Guards
Kyrie Irving, BOS [vs NO] (DK: $8.5k, FD: $8.2k)
The Pelicans are ranked 29th versus starting point guards allowing 37 fantasy points a game. Kyrie should be able to take advantage of Rajon Rondo who has one of the worst defensive ratings in the NBA, as well as seeing a significant pace increase. This game has a fairly high 214 point total with Boston favored by only 4.5 points. Irving's ceiling is right around 50 fantasy points, which won't get the job done in tournaments most nights, but this is a small slate with limited options at point guard tonight.
Jeff Teague, MIN [@ORL] (DK: $6.4k, FD: $6.9k)
The Orlando Magic are ranked 27th against starting point guards allowing 37 fantasy points a game. Teague has a solid history against the Magic, averaging 37 fantasy points over the last 5 games and dropped a 50 fantasy point bomb against them in late November. The Timberwolves are becoming a bit like Golden State with the amount of weapons they have clicking on their team making it hard to find value when they're all healthy.
Jamal Murray, DEN [vs DAL] (DK: $5.7k, FD: $6.7k)
He laid an absolute dud last game against the Spurs on the road but should be all set to bounce back with the Denver home court advantage against the Mavericks tonight. Dallas is ranked 25th against starting point guards allowing 37 fantasy points a game. They've allowed Kemba and Kris Dunn to eclipse 55 fantasy points over their last 5 games. Murray is getting a nice price discount on DraftKings tonight and could be lower owned due to his big dud.
Forwards
Josh Jackson, PHO [@POR] (DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.2k)
Chriss is doubtful, Danuel House is out and T.J. Warren is a game time decision tonight. House being out at least means an extra 10 minutes of backup time for Josh Jackson tonight. If Warren were to miss this game, Josh Jackson would have a big role. It's the late game so we likely won't know for sure before the main slate locks. If you want to take a chance Jackson has a high ceiling tonight if Warren is out but even if he's not he should get enough minutes to not kill you. NOTE: He's currently questionable so keep an eye out for updates.
Al-Farouq Aminu, POR [vs PHO] (DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.5k)
Aminu will likely get to match up versus Bender who is ranked in the bottom quarter of the league in defensive rating. He's put up at least 25 fantasy points in both games against the Suns this year. This game has a point total of 217.5 but with Portland being favored by 10 points means a blowout is a definite possibility. The Suns will be playing a lot of young inexperienced guys and these games don't always follow Vegas, if they can get their shots to drop early the Suns could keep this close.
Dragan Bender, PHO [@POR] (DK: $4.6k, FD: $4.8k)
Marquese Chriss is doubtful to play tonight so it looks like another start for Dragan Bender who by his name sounds like he should be in Star Wars instead of the NBA. He should see around 30 minutes and as long as he doesn't miss all of his shots again like last game, should be able to provide value on this small salary tonight.
Centers
Nikola Jokic, DEN [vs DAL] (DK: $8.7k, FD: $9.7k)
Dallas is ranked 6th against starting centers but they're worse on the road and playing in Denver is about as hard as it gets while on the road. Nikola Jokic has been a roller coaster this season but he still does have a very high ceiling which makes him quite appealing in tournaments. Denver is only favored by 5.5 points here so Jokic should be heavily utilized in this close contest.
Bismack Biyombo, ORL [vs MIN] (DK: $5.6k, FD: $6.4k)
The Timberwolves are ranked 6th versus starting centers but are not playing as well on the road. Biyombo is more of a tournament play as his minutes are being shared with Marreese Speights who could also be considered a tournament play tonight. Biyombo is playing around 26 minutes per game and scoring almost 1.1 fantasy points per minute, as long as he gets close to 30 minutes tonight he can provide value.
Dwight Powell, DAL [@DEN] (DK: $3.6k, FD: $3.9k)
This play is a bit of a flier, but the Mavericks are on the road going to Denver which is one of the toughest NBA stadiums to play at. Dirk Nowitzki hasn't taken a game off this entire season and has to be getting tired legs this late in the season. He now he has to play on the road in the highest altitude stadium in the NBA. Dwight Powell could certainly be needed for extra minutes tonight and has a good history against Denver especially while playing in Denver.
