Top NBA Plays 1/23 | Restrict This

What a debut for Zion Williamson last night. The rookie had a ho-hum night heading into the final frame but then erupted with a 17 point 4th quarter. The only person to put out the 🔥Zion Fire🔥 was Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry, who benched the red hot #1 pick because he reached 18 minutes.

Minutes restrictions are one of the more frustrating things in NBA DFS (besides late scratches) because court time = 💰Money Time💰(unless you're Royce O'Neale). Oh well, part of the game I guess. Let's see who can get in the game - and stay there - on tonight's 3 game slate.

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Wizards @ Cavs

Strangely enough, this seems like the game to target tonight with a betting total of 231 and Washington coming in on a back-to-back. The Cavs have lost 3 of their last 5 games by 20+ points though, including a 106-86 beat down from the Knicks on Monday.

Lakers @ Nets

Speaking of minutes restrictions - is that what we see from Anthony Davis ($9.5k) tonight? Davis missed 5 gams with a sore rear end, and played 30 minutes last night vs. the Knicks. The Nets have lost four straight, allowing 117+ points in each.

Mavericks @ Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard ($9.9k) nearly had "The Wilt" with a 92fp night on Monday, taking 37 shots. The Portland guard will try for another big outing up against MVP front-runner Luka Doncic ($12.3k) and Dallas.

Guards

Collin Sexton DK $6.5k | FD $6k

Great pricing for Collin Sexton tonight up against a Washington team that not only played last night, but played in South Beach and went to OT vs. the Heat. The Wizards have been pretty bad regardless vs. the SG lately, allowing a 50fp night to Jimmy Butler last night and allowing 35 fp to OG Anunoby and 42 to Joe Ingles. Sexton has scored 25+ real points in 4 of the last 6.

Washington has struggled vs. the SG, and that's when rested.

Gary Trent, Jr. DK $3.4k | FD $3.8k

Not a really huge sample size but Gary Trent, Jr. has gotten huge usage the last two games with CJ McCollum sidelined with an ankle injury. Trent has logged 36 and 41 minutes while putting up 18 and 14 shots. It's expected to be a high scoring game tonight vs. Dallas (O/U 229) and that price and usage is a great combo.

Nice upside for the price on Trent tonight.

Darius Garland DK $5.5k | FD $4.7k

Darius Garland is a steal at under $5k on FD. The Cavs host Washington who is on 0 days rest and 24th defensively vs. the PG. Garland has scored in double figures in 13 straight, which is good enough for a flier at that price.

Forwards

Kyle Kuzma DK $4.6k | FD $4.8k

Kyle Kuzma's production has dropped in the last two games (18fp, 24fp) with Anthony Davis back in the Lakers lineup. It would be easy to see A.D's minutes restricted on 0 days rest and after just returning from an injured gluteus, which would increase Kuzma's usage. LeBron James also played 36 minutes last night vs. the Knicks. Kuzma is battling ankle soreness (GTD) but has great upside if he gives it a go.

Kuzma had some high water mark games when Davis was out.

Davis Bertans DK $5k | FD $4.5k

Strangely enough, what Davis Bertans may need right now is a back-to-back, which is what Washington finds themselves in tonight at Cleveland. Bertans has struggled to find his stroke since returning from injury, going 4-15, 3-13, and 8-18 in 3 of his last 4 games. Bertans has 10+ three point attempts in 3 of his last 4 and Cleveland ranks 26th in defending the three pointer. Ownership should be down on the b2b and 6X seems like a near formality.

A game only a DFS player could love.

Kristaps Porzingis DK $8k | FD $8.4k

Where will Kristaps Porzingis be tonight vs. Portland? Matched up with Hassan Whiteside who cannot guard his outside game or with Carmelo Anthony who can't stop him on the post? Porzingis got his 'rust game' out of the way Tuesday night vs. the Clippers, grabbing 9 boards and shooting 17 shots in only 27 minutes. The Trail Blazers rank 29th vs. the PF, so there's upside despite a price that is on the higher side.

Center

Tristan Thompson DK $7.3k | FD $5.9

It's pretty bad that we have to worry about the Cavs as the giver of a 💣 Blowout Game 💣 tonight but it's hard to see Washington putting up much of a fight tonight after leaving the shores of Miami to come to Cleveland. Regardless, the spread is only Cavs -2.5 and there's great value on Tristan Thompson on FanDuel especially. The Wizards are 29th defensively vs. the C position and Thompson just had a 13 point, 22 rebound outing vs. New York on Monday.

The C position breakdown for the 3-game slate.
