Top NBA Plays 1/7 | T.G.I.M
Good afternoon to everybody not named Cody Parkey. The best way to move past your kicker thinking you get extra points for hitting the goal post -like it's MTV's Rock N' Jock football - is with an 8 game NBA card. Thank God it's Monday is the theme today with professional hoops offering a nice distraction for those who are Alabama-d out in regards to the college football championship.
James Harden ($12,000) is in action tonight and lately NBA DFS has come down to picking the 7 or 8 guys that have value to go around the Rockets guard. Harden has scored at least 58 fantasy points in 12 straight games so you obviously can't go wrong with him on your roster. Let's find some bargain prices to go with the bearded one this evening:
Tonight's Headline Games
Kyrie Irving ($9,200) and Marcus Morris ($5,900) are supposedly back in the lineup for the Boston Celtics tonight. It's the major reason the C's are huge -9.5 favorites over the Brooklyn Nets, who are 7-3 over their last 10.
The Dallas Mavericks (-8) are 16-3 at home and have a great shot at adding to that mark vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. Kyle Kuzma ($7,600) is in danger of missing his 3rd straight game for LA with a back injury. Los Angeles is also in leg two of a B2B.
The game of the night is the Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets taking on the surging Houston Rockets (-1). Houston is 8-2 in their last 10 but is coming off a 9-point loss to Portland on Saturday.
The Milwaukee Bucks (-5.5) fell 116-123 to Toronto on Saturday night in what would have gave them possession of 1st place in the East. The Bucks are 8-2 in their last 10 but have a tough matchup with the Utah Jazz who are 4-2 since Christmas.
Guards
Austin Rivers (DK: $4,700, FD: $4,500 Y! $13)
The Houston Rockets are getting their money's worth in their acquisition of Austin Rivers. What is meant by that is they are logging him out there for some serious minutes - running the wheels off the Buick so to speak. Rivers has 40+ of court time the last three games and that looks to continue Monday vs. the Nuggets with Eric Gordon still out. Rivers has responded with a 33 and a 26 point fantasy night the last two and best of all, he's getting shots - 16.5 fga the last two.
Bogdan Bogdanovic (DK: $5,300 FD: $6,600 Y! $22)
The Sacramento Kings should have a very solid offensive night against an Orlando team playing in a B2B and their 5th road contest in a row. Bogdan Bogdanovic can be had for considerably less than teammate De'Aaron Fox and provides a more consistent return. Bogdanovich has produced five straight 25+ point fantasy nights. He's scored in double figures each of those games and has also produced at least 4+ assists and 5+ rebounds in three of those games. Orlando is 7th vs. the SG - but that's without factoring in their fatigue. The Kings are 2nd in pace of play which will burn out the Magic.
Lance Stephenson (DK: $4,000 FD: $4,200 Y! $10)
The Lakers are in a blowout spot tonight up against the Mavs who are 15-3 at home. LA has lost 5 of 6 which includes a home loss to the Knicks. That spells a lot of usage for Lance Stephenson, especially considering Los Angeles is playing in a B2B. The Lakers lost by 22 in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon and Stephenson had 14 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Stephenson had a 27 point fantasy night the game prior to the Knicks, so he's definitely earned a bigger role.
Forwards
Al-Farouq Aminu (DK: $5,400, FD; $5,800 Y! $19 )
Al-Farouq Aminu had a monster game on Friday with 16 points and 15 rebounds vs. the Thunder. Portland has New York tonight and you always worry about a blowout in Knicks games. With the Trail Blazers playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, however, this one should be closer than expected. Aminu is primed for another big night despite going for just 7 points last time out (on leg two of a B2B). New York is 30th vs. the PF on the season and Aminu has at least 7 rebounds in 8 straight games.
Kyle Anderson (DK: $5,200, FD: $6,600 Y! $20 )
Kyle Anderson has a 39 point and a 45 point fantasy night over his last four - can he keep that production up vs. New Orleans? The Pelicans allow 29.7 fppg to SF starters including 5.3 reb/game. Anderson posted the 1st triple-double of his career two games ago vs. Brooklyn and averaged 17.5 ppg the two contests prior. Anderson is finding a smooth groove in the Grizzlies offense and had 19 points and 11 rebounds vs. New Orleans in early December.
Reggie Bullock (DK: $3,700 FD: $4,700 Y! $11)
You have to like the amount of shots that Reggie Bullock gets in the Detroit offense, especially from three point range. The ceiling isn't very high for the Pistons SF but he's at least consistent with 20+ point fantasy nights in 4 of the last 5. Detroit hosts the Spurs tonight who are just 6-12 on the road this season. Bullock logged 39 minutes last and if his three's can fall he should approach a 30 point fantasy night on Monday.
Centers
Enes Kanter (DK: $5,300 FD: $6,000 Y! $20)
Competition has lit a fire under Enes Kanter. The Knicks have moved Luke Kornet to the starting C position and in the last two games, Kanter is averaging 16.5 ppg and 13.5 rpg. New York plays in their 5th straight road contest on Monday and even if they do get blown out, Kanter should see solid minutes. The Knicks have had 2 nights off and Kanter logged 26 minutes in the win over the Lakers on Friday. You always worry about the rotation enigma that is NYK coach David Fizdale but Kanter has solid upside for the price.
Jarrett Allen ( DK: $5,500, FD: $6,200 Y! $19)
Another big man with solid value for the Monday card is the Nets' Jarrett Allen. Brooklyn has won 5 of their last 7 and is upset minded even though they are 10 point underdogs at Boston. One area the Celtics do struggle a bit is vs. the C position, where they have allowed 15 rebounds and 12 rebounds to starters the past two games. Allen has seen solid production as of late that includes double-doubles in two of the last three and a 19 point 6 rebound night yesterday. Allen is in the B2B, but he played only 23 minutes vs. Chicago on Sunday. Ownership is just 5% as production dips 18% in a back to back. That being said, 10 Nets players logged double digits in minutes yesterday so they should attack Monday like a normal game.
Dwight Powell (DK:$3,700 FD: $4,300 Y! $10)
If the Mavericks do indeed get a double digit win over the Lakers tonight, it should mean a lot of usage for backup C Dwight Powell. He's logged 17+ minutes in each game since the 1st of the year and has scored 13+ in two of those. Powell is posting solid rebounding numbers over that span as well, with two games of 8 rebounds. Powell has exceeded his projections the last three contests and went over 25 fantasy points in two of them. Los Angeles is on a B2B and fell by 22 in Minnesota yesterday as Karl-Anthony Towns had 28 and 18.
That wraps up the Monday edition of the LineStar Daily Dribble. The NBA has blessed us with an 8 game card for Tuesday night, which is great. There's plenty of angles to explore so check back tomorrow for more TNT - thoughts n' things.
