Guards
Lonzo Ball, LAL [@PHO] (DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.6k)
It wouldn't be a Monday without targeting the Phoenix Suns who are ranked dead last against starting point guards, giving up 45 FPPG. Lonzo's 2nd best game came earlier in the season against the Suns, where he dropped 60 fantasy points. The odds are against him doing this 2 games in a row, but it's hard to pass on this matchup when it's only a 1.5 point spread, and Vegas has this as the 2nd highest scoring game of the night at 227.
Ricky Rubio, UTA [vs MIN] (DK: $7.1k, FD: $7.5k)
With Gobert sidelined, a huge amount of minutes and usage are up for grabs. Ricky is no doubt going to need to pickup some of that usage. The Jazz played the Timberwolves once earlier this season and Rubio performed well, putting up 44 fantasy points. Minnesota is ranked 20th versus starting point guards, allowing 36 fantasy points a game. It's not the best matchup Rubio will see, but in a close game, we'll expect Rubio to step up tonight without Gobert on the floor.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL [@PHO] (DK: $4.5k, FD: $4.7k)
He's been seeing close to 35 minutes per game in November and has a prime matchup tonight versus the Suns who are ranked 27th against starting shooting guards. Caldwell-Pope had 2 monster games against the Suns last season while he was on the Pistons. The script is setup for a good game here for him tonight; good history, close matchup, high scoring, low salary and he's seeing a ton of minutes.
Forwards
Kristaps Porzingis, NY [vs CLE] (DK: $9.6k, FD: $9.6k)
This is slated to be the 3rd highest over/under total for the night, and Cavs being favored by 5. Porzingis has played well in high scoring games in the past, and the Knicks are going to need to ride him hard if they want a shot at a win tonight. In their matchup last month, Porzingis dropped 54 fantasy points with 12 rebounds, and with the current setup could easily repeat those numbers and still has the upside for a bigger game.
Derrick Favors, UTA [vs MIN] (DK: $4.6k FD: $5.4k)
Rudy Gobert will miss the next 4-6 weeks, in the first game out, Derrick Favors had a much increased role. He played for 36 minutes, and put up a season best 46 fantasy points. It was a better matchup against the Nets, so it should not be expected that he repeat that performance against the Timberwolves tonight. However, he should still be in line for increased minutes and usage, and at this price should remain a bargain for a while longer.
Marquese Chriss, PHO [vs LAL] (DK: $4k, FD: $4.3k)
With Jared Dudley sidelined, Marquese Chriss should get back to over 20 minutes a game and see some increased role for the Suns. It's also a great matchup tonight against the Lakers, who are ranked 28th against starting power forwards, allowing 34 FPPG. As long as Chriss can get close to 25 minutes tonight he has a good chance to approach that 30 fantasy point mark which would make him an extreme bargain at this salary.
Centers
Nikola Jokic, DEN [@POR] (DK: $8.4k, FD: $9.4k)
It's hard not to like the Joker in what is slated to be an extremely close game against Portland where Denver is only favored by a single point. As long as Jokic is on the court for 30+ minutes, he's one of the safer options at center to deliver 50 fantasy points tonight.
DeAndre Jordan, LAC [vs PHI] (DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.2k)
It doesn't get more up-pace for the Clippers than facing the 76ers and DeAndre Jordan has grabbed an insane 20 or more rebounds in each of the last 3 games against the 76ers. Vegas has this game as another great one to target with a 217 point over/under and only a 2 point spread in favor of the Clippers. However, one wrinkle here, Embiid and Jordan haven't faced each other yet, which likely means Jordan won't be seeing 20 rebounds tonight.
Marcin Gortat, WAS [vs SAC] (DK: $5.2k, FD: $4.9k)
He's extremely hard to be confident in tonight, after 3 miserable games in a row. Gortat expressed some extreme disappointment in his team and his own play before the last game, which did not seem to have any effect on the outcome. What might help tonight, is that they're facing the Kings and are 11 point favorites in this contest. The Kings are ranked dead last against starting centers, allowing 40 fantasy points per game over the last 20. You're certainly not going to feel great loading Gortat into your lineup, but he'll be lower owned after burning people 3 games in a row, and he's really cheap.
