Top NBA Plays 1/7 | A High Scoring Night?

There are 6-games on tap for the Tuesday NBA slate and about half the teams involved are either a) on the second end of a back-to-back or b) bad. Some, like the Kings, are both. We like those nights though, so let's see what the card has to offer:

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Pistons @ Cavaliers

The Pistons are 4-guys down while also finally putting the finishing touches on 6-game road trip that included a visit out West. Cleveland would be a good target - if we knew who was going to play for the trades-are-imminent Cavaliers.

Trail Blazers @ Raptors

The viruses that have swept through the NBA made their way to the Portland locker room, as CJ McCollum missed last game but should be back for Tuesday. Toronto may be missing Fred VanVleet however (hamstring).

Thunder @ Nets

Both the Thunder and Nets are on leg two of a back-to-back on Tuesday and trying to avenge Monday losses. Brooklyn did a better job of managing minutes yesterday, but are a risky DFS target after being held to 102 points or less in 4 of their last 6 overall.

Timberwolves @ Grizzlies

Memphis should be a major target tonight, as their offense is grooving with 120+ in three straight that were all on the road. Despite the Timberwolves holding three straight opponents to under 106 points, Minnesota still ranks in the top dozen in pace over that span.

Kings @ Suns

The Kings are starting to get back to their roots with some higher scoring games (both offensively and defensively)over their last 3. How will that be effected playing on 0 days rest at Phoenix after a win over Golden State on Monday?

Lakers @ Knicks

In the 'what?' department, the Knicks actually swept the Lakers last season and have taken 8 of the last 10 overall. LA has a current 5-game winning streak however.

Guards

Dillon Brooks DK $4.9k | FD $4.9k

The betting total for Minnesota at Memphis is 230 and you can rest assured Dillon Brooks should have a hand in his fair share of those points. The Memphis G went for 29+ fp in each of the last two and should be in line for a 6X+ night as the Grizzlies are playing their 1st home game since December 29th. The T'Wolves also rank 24th defensively vs. the SG spot.

Derrick Rose DK $6.4k | FD $6.1k

Derrick Rose is becoming a good play lately because right now, who else is there for Detroit (besides Andre Drummond?) The walking wounded Pistons are up against the Cavs tonight, winding down a 6-game road trip. Does Detroit being fatigued get Rose more action off the bench? Rose had 28 points in 28 minutes Sunday vs. the Lakers and this is a mini Revenge Game after that minute that the former MVP spent in Cleveland.

Detroit ran out of ink printing off their injury report.

Devin Booker DK $8.8k | FD $8.8k

Devin Booker has gone for 50+ fp in 4 of the last 5 games, He's a great play for cash games with that floor and could hit a bit higher tonight as the Suns are up against a Sacramento team coming off the back-to-back. Booker has 23+ shots in 5 of the last 6 and has a 52.5 average vs. the Kings in his last two games.

Booker likes the matchup vs. Sacramento.

๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘ Other Likes  / Dislikes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Kyle Lowry has had the last 2 nights off and could get a usage boost with Fred VanVleet joining Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell and others on the injury report.

Shabazz Napier has hit 6X at tonight's price in four straight games and has a fast-paced matchup with Memphis.

Forwards

Jae Crowder DK $5k | FD $5.4k

There are a ton of Grizzlies in this lineup but Minnesota seems to be a team to target against tonight. Jae Crowder has a great price tag for his upside. Yes, he finished with just 12 fp last time out, but that was on the second leg of a back-to-back at the Suns. In the two games prior, Crowder averaged 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. Those would have been good for a 7X and a 12X return on investment based on tonight's prices - and both were on the road. The Grizzlies are home tonight for the first time in 2020.

Crowder has shown some great upside lately for the price.

Marcus Morris DK $6.2k | FD $6k

Marcus Morris is listed as a game time decision but, by all accounts, he's expected to suit up even with a sore neck. The matchup overall isn't the greatest vs. the Lakers defense, and LA is indeed a top 10 dVp against the SF as well. Even so, Morris has taken 17+ shots in three straight games and has found his niche in Mike Miller's offense. Morris has 40 and 53 fp the last two games, good enough for the 6X to 8X value range if he can repeat tonight. Others DFS players should lay off him, now it's just time for Morris to come through, especially if he wants to showcase for the Lakers.

๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Other Likes / Dislikes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Is there a showcase game coming for Kyle Kuzma ($4.8k), whose name is starting to heat up in trade talks? A possible blowout vs. the Knicks would be a great opportunity.

Trevor Ariza ($3.5k) has big upside if Holmes, Bogdanovic, and Bagley III all miss the game vs. the Suns, Ariza's former team by the way.

Center

Jonas Valanciunas DK $7.2k | FD $6.7k

It's hard to expect another 12-16 shooting night that included 3-4 from downtown from Jonas Valanciunas like he had on Sunday vs. Phoenix. Then again, the Grizzlies are in another favorable matchup vs. a Minnesota team missing Karl-Anthony Towns yet again. Valanciunas is one of the better priced C's on tonight's lineup and the Timberwolves do rank 23rd vs. the C position, allowing 54.61 fp/48. For tonight, 43 fp would return 6X, a play that's worth a chance considering the betting total is 230 and Memphis is playing just their 2nd home game since December 23rd.

The numbers on Val have waned a bit, but he's also been playing almost strictly road games.

๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘ Other Likes / Dislikes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

Anybody on the repeat for Gorgui Dieng? He posted 58fp last game and has a favorable matchup vs. Memphis but the $6.8k price tag is a near $1k increase from last game.
