Top NBA Plays 12/30 | Penultimate Warriors
It's the second to last day of the year and the NBA is winding down with a 6-game slate tonight and 7 tomorrow - but with three of those starting before 5:00 EST. It's a couple final chances to get some big wins on the 2019 fiscal books, so let's see what we can discover.
Tonight's DFS Headlines
Hawks @ Magic
Check out the LineStar Usage Matrix for this game because there's no Trae Young (ankle) for Atlanta or Aaron Gordon (Achilles) for the Magic. The Hawks have also dropped 10 straight.
Heat @ Wizards
The Heat are putting some good offense together, averaging 114.8 ppg over their current 5-game win streak. Miami seems like a solid team to target up against Washington's injury-riddled, dead-last scoring defense (121.5).
Bucks @ Bulls
Ersan Ilyasova ($5.6k) has posted 43 and 47 fp nights starting in place of Giannis Antetokounmpo. It makes you wonder - is the Greek Freak just a 'system MVP?'
Nets @ Timberwolves
It's the #7 and #1 teams in pace locking horns, which might suggest a high scoring game. Brooklyn has scored just 82 and 98 points their last two while Minnesota scored only 88 points on Saturday.
Pistons @ Jazz
It's a battle of big men as Rudy Gobert ($8k) and his 14 double-doubles in the last 15 games meets Andre Drummond ($9.3k) who has 10 double-doubles in his last 11.
Suns @ Trail Blazers
Phoenix vs. Portland has the highest implied points of the night with a betting total of 231. It wouldn't be a bad idea to target Trail Blazers players, as Portland has won 11 straight in this series.
Guards
Goran Dragic DK $5.2k | FD $5.3k
The 1st thing you like about Goran Dragic tonight is the matchup, as the Heat visit Washington's #30 unit in defensive efficiency. That includes ranking 25th vs. the PG position. The other factor that makes Dragic a play (besides the price) is the fact that he's logged at least 29 minutes in each of the last three and has hoisted 14+ shots in each of those, even off the bench. Throw in 6+ assists in 3 of 4 games since returning from a groin injury and this is a great spot.
Joe Ingles DK $6.1k | FD $5.6k
Joe Ingles will rarely get you below 30fp (once in the last 10 games) but now he's starting to push that floor higher with 40+ fp in two of the last three. Ingles has been launching for the Jazz, putting up at least 8 three pointers in four straight games - and he's hitting them, shooting 22 of 38 (58%) over that span. The peripherals are solid, with 4+ rebounds and 4+ assists in 3 of the last 4 as well. Ingles' low water mark over the last 10 was due to 8 turnovers vs. Charlotte, but Detroit's defense ranks 24th in opponent turnovers per game.
Evan Fournier DK $6k | FD $5.5k
Believe it or not, the opposing team's star player being hurt may actually hinder Evan Fournier's performance tonight. Atlanta will be without Trae Young's pace but also his defense (or lack thereof). The Hawks will still push the ball though, and Fournier should step up with the 5.97 possession differential. Fournier has at least 14 shots in 3 of the last 4 games, a number that should only go up with Aaron Gordon (14+ fga in 4 of 5) out of the lineup.
Gordon's injury boosts Fournier's value - as does the matchup with Atlanta's #27 dVp at the SG spot.

Jimmy Butler ($7.8k) has only broken the 40fp barrier once in the last 5 games - and that was in OT vs. his old team, the Sixers.
CJ McCollum ($6.6k) had 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in the last meeting with the Suns two weeks ago.
Donovan Mitchell ($8.4k) has averaged 52 fp over the last two games, but is a risk at that price.
Forwards
Kelly Oubre, Jr. DK $6.7k | FD $6.1k
Kelly Oubre, Jr. was a downright monster on the boards Saturday, grabbing 16 rebounds while Frank Kaminsky battled knee issues and Deandre Ayton continues to sit with a sprained ankle. You wouldn't think he'd continue those numbers tonight, but Portland does rank 20th in opponents defensive rebound % and 26th on offensive %. Oubre, Jr. had his most shot attempts of the last 10 games in the previous meeting with the Trail Blazers, shooting 10-21 from the floor.
Carmelo Anthony DK $5.3k | FD $5.4k
Carmelo Anthony has had a couple down nights, shooting just 10-27 in his last two with just 22 and 23 fp nights to show for it. That was against the Lakers and the Jazz though, two of the top 11 teams in defensive efficiency as well as 17th and 21st in pace. Carmelo has a much better matchup tonight vs. the Suns' #19 ranked defense and top 10 pace. Dario Saric has been good on the blocks for the Phoenix defense, but Anthony has the ability to stretch from the 4 spot (even though he hasn't hit more than 1 three-pointer in the last 5 games).
Ersan Ilyasova DK $5.6k | FD $5k
The night when Giannis Antetokounmpo returns and Ersan Ilyasova's value plummets is coming, but why would the Greek Freak rush back from back issues vs. the 13-20 Bulls? Until then, it's "Ilyasova til it's over." Since starting for Antetokounmpo the last two games, Ilyasova has shot 13-21 from the field including 7-8 from three point range while averaging 15.5 rebounds. Chicago ranks dead last in dVp at the PF spot, giving up 54.44 fp/48. It's hard for Ilyasova to keep this pace, but for that price he's worth a flier.

Khris Middleton ($8.1k) is another guy raising his floor as of late with 40+ fp in 4 of his last 5. Unfortunately, his price tag is rising right the same.
John Collins ($8.7k) has 50+ fp in 2 of 3 games since returning from his suspension. No reason to think that doesn't continue with Trae Young and his 33.6% usage rate (7th in NBA) out of the lineup for Atlanta.
Center
Bam Adebayo DK $7.6k | FD $9.1k
Does DraftKings know something, because that pricing disparity is something out of a Dateline episode. Granted, there are a lot of big name centers on the slate tonight, but Bam Adebayo has arguably the best matchup out there vs. a Wizards team missing 3 major front court players. It's possible that Bradley Beal doesn't play for the Wizards, making this a potential blowout game. But Adebayo only needs a 46 fp night for 6X at this price. He's eclipsed that number in 5 of the last 7 and also posted a 24/14/4 line vs. these Wizards on December 6th.
๐๐ Other Likes / Dislikes ๐๐
Hassan Whiteside ($7.1k) has a 43.1 projection tonight but could easily hit 50 vs. a Suns team missing Ayton and with a banged up Kaminsky. Skai Labissiere is also out for Portland, leaving them a big man down.

Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is John Collins. Collins has a 27 and a 34 real point outing over his first three games back from suspension. No Trae Young for Atlanta and Collins is up against an Orlando team likely missing their starting PF Aaron Gordon.
