Top NBA Plays 1/7| One short of a Sixer
It's a nice 5-gamer for tonight's NBA DFS slate, a little more manageable than those whopper cards - which are interesting and challenging in their own special ways.
Tonight's games are highlighted by the walking wounded meeting up in Memphis, Philly on the back to back (no Embiid?) at Brooklyn, and some interesting betting line changes in the Spurs at Lakers game. Let's get after it.
Today's NBA Matchups
76ers (-1.5) @ Nets , O/U 225, 7:30 PM ET
The Sixers are on the back-to-back tonight after a surprisingly tough 141-136 win over Washington last night. Philly's main guys logged a lot of minutes vs. the Wizards, not good heading into a matchup with Brooklyn's #4 pace.
Notable Injuries: Kevin Durant remains in the health and safety protocol. Joel Embiid could very well sit on the b2b.
Cavs @ Grizzlies (-5), O/U 209 8:00 PM ET
The Band-Aid Bowl features a lot of injuries on both sides of the court. Cleveland has been held under 100 points for five straight, the Grizzlies the last two.
Mavs @ Nuggets (-3), O/U 225 10:00 PM ET
Dallas should be fresh after having the last two nights off following Monday's win over Houston. Denver welcomes Michael Porter, Jr. back tonight after he's missed the last three in the health and safety protocol. UPDATE: MPJ is out due to health protocols.
Notable Injuries: Trey Burke (illness) is out for Dallas.
Spurs @ Lakers (-5.5), O/U 224.5 10:00 PM ET
These two teams should be very familiar with each other, as the Lakers took a pair from the Spurs last week, 121-107 and 109-103. This betting line has dropped nearly four points from the LAL -9 open, so something might be up on the Lakers injury front.
Notable Injuries: Lebron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (thigh) remain questionable, while Alex Caruso may return for L.A.
Timberwolves @ Trail Blazers (-10), O/U 232 10:00 PM ET
Portland looks like a nice 🎯Target Team🎯tonight as the Timberwolves have allowed at least 123 points in five straight. Then again this could be a blowout, as Minnesota has won just twice in their last 28 visits to the City of Roses.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Luka Doncic DK $10.5k | FD $11.1k
Probably the best, or at least safest, big money player on tonight's slate along with Nikola Jokic. The Lakers betting line is dropping like crazy meaning something may be up with Lebron James or Anthony Davis, Embiid is on the back-to-back, Irving plays the Sixers defense, and Lillard could be in a blowout game.
D'Angelo Russell DK $7.7 k | FD $7.8k
It's tough because D'Lo just came off a ceiling game with 33 points and 11 dimes against Denver, but Russell gets a matchup with a Portland team that gave up 62 real points to Steph Curry two games ago. Russell has a 26 point, 7 assists, and a 27/8/9 performance against the Trail Blazers in his last two (as a member of the Warriors).
Dillon Brooks DK $6.3k | FD $6k
That Dillon Brooks price is slowly coming back down to the 'doable' range, as his ceiling has been just 35 fp the last five games. He's still taken at least a dozen shots in each of those games and gets a Cavs team on the b2b.
Gary Harris DK $4k | FD $3.8k
Harris gets a ton of minutes (30+ in 3 of 4) and plays a Dallas team that has allowed above average value to 3 of the last 4 SGs they've faced.
Bruce Brown DK $3.5k | FD $3.9k
Not a bad value spot for Bruce Brown vs. a Sixers team that gave up 60 real points at the SG spot last night. Had his biggest minutes of the season (23 min) last game with KD out.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Juancho Hernangomez $4.4k | FD $4.2k
Yes another 47fp night is probably a bit too optimistic, but you don't need a huge night from Juancho Hernangomez at this price. He's in the starting spot but at seemingly the one position that Portland defends well against. Either way, you ride it after a 10-14, 8 rebound performance.
Caris LeVert $6.8k | FD $6.5k
Caris LeVert gets the keys with KD out of the lineup, although he's still coming off the bench in a role that suits him well. LeVert launched 18 shots in 21 minutes on Tuesday, playing less because of Brooklyn's 34 point win over the Jazz. You just hope the Sixers keep this close on a back to back.
Derrick Jones DK $4.1k | FD $3.9k
Derrick Jones has a 37 fp ceiling on the season, and tonight faces a Minnesota team allowing 29+ fp to SF starters.
Anthony Edwards $4.7k | FD $4.1k
The 19 shots hoisted up Tuesday is optimistic - the 6 makes is not. However, the rookie gets a matchup with Portland's 6th worst defense tonight.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Jonas Valanciunas DK $7.2k | FD $6.5k
There's got to be a 🍔50 Burger🍔lurking one of these nights for Valanciunas. He'll try against a Cleveland team on the back-to-back, and whom he grabbed 18 and 14 rebounds against in two games last year.
Jarrett Allen DK $6.7k | FD $6.4k
Jarrett Allen got the start for the Nets last game, and he might hold on to that spot for a decade if he continues putting up 19 point, 18 rebound performances. The matchup with Embiid gets easier tonight after the Philly big man played 37 minutes last night and could very easily sit out.

🔥 SuperDraft Multiplier Must-Play
Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is D'Angelo Russell at 1.45X. A nice multiplier coming off a 33 point, 11 assist performance and against a Portland team that struggles to defend the back court.
