Top NBA Plays 11/11 | We Salute You

First off, salute to all those who have or are serving in the military as we celebrate this Veteran's Day Monday. It would be nice if the NBA was like the MLB and gave us some day hoops today. It would be a great way to ease out of the football weekend hangover and a nice excuse to take the day off work - banks, schools, and the post office are closed anyways.

At least there are 6 games on tap for tonight and they look like some nice ones for DFS purposes with half the slate having a total of 220 or higher. Let us storm the beaches of usage and call out a Whiskey Tango Value as we see what's in store for this one:

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Six pack of games on tap for tonight.

Easily the best game to target for tonight is the Rockets visiting the Pelicans where the betting total is a whopping 242. This is 2 of the top 4 teams in pace and New Orleans is the 2nd worst in defensive efficiency. James Harden ($11,500) is the highest priced player on the slate after going for 74+ fp in three straight.

It's a night of potential 2019 debuts - one nearly certain and one a big maybe. The almost sure thing is Blake Griffin ($7200) practicing Sunday and a likely suiter-upper for Monday as the Pistons host Minnesota. This could also be an interesting DFS game for Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,000) who logged 41 minutes in an OT loss to Denver last night.

The player with a more realistic chance at debuting later in the week, but a "possibility" for tonight is Paul George ($8,200). The Clippers host the Raptors tonight with a total of 223 even though both these teams are in the top half in defensive efficiency. Kawhi Leonard ($9400) is in a ๐ŸšจREVENGE GAME ๐Ÿšจ (but not really) against his old teammates and Toronto begins life without Kyle Lowery after fracturing his left thumb over the weekend.

Another game with a seemingly too high betting over/under is Memphis visiting San Antonio with a total of 224.5. It could still be a good game to target, especially as 20-year-old Ja Morant ($8500) returns from taking Saturday night's game off for...rest?

Wow, was Kyle Lowery the entire Raptors offense?

Guards

Dejounte Murray (DK: $6,000 FD: $6700 Y! $23)

Dejounte Murray's favorite part of an engine is the alternator because he's been going back and forth between value fantasy nights. It makes sense, Murray is still in recovery for a torn ACL so he will ball out one game, then kind of maintain the next. The proof is in the pudding though with fantasy nights of 44, 14, 45, and 19 over his last four. That means big production is scheduled for tonight, especially when the Spurs play the Grizzlies' 5th worst defensive efficiency combined with Memphis' 6th highest pace. The Griz' gave up 138 to Dallas on Saturday.

An 'up' night should be on tap for the up-and-down Murray

Alec Burks (DK: $5200 FD: $5600 Y! $14)

On paper, the matchup isn't the best as Utah has the best defense in the league but the price is great for Alec Burks...not to mention ๐ŸšจRevenge Game ๐Ÿšจ. Burks spent 2011 to 2018 with the Jazz before they sent him to Cleveland for Kyle Korver. To quote Joakim Noah, "Nobody goes to Cleveland for a vacation." Burks has three straight games of 30+ minutes and has a 17 and an 18 field goal attempt night over that span. Eric Paschall is likely back in the lineup tonight after a hip bruise allowed Burks to move into the starting lineup Saturday. Burks has earned playing time - and shots - with his last three games though, especially against an old team.

How does Burks not see at least 30 minutes of court time with this Warriors roster?

Kemba Walker (DK: $8900 FD: $9000 Y! $38)

There's a lot to like about Kemba Walker tonight. First off, he has 19 or more field goal attempts in 5 of the last 7 games. That should continue - or even increase - as Boston plays without Gordon Hayward and his 13.8 field goal attempts per game after he broke his left hand over the weekend. Walker also has a matchup with Luka Doncic, the Mavs G who served up a 43 point fantasy night to Frank Ntilikina on Friday night.

Walker's already solid fantasy production gets an even bigger boost with Hayward out for Boston.

๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘ Other Likes  / Dislikes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Fred VanVleet ($6900) has great value with Kyle Lowery out of the lineup (18 fga, 10 assists yesterday) but is on leg two of a back-to-back against a decent Clippers defense. Donovan Mitchell only has one ceiling game over the last 8, but is up against a Warriors squad that has given up a 74 point fantasy night to James Harden and a 64 to Andrew Wiggins at the SG position over the last week.

Forwards

Danuel House (DK: $5,300 FD: $5,500 Y!: $16)

There's good value on Danuel House in a high scoring game tonight vs. the Pelicans (O/U 243). House seems to be fine after spraining his ankle Saturday vs. the Bulls and is not expected to miss any time. House was able to get a 32 point fantasy night Saturday vs. Chicago despite going just 3-5 from the field. House is shooting 45.8% from three point range which will be key against a Pelicans squad that is 20th in opponents 3-point percentage. There are a lot of mouths to feed on the Rockets tonight - but it's also going to be a buffet vs. New Orleans' defense.

It's crazy when the Rockets actually get a pace INCREASE in a game.

Chris Boucher (DK: $3,400 FD: $4,100 Y!: $10)

One of the most talked about players on tonight's slate -for probably the first time in his life - is Chris Boucher. The Raptors PF/C is in a great spot tonight as both Kyle Lowery, but more importantly Serge Ibaka are out of the lineup for the Raptors. In his first extended minutes of the season yesterday, Boucher was 7-11 from the field and had 3 blocks. If his rebounding numbers can improve (only 2 last night) Boucher is looking like a steal at $3,400. The B2B shouldn't hurt him, as Boucher was averaging under 5 minutes per game prior to the last two.

Nice boost for Boucher with no Ibaka or Lowery.

Brandon Ingram (DK: $7800 FD: $8800 Y! $39)

Not a bad price point for Brandon Ingram tonight, as he has been as high as $9.4k this year. Somebody has to score for New Orleans to get the total for this game into the 240s as the Pelicans have 119 implied team points. Ingram had 24 and 25 field goal attempts before the back-to-back on Saturday night and he still shot 8-12 with 9 rebounds in that contest vs. the Hornets. Houston is 4th in pace and 10th worst in defensive efficiency and gave up a 39 point fantasy night to Duncan Robinson at the SF position a few games ago.

Ingram likes the matchup with the Houston defense

๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Other Likes / Dislikes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Obviously Kawhi Leonard ($9400) isn't a bad player to build around, as he's up against his old 'mates from Toronto - a Raptors team on 0 days rest to boot. There's supposed to be a solid amount of points in the Grizzlies / Spurs game (O/U 224) and DeMar DeRozan's ($7000) salary is down $2200. Anybody taking a flier on Blake Griffin ($7200) in his first game of the year and with a likely minute restriction?

Center

Clint Capela (DK: $7,300, FD; $8300 Y!:$30 )

There's something to love and hate about nearly all the C's on tonight's card. It is hard to find a negative on Houston's Clint Capela though. His production has been great lately with back-to-back 50+ fantasy nights. The minutes were 36 and 42 the last two with field goal attempts of 14 and 10 with an 18 rebound per game average. No sense to predict a downfall when the Rockets play New Orleans' 2nd to last ranked defensive efficiency in an up-paced game. The Pelicans have been good against the C lately, but they've also faced an (acquitted) Murderer's Row of Nerlens Noel, Jarrett Allen, Marc Gasol, and Cody Zeller over the last four.

Capela has had some nice upside games lately

The New Orleans front court may be lulled to sleep with the quality of big men they've faced as of late.

๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘ Other Likes / Dislikes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,000) logged 41:12 of court time in an OT loss last night and rebounds will be at a premium vs. Andre Drummond ($9800) and the Pistons tonight. Even Drummond may see a dip in his board stats, not just because of a matchup with KAT, but also because Blake Griffin should see some minutes for the first time this season. One of the only other options at the C position tonight is Kristaps Porzingis ($7200) who has a tough matchup against the Celtics and a front court that is getting healthier (despite the loss of Hayward).

A modest 6-gamer tonight but that jumps up to an 8-game slate for Tuesday. Make sure to check out that LineStar chat tonight for some valuable insight and angles from fellow DFS aficionados.
