Top NBA Plays 1/26 | Good Guys Win! š
Tastefully curated M-F by LineStar fantasy experts.
Down on DFS? Here's a gentle reminder that it isn't about the day-to-day, it's about the long game...
Iāve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. Iāve lost almost 300 games. 26 times Iāve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. Iāve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. āMichael Jordan
That one big win is all it takes to make the difference.
Play everyday, even the freerolls.
Guards
James Harden, HOU [@NO] (DK: $11.4k, FD: $11.4k)
This game is slated as the highest scoring game of the night at 227.5 total points with a tight 4 point spread in favor of the Rockets. Certainly many players in this game are worth considering tonight. Harden has one of the higher ceilings assuming they'll let him approach 40 minutes tonight. Harden put up 68 fantasy points in early December in 35 minutes in this same matchup.
Darren Collison, IND [@CLE] (DK: $6k, FD: $5.4k)
Collison has averaged 32 fantasy points versus the Cavs this season, ranging between 17 and 46 fantasy points. The Cavs are ranked 30th versus starting point guards over the lsat 5 games, including when Collison played against them on Jan 12 and put up 34 fantasy points. Vegas has this as one of the higher point totals of the night at 223 total points with a 6 point spread in favor of Cleveland. This is more of a cash play, as his ceiling is few and far between, but he should have a relatively safe floor tonight.
Rajon Rondo, NO [vs HOU] (DK: $4.7k, FD: $4.5k)
If you're looking to grab a cheaper piece of this game, Rondo can make for a decent target. If he were to go off, assists are going to be a large part of his game, so you'll want to pair him up with another guy on the Pelicans. Houston ranked 23rd against starting point guards allowing 35 fantasy points per game. Rondo has only seen 15 minutes the last two games, and these minutes aren't guaranteed tonight but if they were just resting him a bit it would be for this type of game.
Forwards
LaMarcus Aldridge, SA [vs PHI] (DK: $8.3k, FD: $9.4k)
As usual, without Kawahi Leonard in the lineup, Aldridge carries the team in usage and scoring. Vegas has this game at only a 200.5 point total tonight, which seems quite low considering their last game went for 218. The 76ers are ranked 29th versus starting power forwards allowing 34 fantasy points a game. Aldridge is coming into this game with 3 days of rest, after being rested for their last game.
Joe Ingles, UTA [@TOR] (DK: $4.9k, FD: $4.8k)
Rodney Hood has missed the last 3 games, and Ingles usage has increased by 3% and seen +6 fantasy points per game. It's a little tougher matchup this go around playing the Raptors at their home, but Ingles is cheap enough and seeing over 30 minutes per game to give him a fairly safe floor and decent ceiling for a player at this salary.
Dillon Brooks, MEM [vs LAC] (DK: $4.2k, FD: $4.3k)
The Grizzlies are dealing with all sorts of injury problems at the moment. Evans, Martin, McLemore are all questionable today with Green and Ennis already being declared out. With just Green and Ennis out, Brooks is seeing +2% usage. If more of these guys miss today, Brooks will have to log even more time on court and see increased usage. In what is also a good matchup against the Clippers who rank 21st versus starting small forwards allowing 28 fantasy points per game and even more while they're on the road.
Centers
Kevin Love, CLE [vs IND] (DK: $7.3k, FD: $7.1k)
Tristan Thompson slides into the starting lineup tonight, and also makes for a decent option tonight, but this pushes Kevin Love back to his natural position and may be the push that he needs to get going again. This game has one of the higher totals on the night at 223 total points and a somewhat close 6 point spread in favor of Cleveland. Love has a 40 point ceiling and with his lower salary tonight could make for a solid choice assuming he decides to play hard tonight.
Tyson Chandler, PHO [vs NY] (DK: $4.4k, FD: $4.6k)
There is no doubt about it, Chandler was an unmitigated disaster in his last outing, getting into foul trouble extremely early in the game. Then never really got back into the game because it was a complete blowout. Chandler typically doesn't get into foul trouble so this game was a bit of an anomaly. Alex Len remains questionable which would leave Greg Monroe and Chandler to handle the center duties. You can probably get Chandler low owned because of people being scared about what happened last game but he has a decent ceiling when Len is out.
Jonas Valanciunas, TOR [vs UTA] (DK: $4.8k, FD: $5.7k)
He's just too cheap to ignore on DraftKings with his extremely high ceiling. The Raptors are an 8 point favorite here, so if they do blow out Utah early it's possible they don't give Jonas the minutes he needs to go wild. At this low of a salary though, it'll be hard for him to disappoint too much, and has has surpassed 30 fantasy points in 6 of the last 10 games, so there is a better than even chance of him getting close to his ceiling recently.
