Guards
Justin Holiday, CHI [@CLE] (DK: $5.6k, FD: $4.9k)
Justin Holiday has played well versus the Cavs in 2 previous games this season, putting up 32 and 38 fantasy point efforts with over 30 minutes in both. The Cavs are favored by 11 in this game, but the Bulls have played them strong this year and will want to continue on their 7 game win streak. That 11 point lead virtually never happens for the Cavs until late in the 4th quarter, which allows for a high scoring affair on both sides of the ball until the very end.
Tony Parker, SA [@UTA] (DK: $4.3k, FD: $4.2k)
Tony Parker should return tonight to the starting lineup after a day of rest for the old man. He's only seeing around 20 minutes a game but has a nice matchup versus the Jazz who are ranked 28th against starting point guards. He has limited upside since he doesn't play enough minutes so only use him in a cash game if you're struggling to find salary to spend elsewhere (like LeBron).
Isaiah Canaan, PHO [vs MEM] (DK: $4.8k, FD: $3.7k)
This is mostly a FanDuel play due to the huge salary difference on DraftKings and FanDuel. Canaan went 0 for 9 to start the game last night and still logged 22 minutes despite his tragic shooting effort ending at 2 for 12. As long as he gets back out on the court he can surely do better than that tonight. He's playing for a contract and will need to put last nights game behind him to prove he belongs on the team.
Forwards
LeBron James, CLE [vs CHI] (DK: $11.9k, FD: $12.3k)
Lebron is the only true stud on this small slate, but at this salary it's going to be hard to fit him into a competitive lineup unless some value opens later today. That being said, there is the Westbrook rule; which says you gotta play the stud in a small slate. Being the only guy on a slate that could go for 80 fantasy points means if you don't have him and he goes off, you won't cash. I'm not calling him a lock by any means, just re-enforcing that he is playable even at this ginormous salary.
T.J. Warren, PHO [vs MEM] (DK: $6.1k, FD: $7.8k)
Since not much value has opened up on this slate yet, you have to find some guys with high ceilings and reasonable price tags for tournament options. The price tag makes a lot more sense on DraftKings as you get a guy that is able to put up 40 fantasy points for a bargain price of $6.1k. It's a decent matchup as the Grizzlies are ranked 22nd against starting small forwards allowing 30 fantasy points a game.
Serge Ibaka, TOR [@PHI] (DK: $5.9k, FD: $6.4k)
There is very little value to find on today's 5-game slate, so Ibaka will likely be the chalkiest of the chalk, which isn't always a bad thing. His minutes and usage has been trending upward over the last 5 games. He also has an excellent history versus the 76ers, putting up 36 fantasy points when he saw them earlier in the season. This game has the highest point total on the night at 217 points and only a small 3.5 point spread in favor of the Raptors, making this game one of the best to target tonight.
Centers
Al Horford, BOS [@NY] (DK: $7.2k, FD: $7.6k)
After fouling out last night in only 27 minutes, Horford may have the freshest legs of any of the Boston players on this back to back. This will mark the 6th game in 9 days for the Celtics so they're likely a bit tired at this point. Horford played well against a fully healthy Knicks team earlier in the season and gets a banged up Knicks team tonight. The Celtics defense is no joke though, as they rank 8th against starting power forwards over the last 20 games.
Jonas Valanciunas, TOR [@PHI] (DK: $5.4k, FD: $5.9k)
Valanciunas remains a tournament only player as his minutes are wildly unpredictable. However as of recently the coach has started to allow him to play a bit more. He's had 3 games of over 25+ minutes over the last 5 games, and prior to this stretch only had 2 all season. He only saw 16 minutes in last nights game but the Raptors pulled away from the Hornets very early in the game and kept a large lead throughout so he wasn't needed. There's a chance they were saving him for tonight's game, which as mentioned above makes for a very nice game to target because of the point totals. Embiid likely won't play in this contest, so he'll only have to worry about Amir Johnson and Richaun Holmes.
Greg Monroe, PHO [vs MEM] (DK: $4.7k, FD: $5.9k)
Welp... we tried this last night, and the same remains true tonight... ONLY PLAY HIM IF HE STARTS. The Suns are on the 2nd leg of a back to back and Chandler got the start last night. The suns have rested either Chandler or Monroe on each back to back previously so if Chandler rests tonight and Monroe gets the start, fire him up. The Grizzlies are ranked 2nd against starting centers but are on a back to back as well and Monroe hasn't played in a week, those fresh legs could make the difference. Again.. just make sure you read the warning on Monroe before using him.
