason to see that changing tonight, in what should be a close matchup against high scoring teams. He's a better option on DraftKings where he's quite a bit less expensive than FanDuel.
Tim Hardaway Jr, NY [@BOS] (DK: $5k, FD: $4.7k)
Hardaway has just been awful this year, there is no doubt about it, but tonight could be his chance to rebound. His price has fallen making him an appealing high upside guy for a bargain bottom price. Lebron James, Kris Middleton, and J.J. Redick all exceeded their personal fantasy averages when facing Boston this season. Boston lost Gordon Hayward earlier this season, and starting small forward Jaylen Brown hasn't exactly been shutting guys down.
Taj Gibson, MIN [vs IND] (DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.8k)
Gibson has been averaging 29 minutes a game so far this season for his new Minnesota team, he was only seeing around 21 a game last year. Facing the Pacers who allowed fellow power forwards James Johnson and Al-Farouq Aminu to eclipse 40 fantasy points in contests this year.
Centers
Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN [vs IND] (DK: $8.6k, FD: $10.1k]
The Pacers are going to be without Myles Turner tonight, which means another Sabonis start. There is a blowout possibility here, but if the game stays close Towns will be looking at 35+ mins of action, in what is the slated to be the 2nd highest scoring contest of the night. He's much more appealing with his DraftKings salary, but has the ceiling to be played everywhere.
Domantas Sabonis, IND [@MIN] (DK: $4.6k, FD: $4.8k)
Sabonis continues to see the starting job while Myles Turner remains out, and his salary hasn't caught up to what it should be yet with this role. He'll be facing Towns who is not known for this defense, and nothing appears to have changed this season as he's allowed opposing Centers to average 35 fantasy points a game thus far.
Aron Baynes, BOS [vs NY] (DK: $3.4k, FD: $3.6k)
Aron Baynes could see the starting lineup again today, if Marcus Smart were to miss another game. He would be in line for a nice matchup versus the Knicks who are ranked 27 out of 30 against starting Centers over the last 20 games. Boston doesn't seem to want to play him for too long, but he scores a lot of fantasy points per minute, so if he can even get 15 minutes he could be worth it, if they stretch him out to 20 minutes, he could be a must play.
