Top NBA Plays 11/13 | The Cornucopia Continues
The NBA is getting us ready for the indulgence of the Thanksgiving season in a couple weeks with another plump slate scheduled for tonight. It's a 7-gamer, and there will have been 21 games played after this evening. Of course that means a few teams are starting to get road weary and being almost a month into the season the injuries are starting to mount. Let's break down who's in, who's out, who's good, and who's bad for tonight's card.
Tonight's DFS Headlines
The Lakers are on the back leg of a back-to-back tonight and could be without Anthony Davis ($9400) who injured his ribs in last night's game. LeBron James ($10,700) logged 37 minutes in the win over Phoenix so the Lakers are looking a bit thin in what would be a great matchup vs. Golden State.
Portland is also on the back-to-back hosting Toronto and it's starting to get concerning / impressive the amount of minutes Damian Lillard ($9200) and CJ McCollum ($6300) are playing. The duo both logged 36+ last night vs. Sacramento, but also had 40 and 39 respectively on 0 days rest last Friday.
It's not the most glamorous game on the slate, but Memphis at Charlotte could produce some nice DFS numbers. Both teams rank in the bottom 8 in defensive efficiency and the Grizzlies are a top 5 pace team. Could two bottom 4 offensive efficiency teams actually put up some stats here? Ownership has to be looking good (low).
The Rockets are battling some injuries (Danuel House, Eric Gordon) which all but assures a huge night for James Harden ($11,700) and/or Russ Westbrook ($8900) vs. the Clippers. Then again, as LineStar users have pointed out this could be a ๐ทHANGOVER GAME ๐ทas yesterday was Westbrook's birthday. Either way, this tilt has a nice total of 230.5 and Paul George ($8200) could be making his LAC debut.
Guards
D'Angelo Russell (DK: $8,100 FD: $9200 Y! $37)
D'Angelo Russell's price is actually down tonight (in DraftKings anyways) which is great in a ๐จREVENGE GAME๐จ vs. the Lakers at Staples Center. Los Angeles is on a back-to-back and Russell averaged 21.5 points and 13 assists against his former team a year ago. The Warriors PG has other-wordly field goal attempts of 25, 19, and 37 (!) over the last three, which should continue tonight.
Alec Burks (DK: $5500 FD: $5500 Y! $14)
It's looking like a good Golden State stack vs. a Lakers team that was in a very fast paced 123-115 win over the Suns last night. The "revenge game" didn't work out so hot for Alec Burks on Monday, as he went just 2-5 in 19 minutes vs. his old squad the Jazz. Burks had been rolling before that though with three straight 34+ fantasy point nights including 47 on 18 shots last Wednesday vs. Houston. The return of Eric Paschall may have hurt Burks' production last game, but that should be offset tonight as Golden State suffered yet another injury with Damion Lee going down. Burks is also on the road tonight, where his field goal percentage goes up (40 to 53.3) as do points per game (8.0 to 23).
Devonte Graham (DK: $6900 FD: $7200 Y! $22)
Dwayne Bacon is the starter at SG for Charlotte but it's almost just a ceremonious title like assistant (to the) regional manager. It's becoming more and more Devonte Graham's time to shine, as evidenced by Bacon playing 16 minutes last game compared to 33 for the former Kansas Jayhawk. Graham's price has climbed $1.5k in the last week, but he's gone for at least 38 fantasy points in four straight with two 50+ games mixed in there. Graham has 9+ assists in three consecutive games, and has taken at least 14 shots in four in a row. He gets an uptick vs. Memphis' #6 pace to go with their 26th ranked defensive efficiency. Yes, please.

Andrew Wiggins ($7900) has gone for 50+ fp in 2 of the last 3 but may see a big dip if Jeff Teague ($4,600) returns to take over PG duties for Minnesota. Fred VanVleet shot just 6 for 20 last game, but he was on the second leg of a back-to-back. Look for a big night for FVV with Kyle Lowery out and playing a Portland team on 0 days rest and logging a ton of minutes in the back court.
Forwards
Al Horford (DK: $5,900 FD: $7,200 Y!: $28)
Philadelphia is on a back-to-back, but not Al Horford who sat out the 76ers one point win over the Cavs last night. It's not the best matchup against Orlando's top 4 defensive efficiency team and slowest pace but Joel Embiid played 35 minutes last night and Ben Simmons 34 in his first game back from injury. One or both of those players could be limited tonight, which gives Horford nearly a 16 point fantasy point boost.
Jaren Jackson, Jr. (DK: $4,800 FD: $7,000 Y!: $21)
OK, Jaren Jackson, Jr. is up against a mediocre front court of Cody Zeller and P.J. Washington tonight, which should be good for keeping the Memphis F out of foul trouble. It's amazing what Jackson can do when he does stay on the court, shooting 10-17 in 38 minutes with just 2 fouls for a 44 point fantasy night on Monday. That was in a slower pace vs. San Antonio and Charlotte averages even fewer possessions per game than the Spurs. Jackson's production increases 70% in down pace contests, probably because he doesn't commit dumb fast break fouls.
Kyle Kuzma (DK: $4100 FD: $5000 Y! $19)
Black Friday is coming up and how fitting is it that Kyle Kuzma is just $4,100 for tonight's slate? There's potentially no Anthony Davis (ribs) for the Lakers who are up against the Warriors, the absolutely last place team in defensive efficiency. Kuzma seems to be getting more and more confident by the game as he was a season-best 9 for 16 last night vs. the Suns. Kuzma played just 25 minutes in that game so he should be ready for a full load tonight, especially with LeBron James logging 37 minutes on Tuesday vs. the Suns. Kuzma could get blowout minutes off the bench as well with the Lakers 12 point favorites here.

Montrezl Harrell's ($7,700) salary is up $1,300 but right at the time Paul George could be returning and dipping into his production. Chris Boucher $4300) still has some value even though his price is on the rise, that's mostly true because the Raptors play a Portland team on 0 days rest tonight.
Center
Clint Capela (DK: $7,400, FD; $9000 Y!:$30 )
Clint Capela has a nice matchup vs. the Clippers tonight. LA allowed back-to-back 40+ point games to Brook Lopez and Hassan Whiteside in the past week, giving up a total of 30 rebounds to those two centers. Capela has grabbed 20+ boards in two straight and has logged 36+ minutes in three in a row. The Rockets are without Danuel House and Eric Gordon tonight which should make Capela a more integral part of the Rockets offense. The Houston center had a 45 point fantasy night on Monday while taking only 6 shots.

Joel Embiid ($9,100) logged 35 minutes last night vs. the Cavs and is still very cautious in the back-to-back. Anthony Davis ($9,400) played through a 1st quarter rib injury last night, but is also in the B2B and ended up logging 37 minutes Tuesday. Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,300) is looking like the clear-cut big man to spend on tonight.
With so many games this week, a short Thursday slate could be expected. But no, there are 6 more on tap for tomorrow, which is awesome.
