Top NBA Plays 12/4 | NBA Bite Size 5-Game Slate Tonight
Games that Stand Out at First Glance
We're a little short on time tonight, so this section will be brief. Every game is an option tonight, even with the Bulls/Pacers at an 8 point spread, there shouldn't be any blowout concerns. The Bulls are playing for a new coach and I would suspect they want to win one for their new leader, keeping it closer than the spread implies. The Kings and Suns have the largest point total of the night at 223 total points, with lots of value to be had from both teams, so choose wisely!
Guards
Elie Okobo (DK: $4.4k, FD: $4.7k, Y! $10)
Devin Booker is out tonight for Phoenix and the player most likely to benefit from his absence is PG Elie Okobo. Even though the usage for Okobo only increases +1.74% with Booker out of the lineup, Phoenix is up against Sacramento tonight as +5.5 home favorites. The Kings are 29th in opposing PG FPPG and 26th vs. SG so it should be a solid night for the Suns backcourt. Darren Collison and Ricky Rubio both have 42+ fantasy point nights vs. Sacramento in the past three games so Okobo is a nice play for an unknown tonight.
Dennis Smith, Jr. (DK: $5.5k, FD: $5.9k, $ Y! $15)
Smith is a GTD after getting a tooth knocked out last game but he's a much better bet to play than teammate Luka Doncic. Although Doncic has a good shot to play, Smith's FP go up 3.02 when the rookie is out. Smith also has a very solid matchup vs. Portland's 30th ranked defense in SG points allowed. The Trailblazers gave up a 57 point night to DeMar DeRozan last time out. Smith is also averaging 42 FPPG vs. Portland the last 3 H2H matchups.
De'Aaron Fox (DK: $7.5k, FD: $7.9k, Y! $30)
The Suns rank 15th vs. PG starters but the Kings are in a great spot to get a W tonight as -5.5 road favorites. DeAaron Fox has seen good usage with five 31+ minute nights in his last six games. He's had four 9+ assist nights in that span and has scored in double figures in four of those contests. Fox's assist numbers should improve, as the Suns allow 6.8 dimes per game to PG starters.
Forwards
Doug McDermott (DK: $3.5k, FD: $3.7k, Y! $10)
Can Doug McDermott strike tonight against his former team, Chicago? The Bulls fired head coach Fred Hoiberg yesterday and will go with interim Jim Boylen the rest of the season. McDermott has two 21 point games in his last four outings and his production increases 136 percent when well rested. The Pacers are -8.5 favorites at home so McDermott should see plenty of court time tonight.
Jabari Parker (DK: $6.7k, FD: $7.3k, Y! $26)
Sometimes the unknown of a new coach can favor the team who canned their former leader as well. Jabari Parker is the most likely player on Chicago to see his recent solid numbers improve even more. Parker has gone for 20+ in 5 of his last 7 games. Parker had 21 and 12 the last time out despite the return of Lauri Markkanen who logged 25 minutes. If anything, Markkanen's presence can help bolster Parker's production.
Terrence Ross (DK: $5k, FD: $5.8k, Y! $14)
Terrence Ross is a value play tonight as the Magic take on the Miami Heat. Ross has been on a heater over the last 4 games. He's played well against Miami over the last 3 seasons, including the first game of this season where he put up over 30 fantasy points. It's likely going to be a close game tonight and both benches are going to be needed to close this out.
Centers
Deandre Ayton (DK: $6.5k, FD: $6.8k, Y! $28)
As mentioned above, the suns are without 2 big contributors again tonight, which leaves plenty of value to go around on the team. You're going to want to pick your battles in the players you select, as you don't want to take the whole team. So if you're making multiple lineups, spread them around. Ayton has been slumping as of late, but the team is going to need him to get back to his earlier season form tonight.
LaMarcus Aldridge (DK: $7.6k, FD: $8k, Y! $30)
Aldridge had 2 monster games against Utah last season and will be looking to repeat tonight. The Spurs may be on the road tonight, but it hasn't phased Aldridge this season as 2 of his biggest games have come while on the road this season, and the Jazz have been giving up big points to top tier big men.
Nikola Vucevic (DK: $9k, FD: $9.7k, Y! $40)
Miami have been bleeding points to the center position as of late. Vucevic had a bad showing versus the Heat for the first game of the season, but hasn't looked back as he's been on a rampage ever since. He's one of the higher priced options today, and it may be possible to get away with going a cheaper option, but he'll likely be low owned with a big ceiling tonight.
