Top NBA Plays 11/22 | Ben Simmons Hit a 3: What's Next?

In case you hadn't heard, Ben Simmons hit the first three pointer of his career on Wednesday, breaking a 171 game drought to start his NBA life. Unfortunately, DraftKings and FanDuel haven't incorporated 'super props' (yet) where a player gets like a 15 point bonus for doing something unheard of. In the spirit of the 'Super Prop' ® and in honor of tonight's 10-game card to close out the week, here are some miracles it would be nice to see show up on this docket:

  • Nikola Jokic winks to his new friend Jillian Michaels in the front row at the (Diet) Pepsi Center en route to a 39/16/12 night vs. the Celtics. "Body by Joker" is advertised soon after.

  • Sacramento fires Luke Walton before the game at Brooklyn and hires Lon Kruger who was Buddy Hield's coach at Oklahoma. Hield simultaneously just gets the email that De'Aaron Fox has been out of the Kings lineup the last 4 games and scores 60 on 36 shots.

  • Capital One Arena gets inadvertently double-booked and it's the Washington Generals against the Charlotte Hornets instead of the Washington Wizards. It ends up being a basketball team from Washington's best defensive outing of the year so far as Charlotte 'only' scores 137.

  • Adult film star Teanna Trump catches a ride with the Lakers out of L.A. to try to pick the Thunder player that owes her money out of a lineup. Even with a media guide, the LineStar app, and a little brother obsessed with NBA2K, she only knows Chris Paul and "the long haired bearded guy" so 'not Dennis Schroder at all' completely goes free.

On second thought, maybe we'll just stick to some plays with less volatility in the 10-card slate for Friday November 22nd:

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Ben Simmons might actually go all Craig Hodges on us and hit another 3-pointer tonight considering it's a Spurs @ Sixers matchup. San Antonio ranks 21st defensively vs. the PG spot.

Are we going to see a Lemming Game from Luka Doncic where he completely falls off the cliff? Doncic has 75+ fantasy points in 3 of the last 4 games.

Jimmy Butler just comes off as an overall ornery / aloof dude so you don't know if he's in a 🚨Revenge Game🚨 or not for the Heat @ Bulls matchup. Chicago should show him love tonight as they did with Derrick Rose on Wednesday - but that doesn't mean Butler will reciprocate.

You gotta get some Hornets exposure vs. the Wizards defense that has given up 125+ in 3 of the last 4...but who?

That white stuff in the big lake isn't SALT because tonight the Warriors @ Jazz game is being held in CHALK Lake City. Golden State just got torched for 142 by Dallas, but before you load up on Jazz players - was that last game just an anomaly for GSW? The Warriors allowed 108 or fewer in three games prior.

Guards

Devonte' Graham $6.9k | $7.4k

Gotta attack the Wizards defense, or lack thereof, in tonight's slate. Maybe that means Devonte Graham will hit some of his shots because getting them hasn't been the problem. Graham has 15+ attempts in 5 of the last 6 games. He's only gone for 40+ fantasy points in one of those outings though. This is kind of a last chance (for awhile) for Graham, as Bryn Forbes and Evan Fournier have both put up 40+ in the last two games against the Wizards #30 team vs. the SG.

A Golden Graham night is possible against the Wizards

Lou Williams $6.6k | $6.9k

Tonight is a true test of whether the presence of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the same court hurt - or help - role players like Lou Williams. He only had 12 field goal attempts last game but that was in a low paced 90-88 win over OKC. The Clippers are expected to be in a much higher scoring affair tonight vs. Houston who has a top 5 pace in the league.

Can Williams hit ceiling with both George and Leonard in the LAC lineup?

Jimmy Butler $8.3k | $9.7k

Jimmy Butler shot just 3-16 from the field on Wednesday but still ended up with a 46 point fantasy night. Butler revisits the United Center tonight against a decent Bulls defense (12th in efficiency), but one that gave up a 33.75 fp night to Dante DiVencenzo two games ago. Butler has 20 made FTs in the last two games and was dishing the rock with 13 assists 6 days ago against the Pelicans.

Despite his lofty price, Luka Doncic is still getting near 7X value and is pushing an 80 point night soon. With so many big names on the schedule, Donovan Mitchell might fly under the radar a bit and he has a great matchup with Golden State's back court tonight.

Forwards

Dorian Finney-Smith $4.3k | $4.1k

Luka Doncic is getting LeBron-like coverage from the media and it's time for some role players on the Mavs to start getting some trickle-down fantasy numbers. Dorian Finney-Smith is a great candidate tonight vs. the Cavs, who have been exploited by opposing SFs as of late. The big 'Duncan Robinson Game' came against Cleveland, who has seen their defensive efficiency dip to the bottom 1/3 in the league. Gotta go with the guy who has D.F.S as his initials every now and then.

DFS night for DFS

Harrison Barnes $5.9k | $5.5k

Could we see a breakout game from Harrison Barnes tonight as Sacramento visits Brooklyn's #3 pace in the league? Bogdan Bogdanovic had been tearing it up for Sacramento, with two 50+ fp nights over his last four. But he's a game time decision tonight with a hamstring injuries. With injuries already to Marvin Bagley and De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento is running out of guys to run their offense through. Barnes' production does increase 18% with 2+ days off.

The Kings have a nice pace uptick tonight. Memories of last year's Kings squad for sure.

De'Andre Hunter $4.9k | $5.1k

Worth a shot to go back to the De'Andre Hunter well, as the rookie had a breakout game Wednesday going 8-12 with 11 rebounds. Granted, that was in a much higher paced game against Milwaukee (127-135 L) but you could see Hunter getting the thirst for blood after that outing. If he can produce, he's a great GPP option because pretty much every factor is working against him including negative pace, Detroit allowing 21 fp to SF starters, and Atlanta being on the first end of a B2B.

DeMar DeRozan has a 45 and a 54 point fantasy night the last two and is up against a Sixers team that has allowed 50 burgers to Marcus Morris and Aaron Gordon over the last 4 games.

Center

Clint Capela $7.7k | $9.1k

There's not a ball that comes off the rim that Clint Capela doesn't think he can grab right now. Even after missing two games with a concussion, Capela returned to have 20 and 21 boards - his 5th straight of 20 or more. One of those games came against the Clippers on November 13th. LAC just allowed a 50+ point game to Derrick Favors on November 14th, so they can be exploited in the middle.

It might be a night for Zell's Bells Cody Zeller to shine. The Hornets are up against a Washington squad that has allowed three 50+ games over their last 5 to the C position.
