Guards
Ben Simmons, PG [@LAL] (DK: $9.1k, FD: $9.8k)
Simmons has been a stud this year, and now he gets one of the juicer matchups of his season against the Lakers who are 24th against starting point guards, giving up 37 fantasy points a game. Most of the Lakers games have had blowout risk, but Vegas has only a 3.5 point spread in favor of the 76ers here tonight. Simmons should see his full minute allotment with this game staying competitive, and Ball won't slow him down.
Kemba Walker, CHA [vs CLE] (DK: $7.4k, FD: $7.8k)
Kemba has a lot going for him tonight, this game is one of the highest over/unders on the slate and Cleveland is only a 2 point favorite. The Cleveland defense has been giving up a lot of points all year, ranked 27th against starting point guards allowing 38 fantasy points a game. Kemba typically plays better at home as well, and his salary for tonight is below his average for the year.
George Hill, SAC [@ATL] (DK: $3.9k, FD: $3.8k)
Hill has been having a miserable year but turned it around this last game against the Wizards. It's really the salary that makes this play tonight, as Hill doesn't have huge upside but he's near the salary minimum. He should see around 25 minutes of action tonight against the Hawks who are ranked 29th against starting point guards allowing 42 fantasy points a game. Vegas has this as one of the lower scoring games, but it still has a relatively tight margin of 4.5 points. Last year on the Jazz, Hill had 2 great games versus the Kings and Hill was signed to this 57 million dollar contract, they'll want to get him going again.
Forwards
Robert Covington, PHI [@LAL] (DK: $6.3k, FD: $6.8k)
Covington has been seeing 36 minutes per game over the last 5 games, and scoring over a fantasy point per minute. The Lakers are 26th versus starting power forwards, and with this game having the highest point total on the night with a tight spread, makes for a great target to grab multiple players. Covington's salary is priced just right, with a pretty safe floor for 30 fantasy points, with a 40ish ceiling that fits into the always difficult to fit small forward slot.
Lauri Markkanen, CHI [@OKC] (DK: $6k, FD: $5.8k)
Markkanen is probable to play Wednesday, dealing with a minor ankle sprain. The Thunder have been abused by power forwards over the last 4 games, and are ranked 18th against them over the lsat 20 games, allowing 30 fantasy points per game. Carmelo Anthony is questionable to suit up tonight, possibly leaving Jerami Grant on Markkanen. Markkanen has exceeded expectations this season, and his salary has fallen a bit because of sustaining the ankle injury last game and playing limited minutes.
Taj Gibson, MIN [vs SA] (DK: $4.9k, FD: $4.8k)
With Dieng doubtful to play tonight, Gibson should more minutes and increased usage again tonight. The Spurs are on the 2nd game of a back to back, and some of the starters could potentially be a little more limited tonight. It's a slight pace hit when playing the Spurs, but they are only ranked 21st against starting power forwards, allowing 31 fantasy points a game. At this salary, Gibson provides a nice ceiling with a pretty safe floor tonight.
Centers
Joel Embiid, PHI [@LAL] (DK: $8.6k, FD: $9.7k)
It's hard to find a reason not to like Embiid tonight in the highest scoring game of the night. He just saw 36 minutes against the Clippers and looked like a veteran out there on the court. The team seems more willing to raise his minute cap over the past few games, and if the team truly removed the cap he would be one of the higher salaries on the slate.
Marc Gasol, MEM [vs IND] (DK: $7.5k, FD: $7.5k)
Gasol makes a better cash game play than a tournament play, he's one of the safest center options of the night. Locked in a close matchup with the Pacers, who are ranked 19th versus starting centers, allowing 31 fantasy points a game. Gasol should be a lock for his normal workload, and fantasy total of 33-40 points tonight which isn't bad on a night with so many questions at center; Cousins in a tough matchup, Embiid's minutes always a question, Towns with a tough matchup, Drummond's high salary.
Dewayne Dedmon, ATL [vs SAC] (DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.4k)
The Kings have allowed 4 centers into the perfect lineup over the last 20 games, and are ranked dead last against them allowing 39 fantasy points a game. The problem here is Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins are both heavily splitting time, so either of them has the chance to go off in this matchup. Dedmon has been stuck with several difficult matchups in a row, and will likely be low owned, making him a decent target tonight.
