Guards
Russell Westbrook, OKC [@BKN] (DK: $12k, FD: $11.5k) ***MUST PLAY***
Welp, Westbrook should be 100% owned tonight as the Thunder are going to be without Paul George and Jerami Grant, forcing Westbrook back to 2016 which he was heading towards anyhow. This is a pretty large up-pace game for the Thunder but the over/under is only 215 which seems fairly low for this matchup. On paper it's a great matchup for Westbrook as the Nets are ranked 26th against starting point guards allowing 37 fantasy points a game, and 7 fppg more at home.
Ben Simmons, PHI [vs LAL] (DK: $9.9k, FD: $10.5k)
Ben Simmons size and athleticism dominated over Lonzo Ball in their last matchup and should again tonight. The Lakers are ranked 29th against starting point guards allowing 38 fantasy points per game, Simmons put up 61 fantasy points in their meeting.
Tim Frazier, WAS [@PHO] (DK: $4K, FD: $4.3k)
It's probably not the night to go cheap at point guard when there is Westbrook and Simmons in a small slate, but if you do want to go this route.. the Suns have allowed 6 point guards into the perfect lineup over the last month. If you're not feeling Frazier, Tomas Satoransky is an option here as well. The Suns are ranked 25th against starting point guards allowing 37 fantasy points a game.
Forwards
T.J. Warren, PHO [vs WAS] (DK: $6.5k, FD: $8.1k)
The price difference between FanDuel makes Warren a much better play on DraftKings. The Suns are going to be without Devin Booker for a couple of weeks and are going to have to distribute that usage to other players. Warren has been a good tournament play this season with high ceilings but with some very low floors as well, and his ceiling got even higher without Booker on the court. It's a down-pace game for the Suns, but it's a good matchup against the Wizards who rank 29th against starting small forwards.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, BKN [vs OKC] (DK: $5.4k, FD: $7.3k)
Again, this is a much better play on DraftKings as his FanDuel salary is a lot higher. Rondae has quietly been very consistent when healthy, scoring 30+ fantasy points in 7 of his last 10 games when he didn't get injured. Injury problems are a concern though as he's exited 2 games early due to injuries. He gets a great matchup against the Thunder who are ranked 29th against starting power forwards allowing 36 fantasy points a game.
Jared Dudley, PHO [vs WAS] (DK: $3.7k, FD: $3.7k)
This is strictly a tournament play as Dudley has a floor of 0. The Marquese Chriss experiment has been a failure this season for the suns and they've got to be seeing that. Dudley the veteran power forward on the team has shown that he can still fill this role for the team which is now without Booker, its top scorer. The team likely won't be able to just sit back and wait for Booker to return and keep playing Chriss so look for them to give Dragan Bender or Dudley more time on the court if they want a chance to win games without Booker on the court.
Centers
Joel Embiid, PHI [vs LAL] (DK: $10.1k, FD: $10.8k)
It's hard to ignore the Embiid in the room when he scored 94 fantasy points against the Lakers in mid November. Don't count on him scoring that much again this entire season but a more reasonable goal would be 50 fantasy points tonight. The Lakers play surprisingly well against centers on the road, probably because they are so horrible against every other position. Don't look for Embiid to have a super high ceiling tonight, however he's 2 tiers above every other center tonight as there isn't anyone close to him in salary or projections.
Clint Capela, HOU [@UTA] (DK: $6.5k, FD: $7.5k)
He's pretty much the only other center on the slate tonight that could possibly top Embiid if things go right (and wrong for Embiid). So, if you're looking to get off the highly owned Embiid, this is probably the path to follow. It's a tough matchup against the Jazz who are ranked 5th against starting Centers, but Gobert is still returning to form so their defense is in a state of flux currently. Houston also has a couple questionable guys tonight in Nene Hilario and Ryan Anderson.
Tyson Chandler, PHO [vs WAS] (DK: $4.5k, FD: $5.3k)
Following the Suns usage pattern of their 3 centers would seem to indicate Chandler will start tonight after Monroe started last game. The Wizards have been dominated by top tier centers over the last 5 games so Chandler might look like he's in slow motion compared to Nurkic, Gobert, Drummond, Embiid and Towns. If the suns announce either Len or Monroe will be rested this game, then Chandler will be a must own regardless.
