Top NBA Plays 1/23|You Mess with the Bull...
It's a breakfast club edition of the LineStar Daily Dribble but this is no Saturday detention as there is a 7-game Saturday slate on tap. It was a huge 11-game card yesterday, meaning a lot of teams are in the back-to-back tonight. Let's see how things break down...
Today's NBA Matchups
Pelicans (-8) @Timberwolves , O/U 220, 8:00 PM ET
New Orleans has dropped 4 of their last 5, but they get a great matchup with a Timberwolves team that has dropped 9 of their last 10. Minnesota is also on the b2b after an 18-point home loss to Atlanta last night.
Heat @ Nets (-7), O/U 231.5 8:00 PM ET
Believe it or not, Brooklyn is happy to get out of Cleveland after suffering back-to-back losses to the Cavs. The Heat are a good target here, as Brooklyn has allowed 115+ in 7 of the last 8 and is on a b2b.
Sixers (-7) @ Pistons , O/U 218, 8:00 PM ET
The Pistons get the biggest pace boost of the night, but both teams are on the back-to-back.
Rockets @ Mavs (-9) , O/U 219, 9:00 PM ET
Houston and Dallas are also both on 0 days rest. Luka Doncic ($10.7k) logged 36 minutes in his 61fp outing last night and Kristaps Porzingis ($8.2k) should be watched after he played 34 vs. the Spurs.
Nuggets (-2.5) @ Suns , O/U 216.5, 9:00 PM ET
Denver and Phoenix met up last night in a 130-126 Nuggets win in OT. What does each team have left in the tank though after such a fast paced tilt?
Notable Injuries: Devin Booker suffered a hamstring injury last night.
Lakers (-9.5) @ Bulls , O/U 228, 9:00 PM ET
Chicago is on an impressive run with wins over Dallas, Houston, and Charlotte the last three, but they'll be challenged on the back-to-back against Los Angeles. who just scored a big win in Milwaukee on Thursday.
Warriors @ Jazz (-7.5) , O/U 228, 9:00 PM ET
Golden State needs to find some consistency as they've beaten the Lakers and Spurs but lost to the Knicks over their last three. Utah is on a roll though, winners of 7 straight. The Jazz have held 5 of the last 6 opponents to 105 points or less.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Luka Doncic DK $10.7 k | FD $10.6k
Will Luka Doncic being on the back-to-back drive ownership down? Does the fact that the Rockets are on 0 days rest cancel out the b2b downgrade? Doncic still looks like a solid play after he posted 33/16/11 vs. Houston on January 4th.
Kendrick Nunn DK $5.6k | FD $6.5k
Is this the fall off game for Kendrick Nunn? With that DK price, it's still worth a shot (even on the back to back) after he's gone for 36+ fp in three straight. The Heat play the Nets, who ran a defense optional approach the last two games vs. Cleveland.
Dennis Schroder DK $6.1k | FD $6.2
Schroder had just 12fp vs. the Bucks on Thursday, but you play PGs vs. Chicago, especially with the Bulls on the back-to-back. Chicago has allowed 50+ to three of the last four PGs they've faced, and it never hurts that Anthony Davis and Lebron James are on the injury report.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker DK $4.7k | FD $4.7
Minnesota is in danger of getting blown out every time they take the court lately, meaning the minutes should be there for Alexander-Walker. He had a 50fp ceiling game when logging 33 minutes vs. the Clippers lately and just needs to take the shots tonight.
Seth Curry DK $5.3k | FD $4.5
Curry shot 6-10 from the field in his return last night, but perhaps more importantly played just 27 minutes. That should leave him fresh for the meeting with Detroit, who will be fatigued after a hard fought 1-point loss to the Rockets last night.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Jerami Grant DK $7.8k | FD $8.4k
It's a $400 price drop on DK for Jerami Grant, who is on the back-to-back. He did play 34 minutes and logged 25 shots the last time Detroit was on the b2b however and is playing a Sixers team also on 0 days rest.
Michael Porter DK $6.5k | FD $6.7k
Michael Porter should be one of the freshest players in the Nugget/Suns game after playing just 20 minutes last night. He only took 7 shots in his return, but that should increase tonight.
Mikal Bridges $5.4k | FD $5.5k
The Suns are likely without Devin Booker tonight, opening up a lot of usage for Mikal Bridges in the same matchup that he had 24/10/4 in last night (albeit in OT).
Royce O'Neale DK $5.1k | FD $4.8k
O'Neale pretty much has 'dead to me' status for most DFS players, but he does have a 48 point ceiling game over the last 7. The matchup vs. Golden State is the reason for the play, as they've allowed at least 25fp vs. the last five PFs.
Paul Millsap DK $5.4k | FD $4.7
Millsap gets a 4familiar matchup with the Suns, who Denver played last night. Millsap had 12 points and 5 boards last night, which isn't bad considering he played only 20 minutes. That also makes him one of the fresher starters for either team after last night's OT slugfest.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Joel Embiid DK $10k | FD $10.1k
Embiid is on the back-to-back, but he also only played 30 minutes last night vs. Boston. You target centers vs. Detroit, who allowed 26 rebounds to Clint Capela and gave up 15 boards to Demarcus Cousins last night.
Steven Adams DK $6.1k | FD $5.4k
Opposing centers have put up at least 49 points in four straight vs. the Timberwolves, giving Steven Adams value tonight.
Demarcus Cousins DK $5.1k | FD $4.9k
Anybody going back to the Demarcus Cousins well tonight? There's value if Christian Wood sits again, as Cousins grabbed 15 boards last night vs. Detroit and hit 35 fp even while shooting 2-16 from the field.

🔥 SuperDraft Multiplier Must-Play
Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is Joel Embiid at 1.1x. Sixers are on the b2b, but Embiid won't need a ton of minutes to get value as Detroit has allowed 41 rebounds to opposing C starters the last two games.
