Top NBA Plays 1/30 | Attacking Bad

6 of the 8 worst teams in the NBA are in action tonight as the Cavaliers, Hornets, Wizards, Hawks, Warriors, and Kings all take the court. It's a slippery slope targeting the opponents of these teams, as they are bad - but also so bad they could get blown out. Then again, I think it was Methuselah who said "Blowouts are not a given in DFS."

On to the Thursday 6-gamer:

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Raptors @ Cavaliers

Toronto gave us a good model of how to attack tonight's game with the Cavs on Tuesday in a blowout win over Atlanta. Serge Ibaka went for 24/10 off the bench and Terence Davis had 15/6 as a reserve. Toronto is just too balanced - good in real life, but frustrating in the fantasy world.

Hornets @ Wizards

It's not the most exciting game to watch - unless you're betting on it or playing the DFS matchup. The Wizards have given up 303 points total over their last two games and Charlotte ranks 30th dVp against centers and 28th vs. PF's.

76ers @ Hawks

The betting total for this one is 228, which is up there considering the 76ers have the #3 defense in the league. Joel Embiid is back for Philadelphia and went for 24 points while wearing #24 on Tuesday.

Warriors @ Celtics

It's always good to attack the Golden State defense, as they have allowed 129+ in 4 of the last 6.

Jazz @ Nuggets

This will be a matchup to log for future reference, as Utah and Denver meet 4 times over the last 35 games of the year. The Jazz have the #8 defense in the league, but have allowed a 51 point night to Eric Gordon and gave up 70 first half points to the Spurs in their last two - and are on a back to back.

Kings @ Clippers

The Clippers have had the last three days off since Tuesday's game with the Lakers was postponed as the city of L.A continued to grieve Kobe. Kawhi Leonard has scored 30+ real points in 8 straight, but Sacramento is a methodical 23rd in pace.

Guards

D'Angelo Russell DK $8k | FD $7.4k

D'Angelo Russell has gone for 26+ real points in 6 of the last 8 since returning from a shoulder injury. The good thing is that people are probably going to be driven away from Russell tonight against Marcus Smart and Boston's #5 defensive efficiency. Even so, Russell has gotten off a dozen three pointers in 5 of 6 games and has been in a perfect lineup in 6 of 8 since returning from his injury. Matchup or not, Russell's #11 usage (31.5%) for $8k is a play.

Russell has put up his recent numbers against good defenses in Orlando, Utah, Indiana, and Philadelphia.

Terry Rozier DK $7.3k | FD $6.8k

This would be a great spot for Miles Bridges vs. a Wizards team that has allowed 51 real points to Khris Middleton and 25 in 28 minutes to Deandre Hunter their last two vs. the SF position. Bridges' usage is way too low though and Terry Rozier is still a strong play vs. Washington's 25th ranked dVp against the PG. Rozier is coming off a 30 point, 10 rebound outing vs. the Knicks , and there are going to be opportunities, as the Wizards have allowed 150+ in two straight.

Rozier also gets the best pace boost of the night vs. Washington

Furkan Korkmaz DK $4k | FD $4.1k

There's upside for Furkan Korkmaz tonight with the pace boost against Atlanta and with a betting total of 228. Al Horford's usage is also likely out of the lineup for Philadelphia (knee) and Mike Scott is also a GTD (knee). Korkmaz has lost his shot as of late, hitting just 6-18 over his last two, but he 15+ real points in 4 of 5 prior.

Forwards

Jerami Grant DK $6.4k | FD $6k

Utah has the 7th best defense vs. the PF position, but the Jazz also have to travel to the Colorado atmosphere a night after a loss to San Antonio. The entire Jazz front court played at least 30 minutes vs. the Spurs last night, which gives Jerami Grant a great opportunity to continue his recent success. Grant has gone for 36+ fp in four straight which is close to 6X for this price. He's even launching three's, hitting 9 of his last 12.

Ownership should be low on Grant the way Utah has defended the PF - but the Jazz are on 0 days rest.

Davis Bertans DK $6.2k | FD $5.6k

Charlotte struggles vs. the PF position, ranking 28th dVp against that spot. That gives Davis Bertans extra value when combined with his tendency to shoot from the outside. The Washington big man has 32 and 20 real points vs. the Hornets this year while hitting 14 of 23 threes. Bertans is also a wild card upside play tonight because Washington is playing just their 2nd home game in the last 8. The sharp shooting Bertans is hitting 46.5% of his three pointers at home this year.

Draymond Green DK $5.9k | FD $5.9k

You'll either get 40 or 4 fp with Draymond Green but at under $6k, he's worth a flier after the last two games. In the last two games since getting back to full strength after battling the flu, Green has averaged 11.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds to go with some measly shooting (6-16). Those performances came against two solid defenses in Indiana and Philadelphia, so facing Boston tonight shouldn't be a deterrence.

Green has hit 6X in two straight as well as the last time Golden State faced Boston.

Center

Daniel Theis DK $6.1k | FD $5.2k

It's smart to target post players vs. the Wizards right now. Daniel Theis' price seems a bit on the high side for DK, as he needs 38 for 6X, a number he hasn't hit since November 20th. Even so, Golden State has allowed 13, 21, 15, and 10 rebounds to 4 of the past 5 centers they've faced. With Enes Kanter (hip) and Robert Williams (hip) out tonight, it's a great opportunity for Theis to get a second straight double-double.

The ownership numbers are low early on for Theis
